Far away from Asgard...
And far away from the mission entrusted by the Three Seers to the three rulers...
In the skies where Odin was soaring...
Odin watched as Medusa slowly raised her hands.
Suddenly...
Thousands of serpents emerged from around her.
Some were as large as massive warships, while others rivaled entire mountains in size.
They all rushed toward him at once, surrounding him from every direction in the sky, attempting to seal off every possible escape route.
Odin calmly observed the serpents.
Then he shifted his gaze to Medusa below.
Slowly, he raised his spear.
In the next instant...
A tremendous gale erupted around him, unleashed by the aura surrounding his body.
The violent winds slammed into the swarms of serpents.
The smaller and weaker snakes were torn from the sky and hurled away before crashing back into the ocean.
As for the gigantic serpents...
Bolts of lightning rained down from the heavens, striking them one after another and burning them as they continued their advance.
But...
Odin felt it wasn't enough.
He raised his free hand toward the sky.
Suddenly...
A colossal bolt of lightning descended from the clouds into his palm.
He compressed it, condensing its power until it became even more stable and destructive.
Then he unleashed it directly at Medusa.
The lightning shot forward like a spear of pure thunder, tearing through the heavens and annihilating everything in its path.
Medusa watched the bolt racing toward her.
Then she suddenly raised her arm.
In a single instant...
Thick black scales covered it.
She blocked the lightning with ease, as though it were nothing more than an ordinary attack.
Odin raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.
But he did not stop.
Instead, he ordered his winged steed to charge straight at Medusa.
In less than a second...
The steed burst through the swarms of giant and smaller serpents alike, leaving them all behind before reaching Medusa directly.
Medusa looked at Odin.
She saw him attacking with his spear openly and directly, without hesitation or deception.
For a brief moment...
She was caught off guard.
Black scales rapidly spread across her entire body in an attempt to defend herself.
But...
Odin's spear pierced straight through them.
It inflicted only a light wound upon Medusa.
Drops of blood trickled down her arm.
Medusa's eyes widened.
Her expression darkened with obvious irritation.
She immediately decided to attack with all her power.
But...
Just as she was about to move...
She suddenly turned her head toward the distant horizon.
She had sensed an overwhelming surge of power.
Then she exclaimed in surprise,
"The Archangel... He's fighting the Demon King!"
That brief moment...
Was all it took.
She lost her concentration for a single second.
And Odin...
Was never the type to let such an opportunity slip away.
He paid no attention to what was happening elsewhere.
He did not concern himself with the battle between the Archangel and the Demon King.
Nor with the war that would soon erupt between the Giants and the Dragons.
When Odin fought seriously...
His opponent was the only thing he saw.
Nothing in the world could distract him...
Unless it concerned Asgard.
Without hesitation...
He seized the opportunity.
Driving his spear forward with all his strength...
He struck the exact same spot he had pierced the first time.
Because of the previous wound...
The spear penetrated her body far more easily.
But...
The moment he did...
He deliberately left the spear lodged inside her body.
Then he immediately ordered his winged steed to retreat.
He had sensed that Medusa had completely lost her composure.
And he knew that her rage might drive her to unleash her true power.
Indeed...
Medusa's eyes opened wide.
She screamed with overwhelming fury,
"How dare you... catch me off guard?!"
The instant those words left her lips...
Black scales spread across every inch of her body.
Her body began to grow at an astonishing rate.
Little by little...
Her bones expanded.
The black scales completely enveloped her body.
Her form gradually transformed into that of a colossal, world-destroying serpent.
Within only a few seconds...
She stood before Odin as a monstrous being, half woman and half serpent, her immense body as large as an entire island.
Odin was genuinely stunned by the sight.
He could still sense the spear he had embedded in her body.
It had neither shattered nor been destroyed.
At that realization...
He calmed himself.
His eyes narrowed as he stared at the terrifying giant before him.
Then he said in genuine astonishment,
"How... How did you become this enormous? You've grown even larger than the Giants themselves."
