Chapter 17 - Sensing danger

After several months had passed, and the siblings had settled and finished building several houses on top of the mountain with the help of the slaves, Odin and his siblings stood watching what they had accomplished.

Poseidon said: "My siblings, don't you think the houses are a bit primitive?"

His siblings looked at him, and Athena said: "What did you expect? None of us knows how to build houses. This is already the best we have."

Then Odin spoke, saying: "Don't worry, the appearance of the house we will settle in will not remain like this. This is just a preliminary work until we finish the matter of the lineage."

When Odin said that, Hades asked: "Have you seen the form of our house in the future, Odin?" When Hades said that, all his siblings looked at him, waiting for an answer.

When Odin saw that they were determined to know the truth, he replied: "Yes, I have glimpsed parts of the future. This place will be different from what you see now."

When Athena heard him, she replied: "How will it look then, Odin?" Poseidon also spoke, saying: "Yes, how will it be? Will it be like our old house on the island?"

Odin responded: "No, it will not look like that place." When his siblings heard him, they felt a little disappointed, but he continued, saying: "It will be more magnificent and majestic than our old house."

When his siblings heard what he said, the sadness they had vanished. Hades said: "Why didn't you say that from the beginning?" Poseidon spoke: "Yes, Odin, why do you always do that? Can't you ever tell the whole truth?"

Then Athena spoke: "Yes, Poseidon is right, Odin, you have a bad habit in that."

When Odin heard their complaints, he laughed heartily at what they said, and replied: "You are the ones who do not listen until the end, always rushing to know things and never waiting until I reveal them in front of you."

When Odin said that, his siblings looked at him unconvinced. Hades said: "That's only because you have the ability to see the future, so you say that." Poseidon said: "Yes, Hades is right. You always tease us and never give the full information."

Athena agreed with her siblings' opinion and added: "Yes, you always like to watch others misunderstand what you say."

When his siblings said that, he was about to respond, but suddenly he felt the same strange sensation he had felt months ago, only this time it was stronger. He tried to focus on that feeling, but it disappeared without a trace. No matter how much he searched or sensed, he could not reach a result as he did the previous time.

When his siblings saw Odin in that state, Poseidon asked: "Are you okay, Odin?"

When Odin heard Poseidon, he stopped searching for what he had been sensing, feeling nothing. He looked at his worried siblings and said: "It was the same feeling I felt months ago, but this time it is stronger."

When his siblings heard what he said, Athena replied: "What did you feel, Odin?" Hades also asked: "Is it dangerous?"

When Odin heard his siblings, he was silent for a moment and said: "No, it is not like that. The feeling I sensed was as if someone is warning me about something, but I don't know what it is."

When Poseidon heard that, he replied: "Is it our father?" Hades then said: "If it is our father, why should we be concerned about it?" Athena asked Odin: "Was it our father who was warning you, Odin?"

When she said that, she was excited, for she thought she wouldn't hear anything about their father so soon. When Odin heard what they said, he thought for a moment and said:

"It could be our father who was warning me, but I couldn't understand what he wanted me to be warned about; it was just a fleeting sensation."

When his siblings heard what he said, they pondered and thought about what their father might be warning them about. Seeing them in that state, thinking deeply, Odin said:

"Don't worry about it at this time. It's time for us to focus on the matter of our lineage. I will take care of it and find out if it really was our father who was warning me, and what he was warning me about. What matters now is that we focus fully on the lineage; that should be our concern at this moment."

When Odin said that, everyone agreed, for it was impossible for them to know the danger by thinking alone. They left the matter to Odin to understand what was going on. Then Athena said:

"You are right, Odin. It would be difficult to know the danger through thought alone. You are the only one with predictive abilities."

Hades added: "We must not forget that the priority is the matter of the lineage; it is the way to achieve immortality." Poseidon agreed and said:

"You are right, Hades. The matter of the lineage is the priority, and as Athena said, Odin has predictive abilities. He alone can know where the danger lies."

When Odin saw that they understood and were willing to leave this matter to him, he said:

"Do not worry about it, I will handle it. Do not fear. I do not think there is any danger on this island that we cannot face. And do not forget, our father is with us at all times, everywhere around us."

When he said that, everyone looked around and their confidence grew, for their father was with them everywhere. After reflecting on this, Odin said to his siblings:

"Do not worry, nothing will happen to us as long as we are on Asgard."

When Odin said that, his siblings remembered that their father had named the island. Athena said:

"That's right, Odin. Do you know why our father named the island this way?"

When Athena said that, she and her siblings looked at Odin. He replied:

"No, I don't know why he named it that, but what I do know is that our father has become Asgard."

When Odin said that, they thought for a moment, and then Hades asked:

"So, when we speak to our father, do we call him Zeus or Asgard?"

Odin replied:

"I think he changed his name after ascending and becoming the island, so his name is now the same as the island: Asgard."

When Odin said that, Athena said:

"You are right, Odin. I believe our father did change his name after he ascended and became Asgard. So when we communicate with him in the future, we should address him by this name."

When Athena said that, her siblings agreed. Seeing that it was getting late, Odin said to his siblings:

"Let us rest today, my siblings, and continue our discussion tomorrow."

Everyone agreed, and each went to their own house. When Odin was going to his house, he saw a servant of the jinn, with threads of destiny wrapping around her. Seeing that, Odin was astonished and remembered that the woman before him was no ordinary jinn.

He recalled his mother's words that she was the daughter of the jinn saint, and she was supposed to be presented as the next saint, but his father had ordered her to be kidnapped to become one of their slaves. When he remembered that and looked at the threads of destiny around her, he realized that she would be the first from whom his lineage would come, and he knew that the child she would bear would be exceptional, with a high chance of awakening their power.

As he watched the threads of destiny around her, his attention scattered, for he felt the same sensation he had felt before, only this time it was stronger. He focused all his power to understand what this sensation was, and as he concentrated, he saw some blurry visions of a sleeping giant made of fire. The vision was unclear, and he could not tell if it was real.

When he tried to see more, he could not, for he collided with an invisible wall, and the vision he saw vanished. When he came out of his focus, thinking about what he had seen and its meaning, he only knew one thing: the one showing him this vision was his father, warning him of something or someone that would happen in the future, though he could not know when or what exactly would occur.
