Zap!
Roy's palm surged with golden lightning, forming a blade. He slashed through the moss on the walls, revealing the stone beneath. The rock was quivering,增生—it was pulsating in a way that made one's skin crawl.
The reason it was so quiet was that someone had been intentionally damaging the walls. The Dungeon prioritizes repairing walls over spawning monsters—a rule adventurers use to create safe resting spots. Someone had carefully staged this scene.
Roy didn't care either way; if he were alone, he'd have left already. Unlike the Rudra remnants, these were adventurers who knew the risks of their trade. But he wanted to see what the elf girl would do.
Blades drew closer. The mages in the back began to chant. Time was running out. Ryuu's face was a mask of agony.
Choose the first one! Just leave! a voice roared in her mind. But the flickering ember of justice in her heart held her back. Alise... what would you do?

She caught Roy's calm gaze. It was like a clear stream flowing through her chaotic thoughts. If she chose to run, Roy might not judge her, but she would lose the respect she had for herself.
Ryuu took a deep breath. She looked at Roy and mouthed the words: "I want to save everyone!"
The shadow that had hung over her since her Familia's destruction vanished. A new light shone on her face. To Roy, she had never looked more beautiful.
"I'll handle the Enhanced Species," Roy smiled. "You protect Daphne and Cassandra. Don't be too kind—break the adventurers' legs if you have to. And keep damaging the walls so no monsters spawn!"
Using his boots' effect, Roy bolted forward like a flash of lightning.
"Wait—!" Ryuu tried to stop him, but it was too late.
Roy plunged into the 25th floor. He was met by the Great Blue Falls—a massive cataract four hundred meters wide. The crashing water glowed like blue emeralds, a sight so beautiful it made one forget the lethality of the Dungeon.
Roy didn't stop to admire the view. He charged toward the source of the singing. Crab monsters—Blue Kans—spawned in the dozens, their massive pincers snapping. Roy cleaved through them with his lightning blades, reducing them to ash in seconds. At Level 3, he was overqualified for this floor.
BOOM!
The river exploded as a Large Mouth—a giant fish monster—lunged at him. Roy spun, materialized a spear, and drove it into the beast's belly. He kept moving, reaching a cliff where the singing was loudest.
"Get out here!"
He rounded the cliff and saw a creature with a human upper body and a fish tail: a Mermaid. She sat on a rock, her face a mask of sorrow, weeping as she sang. Roy's spear shifted into a giant axe as he swung down.
Clang!
The "sorrowful" face vanished, replaced by a hideous snarl. The Mermaid caught the axe blade in her serrated teeth. Her jaw strength was incredible; sparks flew as she grinned at Roy. Roy realized his physical pull wouldn't work, so he let go of the axe, letting it dissolve into a massive surge of electricity.
The Mermaid shrieked in pain and dove into the water, her tail propelling her away with incredible speed. Roy tossed a lightning orb into the water—electric fishing!
Water exploded, but the Mermaid was gone. Roy's face darkened. Did she really get away?
In a corner, another Mermaid poked her head out from behind a rock, watching him timidly. Roy, now used to killing everything in sight, summoned more lightning.
The beautiful Mermaid burst into tears, waving her hands frantically. "Wait! I am not your enemy...!"
