"Luminous Wind!"
Following Roy's command, the elf girl began her chant without hesitation. Her elegant golden figure flickered through the horde, striking down monsters left and right. As her clear voice finished the incantation, a dense cluster of emerald light orbs manifested and surged forward, vaporizing every monster they touched. A clear path was blasted open.
"Move!" Roy yelled.
The four of them sprinted through the gap and dove into the passage. The monsters behind them stopped at the boundary, eventually turning away. Upon entering the 18th floor, the "Safe Zone," the group finally exhaled.
"I thought I was a goner," Daphne and Cassandra said, hugging each other.
Roy and Ryuu shared a smile. Against a Monster Party of that scale, any other Level 2 party would have been wiped out or forced to retreat to the surface. They had punched straight through it.
"What now?" Ryuu asked.
Roy felt like he had become the elf girl's external brain. "We rest for a day. We'll pitch tents in the wild; the town is too expensive."
Roy had stored twenty days of food and water in his ring. They set up camp and later visited the equipment grave of Ryuu's former comrades, Alise and the others, to lay a bouquet of fresh flowers. Seeing the somber mood, Roy suggested, "Let's check out the town. I've never been."
"Yay!" The girls' exhaustion seemed to vanish at the mention of shopping.
Rivira Town, the town of adventurers on the 18th floor, was built atop a 200-meter cliff. It was a lawless town where the law of the jungle prevailed. Roy led them through the tents and stalls, but he refused to stay at an inn where prices were ten times higher than the surface.

"Hey, did you hear? Someone else went missing!"
Suddenly, they noticed a crowd of adventurers rushing in one direction. Roy and Ryuu exchanged a grave look. "Let's see what's happening," Roy said. In the Dungeon, information was survival.
At the center of a hundred-strong crowd stood a massive man with a black eye patch—Bors Elder, a Level 3 veteran and a key figure in Rivira.
"Gale, and Justice's Sprout," Bors called out. Since the War Game had been broadcast, everyone knew their faces. "You arrived at the right time. There's a bizarre monster on the 24th floor. Over a dozen high-level adventurers have vanished. We suspect it's an Enhanced Species."
The crowd erupted in a frenzy. An Enhanced Species was a nightmare—monsters with unique abilities and danger levels rivaling Floor Bosses.
"We are forming a subjugation party," Bors stated. "You're heading to the 24th floor for your expedition anyway. If we don't kill this thing, your mission won't succeed."
Roy pondered for a moment. "Fine. But we just fought through a Monster Party on the 17th. We need a night's rest."
"Fine, but I can only give you five hours," Bors grunted.
Back at the tents, Roy pulled out a high-quality silk pillow from his space ring and tossed it to Cassandra. "Be a good girl and go to sleep."
