Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Feel the Thunder!

When Roy got up, the Grimoire he had been lying on was revealed. The bizarre script on it had disappeared, turning the pages blank.

Ryuu's sharp eyes immediately noticed it.

"A Grimoire?!"

As an experienced adventurer, the elven girl quickly understood, combining the book with Roy's previous dazed state, that he had been viewing a Grimoire.

This boy was truly too mysterious. By now, even if he pulled out a Grimoire worth hundreds of millions of Valis, the elven girl wouldn't be too surprised and had no interest in investigating its source.

"Did you succeed?"

Ryuu asked, but seeing the excited expression on Roy's face, there seemed to be no need to ask. She politely offered her congratulations, "Congratulations. And now you should probably get out of Lady Astrea's bed."

Knowing that Roy had fainted on Goddess Astrea's bed after viewing the Grimoire, Ryuu's cold, icy face returned to normal.

Although he was reluctant to leave Goddess Astrea's soft, fragrant bed, the joy of acquiring Magic was superior. Roy was completely immersed in it and, without paying attention, excitedly ran out of the room.

After dinner, Roy couldn't wait to leave the Star Garden and head to the Dungeon. He didn't know what kind of watchful eyes might be on him on the surface.

It would be better to test his Magic inside the Dungeon.

Ryuu stood by the window, watching Roy—who was running faster than a scared rabbit—flash quickly through the darkness.

During dinner, she had learned that Roy had leveled up to LV.2 and acquired Magic. This terrifying growth rate was baffling.

Ryuu didn't know when Roy had received his Falna, but watching his Ability Scores skyrocket time and again, she was certain that the time it took Roy to advance from LV.1 to LV.2 was shorter than for Ais Wallenstein.

"Sigh!"

The elven girl sighed helplessly, quietly picked up her wooden sword, put on her cloak, and left the Star Garden, following closely behind Roy.

A novice who has just acquired Magic often gets excited and casts spells recklessly, leading to mental exhaustion and fainting. This could be dangerous in the night-time of Orario or the Dungeon.

After fighting alongside him many times, Roy's calm and steady image was deeply ingrained in her mind. She had expected Roy to be able to restrain such an impulse.

Now it seemed there was a side to him she didn't know. Her overwhelming sense of responsibility made it impossible for her to simply watch.

The praying mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind it.

Goddess Astrea watched Ryuu secretly follow and protect Roy, a smile like that of an auntie appearing on her face.

Before the last War Game, Guild staffer Remmel came to the Star Garden to confirm Roy's Familia membership and conveniently handled his adventurer status.

Roy could now strut into the Dungeon openly.

In the wide plaza beneath Babel, Roy felt several gazes fall upon him.

This was not surprising.

Through the War Game against the Rudra Familia, Roy had made a name for himself. Although he was only LV.1, his fame in Orario was no less than that of some LV.2 adventurers.

Of course, most people regarded him as Ryuu's sidekick. A mere LV.1 was cannon fodder in a War Game, and no one thought he was useful.

Regardless, he was famous!

In those gazes, Roy sensed contempt, ridicule, and a hint of malice.

Adventurers were perhaps the group of people who valued fame and fortune the most, and Roy had suddenly appeared like a dark horse.

LV.1 adventurers felt, "If we're both LV.1, why are you getting all the attention?" LV.2 adventurers were annoyed that Roy was even more famous than they were.

A smirk hung on Roy's lips. He didn't consider these small fry a threat at all.

They wouldn't dare attack him.

If some hothead did dare to rush him, Roy might actually respect him more, but these old-timers cherished their lives too much. They would never have that kind of courage.

Entering the Dungeon, Roy didn't venture too deep, stopping only on the fifth floor in a cavern. The purpose was to test his Magic, not to explore the Dungeon.

Pang! Pang! Pang!

The walls cracked open. Seven or eight Goblins and Earth Spirits leaped out, immediately locking onto Roy.

Lord of Thunder!

An excited smile spread across Roy's face. With a thought, he channeled the Magic Power within his body.

The moment he awakened Magic, the method of using the spell instantly appeared in his mind, like a biological instinct.

Generally, activating Magic requires a chant and consumes the corresponding mental power (Magic). The longer the chant, the greater the corresponding power.

His Magic, however, was extremely rare, requiring no chant and activating simply by channeling his Magic Power.

Crackle! Sizzle!

Magic Power surged within Roy, and golden lightning erupted across his skin, making crackling sounds. He looked like the God of Thunder had descended.

At this point, all the golden lightning on him converged, forming a golden human figure. Its outline was very close to his own, with small electric snakes flashing across its surface.

"Go. Take them out!" Roy commanded.

The lightning avatar responded instantly, streaking past like actual lightning. It charged into the monster group and began a slaughter, quickly eliminating numerous monsters.

Roy observed the lightning avatar's combat.

He had consumed 15% of his mental power. This lightning avatar was equivalent to an LV.1 adventurer with all Ability Scores at A-rank, with added lightning attribute to its attacks.

Dealing with the monsters on the fifth floor was no problem.

Bang!

Just then, the wall next to Roy cracked open. Three Goblins leaped out and rushed toward him.

"Change!"

Roy casually glanced at the Goblins, his expression unchanged. He slightly moved his lips.

The form of the lightning avatar instantly changed, transforming from a human shape into a giant wolf, standing a meter tall on all fours, its eyes shining brightly.

Just as the Goblins were about to touch Roy, the golden wolf figure flashed past, incredibly swift. Its ferocious jaws snapped off the heads of the three Goblins.

Roy seemed to realize something. The smile at the corner of his mouth grew wider. He walked up to the golden giant wolf and placed his large hand on its head.

"Change again!"

Roy envisioned the shape of a greatsword.

Sure enough, the form of the lightning giant wolf transformed again, becoming the greatsword he had imagined. Golden electricity wrapped around the massive blade.

Wielding this Thunder Greatsword, Roy swept through the Dungeon monsters. It was as if he had activated a cheat code: one strike, 999 damage, instantly obliterating large swathes of monsters.

Finally, the greatsword transformed into a golden sphere of lightning and landed in Roy's hand. He casually tossed it out.

Boom!!

The golden lightning sphere exploded upon hitting the monster group. The terrifying force instantly vaporized thirty or forty monsters, leaving no Magic Stones behind.

"Hahahahaha!"

Roy could no longer suppress the joy in his heart, bursting into wild laughter. Lord of Thunder—the Magic that controlled thunder.

He could freely change the form of the lightning. With enough Magic Power, continuously casting the spell could even allow him to summon a vast army.
