Chapter 1 - pain

Y-you can't do this! A woman in the official white nurses dress screamed. Her face a mix of terror and shock staring at the figure in front.

Says here I can. The young man nonchalantly replied. In his grip was a black hand gun.

B-but we tried our best. We're sorry she didn't make it okay? She winced dread filling into the depts of her soul. She was the only one among the 8 staffs present still alive. Her cloth stained with blood dripping from the cut on her forehead.

Tried our best. The young man paused replaying those words in his head.

I hate that bullshit word. He frowned a vein bulging on the side of his forehead. Seeing this the already freightened nurse felt her sould exclude her body.

Hey.. you're making a mess. Ray clicked his tongue seeing the familiar yellow liquid potrude from her.

I'm so sorry! Please.. l-let me go and I promise you won't ever see me again. She pleaded but fell into deaf ears.

And why should I do that? He calmly asked with a wide grin that made her shiver in her tracks.

B-because I have kids! She professed hoping it would have any effect on this deranged psycho.

Tsk.. big difference.

Fine. Take all I have! I promise to give you more if it's not enough. I-i just want to live for my kids. She uttered her voice shaky in absolute fear.

Every wince of her screamed to get out from her. To fled and never look back. She imagined scenarios of fighting back, tackling the young man. Considering he was thin she wouldn't have much of a problem overpowering him with a sneak attack.

But still there was this undeniable thought if her plan went wrong.

Shit. She cursed taking a deep gulp. She struggled to keep her body still but she couldn't. The smell of blood filled the air from the seven dead bodies of her once colleagues. Stacked together besides her.

Damnit. It was meant to be just a normal day. I only started my shift today..

Panic surged in her thumping heart that seemed to crawl out of her chest any moment now.

Taking a glance she could see the young teen in a dilemma. Mumbling some inaudible words, presumably conflicted with himself.

Now's my chance. Not deliberating further she surged into action. With a defiant heart she kicked the man shifting him off balance.

Using the advantage she grabbed the hand with the gun. Pushing him with her slightly superior weight.

Bam!

The bathroom door cracked slightly from the force. Not stopping she slammed his hand continuously in attempt to disarm him.

Stupid bitch! Biting his lips he sank his teeth into her neck. Drawing out warm blood causing her grip to falter. Not wavering he slammed his foot to her gut sending her crashing down hard.

You know.. for a second there i thought of releasing you. Hearing that a glimmer of sparkle appeared in her eyes.

But. He continued making her spark grow dim. I think I'm gonna have some fun before killing you.

FEW MOMENTS EARLIER...

It's sunny today. Ray blankly said staring upwards at the sun. It's rays reflecting against his eyes, which he didn't mind.

A dull expression plastered to his lifeless face.

Oh well, best not to be late. A light sigh escaped his lips.

He was currently on a walkway, heading down a oath connecting to several routes. Reaching the end, he took the left route. Making his way past the massive crowds of people.

Fools. He muttered, glancing a peek at some random people. Shaking his head, he continued in his journey. Amidst the grand luxurious buildings, mounted by the sides.

Almost there. Maintaining his composure he took another left, arriving in a more secluded street.

Arod haven. He inwardly read the sign. A bit if anger flashed across his dull face, vanishing the next second.

Don't tell me your forgot your purse Rebecca. A young man in his 20's frowned.

He was dressed quite stylishly, wearing a nice tailored black suit. With fitting sllek back pants and shoes.

Topping it up with a clean razor cut hair, matching his smooth porcelain face.

Hmph! It's not my fault, you're the one who wanted another photoshoot. Anna the blonde haired beauty clapped back.

She wore a brown coat, perfectly fitting her shape. Highlighting her blossoms and curves. Ending with some white tight fitting pants, that did little to hide her behind

Wealthy class. Ray clicked his tongue staring at the oair. He knew pretty well who these two were, frequently broadcasted on the news.

Anna vox. Daughter of billionaire daddy, Vincent vox. Raised by both parents int he most luxurious manner, one would consider insane.

Pampered by mother Emily, and spoilt by father Vincent. She lived most her life in the 18 house mansion, bestowed by daddy. Along with the dozens of guards, and maids at her disposal

The typical spoilt daddy's girl turned model. The latter on the other hand besides her, was none other than Thompson clay. Her manager.

Unlike anna with access to most things, Thompson wasn't so privileged. Coming from an average class family, working his way up to this position.

Quite the global personality, having millions of fans which Ray cared less.

In his eyes, they were just another set of rich bastards.

Shrugging, he walked past them. Maintaining a nice distance of 6 meters apart. Still indulged in arguing they were completely unaware of him.

Omg! Anna suddenly exclaimed, protecting her nostrils with her white handkerchief.

What?

That smell. It's so.. ugh! It's like something died. She pouted unable to take it anymore.

See.. I told you we shouldn't be out this long. Thompson gestured towards the car, not complaining she entered.

Wait a minute. Who's that guy? He paused staring at Ray's back, some miles afar.

He couldn't recognize him which was weird, as all the people living here were of rich and high prestige. Already aquianted with poperazzies, and elaborate lifestyles.

Could be an outcast, but what's he doing here? Thinking about it, his attention was pulled by a honk.

Idiots. Ray thought still advancing. He'd heard Anna's whining, but ignored her. They were irrelevant to his cause right now.

Pearl life center. He slowly read, stopping at a two story building. His fist tightened beneath his hoodie pockets.

Steadying himself, he approached the black gate.

What do you want? The slightly bulky security personnel asked. Not speaking, ray remained silent. Simply looking downwards.

Who the hell is this kid? The guard fumed, profiling ray.

At first glance his personality was strange, and his attire only added more suspicions. Reaching for the alarm on the wall the latter suddenly raised his head.

Oh.. it's you. He said, Immediately recognizing him. Why are you here? I thought you'd been-

I came because I got a call from the hospital. There are still some bills and firms I need to clear. Hearing him his explanation was logical.

Slipping his ID card to the side of the wall, a beep was heard. Followed by the retracting sounds of the gate sliding open.

Entering, he didn't waste time. Making his way into the reception.

Welcome to pearl life how many i- he was greeted by a familiar staff upon entrance. Ignoring her, his eyes scanned the small reception. Locating another pair of eyes, staring at him.

Then with a sick smile, he waved at the older woman and man. Heading upstairs through the steps, to the top floor.

Hey! You're not allowed to go up there. The female staff called out, but ray paid deaf ears.

The air feels heavier. He inhaled the cold air, which became damp.

No. There's no turning back now.

Making his way through the hallway to the last room. There was a small nurses station opposite the room, with few nurses present.

Giving an awkward smile he waved at them. Entering the room, there was only two beds present. The first was already occupied by an elderly woman, in her late 50's. Her back faced ray, while she buried herself in her smartphone.

Click!

The lock sound of the door drew her attention. Eyes wide open staring at the hooded figure.

Y-you-

Shh! We don't want to make her now, would we. A sinister smile formed, sending fear into her heart. Frantically nodding, she understood what he meant. Refraining from attracting trouble.

It's here~ this is where it all happened. He spoke in a low tone. The weird smile faded, replaced with a bitter one.

It's just like yesterday. The memory flashed back, precisely 5 days ago.

That night, was just like any other night. The beeping of the monitor was steady, the air cool from the fixed air conditioner.

Daddy! Daddy! A matured woman cried out. She wore the blue hospital dress, laying on the second bed. A cartridge placed, along with the IV fluid flowing into her system.

I'm here mom. Ray smiled grabbing her frail hand.

Slightly opening her eyes, it looked glazed and dull. Even her pupils appeared a bit shrunken.

I-it's hurting me. She barely uttered with little strength, locking eye contact.

I know. Sorry... You'll get well soon, I promise. He said with a reassuring smile. Gently nodding, the woman's eyes slowly closed shut.
