Chapter 26 - The Return of the Toddlers

CEO Liang and CSO Xiao Mei returned from their tropical island getaway, refreshed and more in love than ever. They were ready to resume their highly illogical corporate life.

"See, Hubby?" Xiao Mei smiled, adjusting her new Hawaiian floral dress over her professional attire. "The lack of Wi-Fi improved our emotional metrics by 400%."

"It did," Liang agreed, though he looked suspicious. "But I have a bad feeling. The house is too quiet."

As soon as they walked into the mansion, they realized why. The twins, Zhen and Xin, had not merely been supervised; they had been upgrading the home's operational system in their parents' absence.

Zhen (Logic Twin) had systematically detached all the house's power cords, labeling them with complex formulas. Xin (Chaos Twin) had replaced all the family photos with pictures of the Gummy Worm Dance performed by Liang.Liang had brought back expensive, fragile gifts for his children: a high-tech drone for Zhen and a singing porcelain doll for Xin.

They found the gifts completely disassembled on the dining table.

"Zhen! Xin! Why did you take apart your beautiful gifts?" Xiao Mei demanded, trying to sound strict, but secretly admiring the complexity of the disassembly.

Zhen, the Logician, pointed to the drone parts. "The drone had a closed-source operating system. I am attempting to reverse-engineer the flight controller to allow for autonomous gummy worm delivery."

Xin, the Chaos Agent, was holding the doll's detached voice box. "The doll only sang three songs. I am replacing the voice chip with Papa's 'Sour Gummy Worm Dance' karaoke track. The operational output was repetitive."

Liang sighed. "They treat gifts like security vulnerabilities."

Xiao Mei grinned. "That's my girl! That's high-level penetration testing! Now, let's see if we can help them patch the logic board."The next day, Liang returned to the office, expecting immediate chaos from the board members, but the office was eerily silent.

Mr. Zhao (The Annoyed Board Member) walked past Liang, humming a cheerful tune and chewing a sour gummy worm.

"Chairman, the Gummy Worm Hackathon was a massive success!" Mr. Zhao announced happily. "The security patch developed by the winning team is genius! We are calling it 'The Gummy Shield.'"

Liang stared. His wife's illogical chaos had turned a corporate disaster into a professional triumph.

He found Xiao Mei in her office, coding furiously, surrounded by empty candy wrappers.

"CSO, you turned a crisis into a new revenue stream. That deserves a reward," Liang said, walking towards her.Xiao Mei quickly deployed her own protocol.

"Chairman, you are violating the professional workspace integrity by approaching my desk without an appointment. I must enforce Protocol: Disciplinary Kiss!"

She pulled him down onto her lap and gave him a demanding, strong kiss, right in her office.

"Report, CSO?" Liang asked, breathless, completely ignoring the potential risk of being caught by the surveillance cameras.

"Report: Disciplinary action successfully executed. Emotional stability restored. However, I have discovered a new corporate vulnerability," Xiao Mei whispered, pointing to her screen. While debugging the Gummy Shield, I found an external, highly advanced network probe. It didn't come from a known rival," Xiao Mei explained, her fingers flying over the keyboard. "This hacker is using a system far beyond Li Wei's level. They are subtle, sophisticated, and they are specifically targeting your personal life data."

The terminal flashed a warning: "EXTERNAL THREAT DETECTED. ACTIVATING PHASE TWO."

Liang's face hardened. "Phase Two? We haven't had a Phase Two since the company was founded. CSO, who is this?"

Xiao Mei zoomed in on the trace route. "I don't know who it is, Hubby. But their coding style is... perfect. Too perfect. It looks exactly like the source code of the old System that initially forced me to fall in love with you."
