Chapter 44: New Form, New Feelings

As Varion leaned on the wall outside the house he heard Rumuri speak through the door.

"Varion? Um… could you do me a favor?" She sounded equal parts embarrassed and hopeful. "Could you ask Prinz to come help me find something to wear? I don't really know what fits this body yet, and I'd rather not walk out like this…"

Varion cleared his throat. "Yeah, of course. I'll get her."

He turned and spotted Prinz near the edge of the square, talking with a couple of the goblinas. She looked up the moment he approached, golden eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"Everything alright?" she asked, already stepping toward him.

"Rimuri needs help finding clothes," Varion said simply. "she got a human form and there isn't any in the house that will fit her"

Prinz's lips curved into a knowing smile. "Say no more, let me go look and see" Prinz quickly walked over to the house then came back a few minutes later. She looked at the goblinas and gave them quick instructions as she handed them a dress. "Could you three adjust one of the spare dresses we brought? Make it a little more fitted in the chest and hips — she's going to need the room."

The goblins nodded eagerly and scurried off to fetch fabric and needles. Prinz slipped past Varion and knocked lightly on the door before stepping back inside.

Inside, the two women worked quickly. Prinz helped Rimuri into a simple white dress the goblinas had altered on the spot — light, flowing fabric that draped beautifully over her new curves while still being modest enough for village life. The neckline was a soft V, the hem falling just below her knees, and the goblins had added subtle ties at the waist to accentuate her figure without making it uncomfortable. Prinz stepped back, admiring her work.

"You look amazing," she said honestly. "Ready to show everyone?"

Rimuri nodded, cheeks still a little pink. "Yeah… let's do this."

The door opened.

Rimuri stepped out into the sunlight. Her long, flowing light-blue hair caught the breeze, framing a face that was both familiar and brand new. The white dress hugged her generous chest and flared gently at the hips, the fabric shifting with every step. She stood there for a moment, hands clasped nervously in front of her, golden-yellow eyes scanning the square.

Varion's breath caught.

He stared, unable to look away. The way the sunlight played across her skin, the soft jiggle of her chest as she shifted her weight, the confident yet slightly shy posture. His face flushed a deep red and he swallowed hard, eyes tracing her form before he caught himself and quickly looked away.

Rimuri noticed. Her own cheeks turned bright pink, but instead of hiding, she straightened up a little more, subtly preening under his obvious attention. A small, pleased smile tugged at her lips.

Ellen and the others turned at the sound of the door. Ellen's eyes widened. "Whoa… Rimuri? Is that really you?"

Rimuri nodded, giving a small spin so the dress flared. "Yup! Shizu passed away… but she asked me to take her with me. I absorbed her body after she passed. This is what I look like now."

The adventurers listened in stunned silence as Rimuri explained what had happened inside the house. Ellen's face fell when she heard about Shizu's death, her usual bright energy dimming for a moment as she teared up.

"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "She seemed like a good person."

Rimuri gave a small, sad smile. "She was. But she's still with me now. I'll carry her memories."

The adventurers were given fresh supplies and new gear from Kaijin's stock. They said their goodbyes and headed down the forest path, waving until they disappeared among the trees.

Later that night, the village square was alive with celebration.

The goblins had declared it a feast night the moment Rimuri learned she could finally taste food again. Long tables groaned under platters of roasted meat, fresh bread, stews, and sweet fruits. Lanterns hung from every post, casting a warm glow over the square. Music and laughter filled the air as the villagers danced and ate.

Rimuri was practically glowing with excitement. She bounced over to Varion the moment he sat down, throwing her arms around one of his and hugging it tightly to her chest. The softness and heaviness of her breasts sandwiched his arm perfectly between them as she leaned in close.

"Varion, this is so exciting!" she gushed, voice bright and full of joy. "I can actually taste things now! I haven't had real food in forever, I'm going to try everything!"

Varion froze, face turning a deep shade of red as he felt the warm, soft weight around his arm. He tried to focus on her words, nodding along while his brain short-circuited. "Y-yeah… that's great, Rimuri."

Prinz, sitting on his other side, noticed immediately. A mischievous sparkle lit her golden eyes. Without a word she slid closer and wrapped her own arms around his free arm, pressing it firmly between her own generous chest in the same way. She gave him a sweet, innocent smile.

Varion's face went even redder. He was now trapped between two beautiful women, both hugging his arms tightly to their chests.

Rimuri pouted instantly, noticing Prinz stealing part of his attention. "Hey, that's not fair—" She stopped mid-sentence as she realized what Prinz was doing. Her cheeks exploded into a bright, fiery blush. For a second she looked ready to pull away… then, instead, she squeezed Varion's arm even tighter against herself, puffing her chest out a little more while still pouting at Prinz.

Prinz just grinned wider, clearly enjoying the game.

Varion sat perfectly still between them, face burning, trying desperately to focus on the feast while both women pressed warmly against him. The goblins cheered and laughed around them, completely unaware of the quiet battle happening at the table.

The night of the feast stretched long into the early hours. Lanterns swayed gently in the breeze as the goblins danced and sang around the central fire. Rimuri stayed glued to Varion's side the entire evening, her new body still a novelty she couldn't quite get used to. Every time she laughed or leaned in to talk, her chest would brush against his arm, and she'd blush but not pull away. Prinz, never one to be outdone, mirrored the action on his other side with a playful wink. Varion sat between them, face steadily red, trying (and failing) to focus on the food and conversation while two beautiful women pressed warmly against him.

The next morning, the village woke to a new rhythm.

Rimuri threw herself into village life with boundless energy. She spent hours helping the goblins with the final touches on the houses, testing her new limbs. But more and more, her attention drifted to Varion. She'd find excuses to walk beside him when he was helping. Her hand would brush his arm "accidentally" when passing him things. She laughed a little too loudly at his jokes and lingered a little too long when their eyes met.

She was clumsy about it,she was in a brand-new body, trying to navigate feelings she hadn't felt before. She'd catch herself staring at him while he trained, then look away quickly, cheeks burning. Seeing Prinz lean against him so easily during meals made something twist in her chest, not full jealousy, but more of a quiet longing. 'I want him to look at me like that too' she thought, puffing her chest out a little more when he glanced her way.

Varion noticed the change. He didn't comment, but his smiles grew softer whenever she hovered nearby. He started seeking her out, asking her opinion on things more, walking with her around the village, sitting beside her during evening meals. The attraction was mutual between them.

Almost a whole week and a half after the feast, Rimuri had grown bolder. She'd "accidentally" bump into him while carrying supplies, letting her hand linger on his arm. During one quiet afternoon, she found him sitting alone watching the village bustling. Without thinking, she plopped down right next to him, closer than necessary, her thigh brushing his. When he looked over, she smiled shyly and didn't move away.

Varion set the sword down. "You've been sticking close lately," he said, voice gentle, a small smile playing on his lips.

Rimuri's cheeks flushed, but she didn't look away. "Is that… bad?"

"No," he replied, eyes warm. "Not at all."

As he sat there beside her lost in thought when he suddenly said her name. "Rimuri."

"yea?"

He took a breath, then smiled. "I've been thinking… We've both been dancing around this for a while now. I see no reason to wait. Would you like to go on a date with me? Nothing fancy, just a walk through the forest, maybe talk for a bit then end on a picnic. Just the two of us."

Rimuri's heart skipped a beat and her cheeks flushed bright pink, but the smile that spread across her face was radiant. "Yes!!! I- I mean I'd love that" she said quickly, almost tripping over the word.

The next afternoon they slipped away from the village together. The forest path was peaceful, sunlight filtering through the canopy in golden shafts. They walked side by side, talking about everything and nothing, stories from their old worlds, their lives before getting here, Rimuri's excitement about finally tasting real food again. The conversation flowed easily, comfortable and warm.

Halfway through the walk, Rimuri's hand brushed his. She hesitated for a second, shy and awkward, then boldly reached out and laced her fingers with his. Her palm was warm, but she held on tight. When he didn't pull away, her smile grew so wide it lit up her entire face. She beamed, practically glowing with happiness, swinging their joined hands gently as they continued down the path.

Varion glanced down at their hands, then at her radiant expression, and felt something warm settle in his chest. He squeezed her fingers once, gently.
