Chapter 75 - Chapter 67: People Change

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ser Mufasa. My brother often speaks of you. He says you are skilled in martial arts and full of compassion! Your virtues rival those of the legendary knights!" Margaery's smile was like a blooming flower, and her words were deadly sweet.

Mufasa couldn't help but admire her. The most formidable member of the Tyrell family wasn't Loras, nor Garlan, but Margaery.

"Lady Rose's beauty is also renowned throughout the Seven Kingdoms; the Rose of Highgarden truly lives up to its name! Hahahaha!" Mufasa said.

After the pleasantries, Margaery had another ball to attend, so she left with Loras.

The House Stark also came to take Sansa home.

In the end, only Mufasa and Myrcella remained.

"Alright, let's head back too!"

Mufasa remembered the bicycle he had left outside last night, but now it was nowhere to be found.

"Sigh! As expected of King's Landing!"

"Myrcella, you go back to The Red Keep hall first! I'll go look for the bicycle!"

Mufasa called over some nearby Gold Cloaks and asked if anyone had seen a bicycle. They all shook their heads.

"Don't you patrol at night?" Mufasa asked.

"Ser Mufasa, people from the Tyrell family invited us for drinks last night! So..."

The Gold Cloaks looked fearfully at Mufasa's gradually darkening expression.

"It seems the King's Landing City Watch needs some rectification," Mufasa said.

He then went to the King's Landing City Watch Headquarters and met Janos Slynt.

He was bald, big, and looked imposing, but in reality, he was a coward.

Jaime had told him this.

Janos Slynt was also close to House Lannister, and when he saw Mufasa, he immediately greeted him with a smile.

"Ser Mufasa, what brings you here! Come, come, sit. Someone, bring me the Dornish wine and let Ser Mufasa quench his thirst!"

Janos Slynt roared.

Mufasa sat on a wolf fur chair, stretched out his legs, and propped them on Janos Slynt's desk.

"Ser Mufasa, I haven't offended you in any way, have I?" he asked.

"Not before, but suddenly yesterday, I did!"

Mufasa recounted losing his bicycle at the masquerade ball, specifically emphasizing that people from the Tyrell family had invited a Gold Cloak captain and his subordinates for drinks.

"Ser Mufasa, rest assured, I will immediately dismiss that captain, and I will find your bicycle for you."

Janos Slynt promised.

Then he began to complain.

"The population of King's Landing has increased again, all because of the Hand's Tourney. Security is very chaotic! We can't even afford to pay our salaries!"

Mufasa found it amusing to see him pretending to be poor.

"Gold Dragons, you say! The House Lannister is never short of Gold Dragons, because we have mountains of gold and silver!" Mufasa said.

Mufasa sat in Janos Slynt's seat, and in less than half a day, the bicycle was found, along with a blacksmith.

When Mufasa saw his appearance, he was stunned.

Tobho Mott.

"Ser Mufasa, you're here, just in time. Please put in a good word for me. I didn't do anything; someone just sold that bicycle to me!"

"Old Tobho! You have good taste!" Mufasa said.

"That kind of technology seems to exceed current limits, but it's not impossible to replicate!" Old Tobho said.

"You can replicate it?" Mufasa became even more curious about his craftsmanship.

Even though bicycle technology still relies on human-powered mechanics, it shouldn't be reproducible in this era!

"When I was young, I went to Volantis and learned some techniques inherited from Valyria there."

"Alright, if you can copy it and build another bicycle for me, you won't have to go to jail," Mufasa said.

"No problem! Give me half a month."

"Okay, I'll come to your smithy to find you then. You can't run anyway, so you can go home for now."

Mufasa said.

In the Hand's Tower, the Eddard Stark family was having breakfast, and Sansa Stark was the last to arrive.

"Sansa, where were you last night?" Arya asked while drinking porridge.

"I went to a masquerade ball!" she said.

"Well, did you find out who Lady Rose was?" Catelyn asked.

When she was young, she also held a masquerade ball in Riverrun, and at that time, she was called the Mermaid Maiden. Some also called her the Red-haired Songstress because she sang beautifully back then.

"She is Ser Loras the Knight of Flowers' sister, Miss Margaery Tyrell."

"Oh, she's Duke Mace's youngest daughter! But she should be older than you!" Catelyn thought for a moment and said.

"She's fourteen this year!" Sansa said.

Eddard Stark finished his meal and then went to attend the Small Council meeting. Catelyn took her daughters to do needlework with the septas.

Eddard Stark arrived at the room where the Small Council meeting was being held.

Everyone else was already seated, only Eddard Stark and King Robert had not yet arrived.

"Today, we will discuss the specific details of the Tourney and the invitations for the lords of the Seven Kingdoms!" Eddard Stark said.

Half a day later, the meeting ended.

Several people walked out of the conference room. Eddard Stark looked at Grand Maester Pycelle, who was leaving last, and asked.

"Grand Maester, may I speak a few more words with you?"

Pycelle turned around and looked at Eddard Stark in confusion.

"Lord Eddard, how may I help you?"

Eddard Stark closed the open door and told Jory Cassel, the captain of his guard.

"Do not let anyone in without my command!"

"Yes, my lord!" Jory Cassel said.

Grand Maester Pycelle looked at Eddard Stark somewhat nervously.

"I heard that Jon Arryn's death was deemed irreversible by you, which is why you gave him milk of the poppy?"

"My Lord, Lord Jon Arryn has already gone to meet the Seven Gods," Grand Maester Pycelle said.

"I know, he might be listening to the Father's teachings now!" Eddard Stark said.

"But it's more likely he's with the old gods! Because the blood of the First Men flows in his veins," Eddard Stark said.

"Lord Eddard, what exactly do you want to say?" Grand Maester Pycelle asked.

"Are there any suspicious circumstances surrounding Jon Arryn's death?" he asked.

"Yes, he died suddenly, without any warning! He might have been poisoned!" Grand Maester Pycelle said very calmly.

"Then do you know who it was?"

"I don't know; anyone in King's Landing could have done it, especially those who could approach him at any time," Grand Maester Pycelle hinted.

Eddard Stark frowned.

"Are you hinting at something?" Eddard Stark asked.

"Lord Eddard, after staying in King's Landing for a long time, people change! Jon Arryn is no longer the Jon Arryn you knew when you were his ward in the Eyrie."
