Chapter 50 - Camping Hat

This was why Ginta could tolerate him and continue to stay in this place.

Otherwise, he would have taken out his hunter's license and chased him away.

He came here at this time of the year to protect the Two-headed Wolf, a mission from the Hunter Association.

It was completely reasonable and legal!

And as for this obnoxious, pensive fellow, whose identity was unknown.

Ginta had every reason and excuse to expel him as a destabilizing element.

Of course, whether the other party was willing to cooperate and obey was their own business.

Ginta could also resort to physical force, forcing the other party to obey on a physical level.

But for some reason, Ginta felt that if he really resorted to this method... he imagined he would be practically being physically controlled.

"So, for now, we don't need to do anything."

Luke patted Ginta's broad shoulders.

"For now, you just need to do your job and protect the safety of these Two-headed Wolves."

"As for the rest, you don't need to worry about it."

Ginta nodded vigorously.

Since Luke had said so, the worst that could happen was to do as he said.

As an inventor, Luke had helped him solve such a huge problem before.

Listening to Luke now was the right thing to do.

It was hard to say much about Ginta, but when it came to obedience and honesty, he was far superior to the other Zodiacs.

"I hope this period of time is peaceful and nothing happens."

Ginta stopped dwelling on it, then he ignored Ging Freecss, who was still sunk in deep thought, and plopped down on the ground.

His massive size was the perfect support, allowing him to lie down or sit down and rest anywhere.

And just as he was about to take a break...

"What are you doing, Luke?"

Ginta watched curiously as Luke began to walk around.

"Ah, nothing much."

Luke turned around and smiled at him.

"Just looking for a suitable place to set up a tent."

"Set up a tent?!"

Hearing that, Ginta instantly perked up.

"I've got plenty of wilderness survival experience. I'm quite experienced with things like setting up tents!"

He puffed out his chest and lifted his belly, making it sway.

"Leave things like cutting trees and building a cabin to me!"

Ginta was eager to impress Luke.

"No need to go to all that trouble..."

Luke quickly stopped him before he could run off in excitement to cut down trees.

"Cutting down trees to build a cabin is too much trouble..."

Luke waved his hand, casually saying: "I only need a simple little setup for a short stay."

"Simple? A short stay?"

Ginta looked over, somewhat puzzled, and saw a hat... appear in Luke's hand.

"Is it one of those expedition hats you wear in the wild?"

Ginta curiously examined the object that had suddenly appeared in Luke's hand.

"Another one of your inventions, Luke? But it just looks like an ordinary ha-ha-hat..."

Ginta's words suddenly stopped mid-sentence, his tongue tangled, as his eyes froze under the scene before him.

Beep.

Luke reached out and gently pressed twice on the top of the hat.

Then, the hat enlarged in Luke's hand.

Luke then put it in the place he had chosen, where it continued to expand and swell.

Eventually, it became a shelter comparable to a tent.

"There we go."

Luke clapped his hands, pleased with the spot he had found.

"What... Is this?!"

Ginta was stunned.

He always felt that being with Luke gave him new perspectives and insights every now and then.

"This one..."

Luke smiled. "It's the camping hat."

Invention: Camping Hat

Origin: Doraemon World — Future Tech Company

Function: It looks like an adventure hat, but when you take it off and press the button on the top, it expands and inflates, transforming into a tent perfect for outdoor adventures.

This item is from the movie Doraemon: Nobita in the New Haunts of Evil (2014).

"This is truly the first time I've seen a tent like this..."

He stared blankly as Luke climbed to the top of the tent and waved down at him: "What are you still standing there for? Come over here quickly?"

"Huh? Me?"

"Nonsense, who else could it be but you?"

Luke patted the dome entrance. "There are plenty of rooms inside this tent. Go ahead and find one for yourself."

"Really?!"

Hearing this, Ginta was first filled with disbelief. But once Luke confirmed it...

"Thank you so much, Luke!"

His eyes were instantly filled with tears.

"No one has ever been so kind to me!"

"What are you talking about?"

Luke, from the dome, jokingly said: "Didn't you bring me in?"

"Technically, you did me a favor."

"That's not the same!!"

"Of course it's not the same. All I know is..."

Luke's lips curved up into a grin: "We're friends now, aren't we?"

"...!"

"What? Aren't we?"

Luke feigned confusion. "I treat you like a friend, but you don't consider me as a friend...?"

"Of course not!"

Ginta roared, interrupting Luke's next words. However, he seemed to realize that his words were somewhat ambiguous, and waved his hands repeatedly: "Ah, no, I don't mean to say I don't consider you a friend. I, I..."

"Alright!"

Luke raised his hand, interrupting his flustered speech.

"I understand what you mean!"

"Then what are you hesitating about?"

Luke smiled and finally said: "I won't wait for you, you know."

"I'm going in first."

With that, he slipped inside the Camping Hat.

Ginta: "..."

His mouth widened, and tears threatened to flow into his mouth.

Sniff!

Ginta sniffed hard, then wiped the tears away with his hand while nodding vigorously.

"Mm!!!"

"Wait for me, Luke!!"

Just as Ginta happily entered the Camping Hat, Ging Freecss, who was deep in thought with his back to them, had unknowingly closed off his hearing.

Apparently, Ginta's loud outburst had really disturbed him earlier.

So he sank deeper into his own mental barrier, shutting out the outside world and lowering his head even further.

Of course, a thin layer of aura still enveloped him.

It seemed to be a warning mechanism, alerting him to the first sign of danger.

But the Camping Hat Luke had brought out was clearly not dangerous.

So Ging, who was fully immersed in pondering how to solve the problem of the Two-headed Wolf, didn't even notice such a big tent had appeared behind him.

Meanwhile, inside that tent...

"It's so luxurious, amazing!!"

After entering, Ginta kept exclaiming in admiration and praise: "Is this really a tent?! You would never guess it from the outside!!"

"Compared to the ones I have stayed in before, this is ridiculously better..."

"Before you say that, you should wipe those tears and snot off your face."

Luke kindly reminded him.

"Oh, right!!"

Ginta, feeling somewhat embarrassed, hurriedly cleaned himself up.

"Just pick any room to stay in."

Luke pointed to the doors around him: "Each room has a bed, a toilet, and even a window on the wall, so you can observe the outside at any time."

Ginta: It's truly cutting-edge stuff!

Remember, this was only the 1980s. Even in the Hunter x Hunter world, this fantastical land of six continents, something like what Luke brought out, which in the 22nd century would only count as a makeshift camping for temporary living, in Ginta's eyes right now, this was absolutely top-notch equipment.

And yet, such a good place to live, Luke was willing to share it with him.

This was simply too generous...

For a moment, Ginta's eyes seemed to be filled with tears again.

Why are there always tears in his eyes? It's because he feels the depth of this friendship!!

"Don't give me that..."

Luke saw this and interrupted Ginta's next words: "If you really think we're friends, hold back your tears!!"

Swish!!

Ginta's eyes instantly changed color from red to white.

"That's right."

Luke finally said with satisfaction: "Friends don't need so much politeness and expressions of affection."

Well, it was mainly because Ginta was a little too emotional.

Luke didn't waste any time talking to him; he went ahead and picked his own room.

Seeing this, Ginta immediately found a room near Luke.

"There's actually a toilet and a bed..."

Intrigued, Ginta wandered around for a while before finally sitting on the bed.

"It's so comfortable!"

His enormous body pressed against the soft bed, then his eyes narrowed with happiness.

This was his first time enjoying such comfortable treatment in the wild.

This was pure bliss.

"It's so good..."

Ginta hummed again as he lay in bed.

"With Luke, it feels like I don't have to worry about anything..."

First, his lost hunter license was found, and then he was living in such a comfortable and cozy camping tent.

A soft bed with a toilet... How could it be so comfortable!!

"Perhaps... this is what a real adventure is?"

This thought resurfaced in Ginta's mind.

Then his eyes drooped and his eyelids closed completely.

Hoo hoo hoo...

The extremely soft big bed, plus the exhaustion of travel and hardships along the way to reach this place, made Ginta completely exhausted.

At this moment, he just wanted to lie down here and get a good night's sleep!!

And Ginta did just that.

The sound of his sweet snoring soon began to fill the room.

He slept peacefully, utterly at ease.

Normally, a Poacher Hunter who spent years in the wild wouldn't have fallen into such a deep sleep without even taking proper precautions and vigilance.

But Ginta did so without the slightest worry.

It was as if resting in Luke's invented Camping Hat wouldn't pose any problems.

This, it could be said, represented Ginta's immense trust in Luke.

"A trust so deep, it was as if he was entrusting his very life."

Luke had naturally noticed Ginta's situation.

He was truly in a deep sleep.

"So, that's what friendship is."

Luke chuckled, feeling cheerful. Then he took out a cup and a kettle, before pouring himself some clear water.

"If only I had some peanuts, it would taste even better."

He, too, was enjoying this feeling with great pleasure.

And outside the tent. The Two-headed Wolf continued to frolic within the area designated by Ging Freecss.

In this forest teeming with danger and menace, this place became a rare, undisturbed space.

Thus, as the moon rose and the sun set, the sky was soon dotted with countless stars.

The forest turned completely silent, filled with tranquility and peace.

Yet beneath that calm surface lurked even deeper threats of danger.

But somehow, all those threats seemed to avoid this place, as if this place were completely invisible.

The pure white moonlight fell upon Ging Freecss, who had been sitting there.

When the moonlight touched Ging Freecss's face, his eyelids finally fluttered, and he slowly raised his head.

"Some of the ideas are almost there, but other things..."

Ging Freecss finally moved. He scratched his hedgehog-like hair, still brimming with freedom, and muttered: "There are still some questions I can't figure out."

Biological problems aren't easily solved overnight.

Even though Ging Freecss's wisdom is exceptionally high, this kind of thing still requires careful consideration.

Especially with endangered and rare species like the Two-headed Wolf, which has been a major concern for the entire academic community for two hundred years.

It's perfectly normal for Ging Freecss to be unable to figure it out immediately.

Not to mention… he's only twenty-one this year, a young man full of ideas.

His future was bright and his prospects vast; that was what defined him now.

Only when Ging Freecss relied on his impeccable accomplishments and results, along with his most important asset, his powerful fists, would others be left with no words of criticism.

All they could do was attack his personality and some of his inappropriate behavior.

Perhaps Ging Freecss hasn't yet grown into the true monster he'll become in the future.

But even in his youth, he's already more skilled than most hunters in this world.

"Forget it. It's still early, so there's no rush."

Ging Freecss knew he had plenty of time, and he had only just observed the Two-headed Wolf for a few days.

It would take more time to understand their habits.

Only with a deeper understanding could he address the issues he had discovered.

"Their nighttime activities are also crucial to observe and understand..."

Ging slapped his thighs lightly, then stood up with ease.

"I've marked out a circle for the Two-headed Wolf, enough to ensure their range of activity without affecting their natural habits."
