Chapter 23 - The Great Villain, Uvogin

"I want to play the bad guy, the ultimate villain!"

In the afterglow of the setting sun, Uvogin's booming voice rang loudly, buzzing in everyone's ears.

With Chrollo joining in, Uvogin was all the more delighted.

He highly approved of Chrollo's performance today.

He had only asked Luke to lend him a hand, but now they were actually filming, and even brought Chrollo in!

What's this?!

This is a perfect collaboration!

And with Luke's amazing skills, Uvogin firmly believes that they will definitely make a great film!

So, what's there to worry about?

Of course, he should take the initiative and secure the roles he wants first!

After Uvogin started this, others also began to ask for roles.

"Regarding the roles, please wait a bit. The script hasn't been finalized yet, so the specific roles haven't been decided."

Chrollo stepped in to reassure them: "But don't worry, if we start filming, everyone will definitely get a role."

There will definitely be roles.

It just depends on whether they suit your preferences.

For a moment, everyone looked at each other, and sparks of excitement flickered between them.

As night fell, for safety reasons, everyone went their separate ways.

However, they all agreed to meet at Nobunaga's house the next day.

"You should know where we live, right?"

"I know where it is, but Nobunaga's house isn't that big? Will we have enough space to sit comfortably? And, you said you all live there? Can everyone fit?"

"Hahahaha, you'll find out when you come tomorrow!"

Uvogin and the others laughed as they left, leaving Franklin and the others somewhat puzzled.

But since they said that, they would find out when they met tomorrow.

Shalnark, Franklin, and Sarasa also said their goodbyes.

Sarasa was the most excited, eager to see what tomorrow would bring.

She had a feeling that their lives would change dramatically starting tomorrow!

"Chrollo, do you really plan to cooperate with him?"

On the way back, Pakunoda expressed her concerns to Chrollo.

"Hmm, I also want to create a film that truly represents the spirit of Meteor City."

Chrollo smiled.

"And I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of sparks will fly when we collaborate."

"I believe…"

Chrollo seemed to have thought of something, and a bright smile returned to his face.

"That will definitely be very interesting!"

Early the next morning, Chrollo and the others arrived at Nobunaga's place, eager and even impatient.

After Nobunaga, yawning, welcomed them in…

"Where are they? Weren't we supposed to meet here?"

Shalnark craned his neck, peeking inside, only to see Nobunaga alone.

"They're upstairs."

Nobunaga pointed to the stairs.

"Upstairs?!"

Shalnark was stunned.

After seeing the stairs leading upstairs, he thought of something and immediately stepped back.

It was still just a one-story house, with no other floors.

"No upper floors, but there are stairs…"

Even Shalnark couldn't quite wrap his head around it.

Especially when he saw Feitan and Phinks coming down the stairs.

"Yo, you guys came pretty early."

Phinks waved, while Feitan remained expressionless.

"There really are upper floors?!"

Shalnark stared, his mouth agape. His missing tooth looked even more comical.

"How is that possible?!"

He rubbed his eyes and went outside to check again.

It still looked like a one-story house, but inside…

"You're all here."

Machi said calmly, while Uvogin continued shouting: "Everyone's here! Are you all so eager to be slaughtered by me, the great villain, Uvogin?!"

Everyone ignored him and turned to look at the last one to come down, Luke.

"Everyone's here, huh?"

Luke casually greeted them: "Have you all had breakfast yet?"

Breakfast…

Such a rare word.

In this city, being able to eat a meal is already a luxury; who cares about breakfast, lunch, or dinner?

People usually just eat whatever they can find…

But, speaking of which, they did smell a delicious aroma when they entered the house.

They hadn't thought much about it at the time, but now that they were reminded… they actually felt a bit hungry.

"Then let's have breakfast first."

Luke saw their reactions and smiled as he invited them in.

"Oh, no, thank you…"

Sarasa instinctively wanted to refuse.

But she turned to see that Uvogin and the others didn't seem to mind.

"No need to refuse."

Luke smiled and told Uvogin to go upstairs to get some food: "I said, since we're filming together, we need to make sure the logistics are well-organized."

Logistics? Is this what logistics are? Has it already started?

Everyone pondered in Luke's words, and Sheila gently spoke up: "Actually, we…"

She wanted to say that they were all just working together to make the filming a success.

It wasn't about seeking food or any other logistical support.

But…

She couldn't finish her sentence.

Because…

"The chicken soup's here!"

"The chicken soup's here!"

Uvogin mumbled unclearly, both his hands carrying and lifting a huge basket and bucket as he walked down.

An incredibly enticing aroma, a blend of various flavors, filled the air.

The basket in his left hand contained meat, fresh vegetables, and the fragrant aroma of refined wheat flour.

The bucket in his right hand held a rich, savory aroma of chicken broth.

The two scents combined to create a wonderful fragrance that permeated the entire room.

It tickled everyone's nostrils, their throats, and their appetites.

"Gulp."

Shalnark's throat was the first to give in, bobbing as he swallowed.

After swallowing, Shalnark felt a little embarrassed.

He wasn't yet as composed as he would later be when facing Uvogin's kisses, unable to resist and passively accepting them.

Realizing his swallowing sound was too loud, he awkwardly scratched his head.

But thankfully, if it were just him, it would've been awkward.

If someone else joined in, though…

Growl!

Franklin's stomach rumbled, echoing his hunger.

Shalnark immediately felt relieved.

Franklin, however, blushed.

"I knew everyone probably hadn't eaten breakfast yet."

Luke said with a smile. "So I made a larger portion of breakfast this time."

"That's right, that's right…"

Uvogin continued to mumble: "There's a lot to eat here…"

"You sneaky bastard, you were probably sneaking some food while carrying it, right?!"

Phinks pointed directly at Uvogin's mouth and his puffed-out cheeks.

"I didn't…"

Okay, that's it, this guy definitely stole some food.

Phinks stepped forward and grabbed the basket from Uvogin's left hand. Nobunaga didn't hesitate either and picked up the bucket of soup on his right.

Suddenly, the large, white steamed buns in the basket were revealed to everyone.

Inside the basket were big, white buns, their skins puffed up and shiny with meaty juices, some stuffed with vegetables too.

The large bucket on the other side contained fresh, golden-yellow chicken broth, glistening with oil.

"The meat buns and vegetable buns have different fillings; you can choose which one you want…"

Before Luke could finish speaking, Phinks had already grabbed a large meat bun and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Hoo, hoo, so hot!"

As he bit into it, the hot juice splattered, burning his mouth.

But even though he was grimacing and complaining about the heat, he didn't spit it out.

"So delicious!"

The savory aroma filled his entire mouth, making him unwilling to spit it out.

These weren't small steamed buns like the ones from small basket buns, but large, substantial meat buns.

Phinks's mouth could barely fit one whole, his cheeks puffed up like balloons, and his browless eyes squeezed shut from deliciousness.

With Uvogin sneaking food, Phinks diving in, Feitan, and Machi naturally followed suit.

They each took a meat bun and a vegetable bun and started eating.

Nobunaga even took the shell of a leftover black coconut fruit, using it as a bowl to scoop chicken soup.

He shook his head happily as he drank.

Slurp!

That was the sound of Nobunaga slurping his soup, and also the sound of Shalnark drooling.

"Since this is specially prepared for us…"

Sarasa licked her lips and was the first to approach without hesitation: "Then why should we be polite?!"

The lively girl grabbed a bun and stuffed it into her mouth.

Crunch.

"So delicious!"

With that first bite, her eyes lit up. The rich aroma was so intoxicating, it almost made her tongue melt away!

Immediately, she disregarded any sense of propriety or feminine grace and started devouring the steamed buns.

With Sarasa setting such a good example, everyone else began to enjoy their food.

Luke didn't say anything more.

Instead, Uvogin and Phinks kept reaching into the basket one after another.

The others couldn't resist either.

Shalnark and Franklin stepped up too.

Chrollo, being considerate, took out the steaming buns, let them cool slightly, and then handed them to Pakunoda and Sheila.

Suddenly, the only sound in the room was the chewing of everyone eating the steamed buns.

Luke was no exception; he took two meat buns and sat next to Chrollo.

"How does it taste?"

"It's fantastic!"

Chrollo ate elegantly, politely responding after swallowing both the dough and the filling.

"Did you also create this from plants, Mr. Luke?"

"Just call me Luke. Yes, just like what you saw at the church that day."

Luke replied frankly.

There was nothing to hide, especially since they would be filming together and probably eating meals together.

Naturally, questions like this would arise.

Besides, Chrollo had witnessed Luke creating food from plants that day.

"That's amazing…"

Chrollo's charming face was full of curiosity: "How did you do that?!"
