Chapter 28 - Element 4

I nodded to her once again without saying anything, as if my head was no longer capable of holding words—let alone forming them.

Everything inside me felt heavy: my thoughts, my breathing, even my gaze.

Rina didn't press me with questions.

She simply gave a long look at the bracelet on my wrist—a look that carried more than what was said—then spoke in a firm tone that allowed no argument:

"Go to your room. Your condition is unstable."

I didn't object. In truth, I didn't have the energy to do so, not even the desire to argue. It felt as if my body was moving under a drive that had nothing to do with my own will.

I left the place with slow, heavy steps, each step making me feel as though the ground itself was pulling me down.

The path to my room felt longer than usual… uncomfortably longer, as if the corridor had deliberately stretched itself to test my ability to keep going.

The walls on both sides were silent, and even the air felt heavy, entering my chest with difficulty and leaving more slowly than it should…

When I finally reached my room, I quietly closed the door behind me.

The faint sound of it closing was enough to make me feel completely isolated, as if I had been cut off from the world at that moment…

I took only two steps before my legs gave out.

A sudden weakness washed over my body, so I sat down on the edge of the bed without thinking, then slowly let myself fall back, as if I no longer had the strength even to sit.

I stared at the ceiling in silence…

I tried to remember what had

happened there. What did I see?

What did I do exactly?

But every time I tried to grasp those memories, my head would hurt violently.

A sharp pain suddenly pierced deep into my skull, forcing me to clench my teeth and let out a faint groan.

"Ah…"

I raised my hand and placed it on my forehead, trying to stop myself from thinking…

No. There's no point.

I slowly lowered my hand, then looked at my wrist. At the bracelet.

The moment my eyes fell on it, I felt my heartbeat speed up for no clear reason.

And the longer I stared at it, the stronger the sensation became, as if my chest were gradually tightening…

I felt uneasy, so I quickly looked away without thinking.

After just a few seconds, my heartbeat began to return to normal, one beat at a time, slowly, as if my body were breathing a sigh of relief…

This… is strange.

I thought silently to myself as I stared back at the ceiling. Could this bracelet be the reason?

Could it possibly be related to what happened there…?

I tried to push that thought, to force something useful out of it, but my mind gave me nothing. No images, no sounds, not even a clear feeling.

Just emptiness, as if part of my memory had been tightly sealed shut.

I took a deep breath. There was no point in thinking about something I couldn't remember.

"Alright…" I muttered softly to myself.

If I couldn't remember, then there was no reason to exhaust myself further.

My body was tired from head to toe, my muscles heavy, as if I had spent a long time training without taking any rest…

Even my head hurt—that dull, constant headache that wouldn't go away, no matter how hard I tried…

I slowly closed my eyes, trying to relax. I let my thoughts scatter instead of gathering them, and I left the questions unanswered.

Before I drifted off, a strange feeling crossed my mind…

But I was far too tired to care.

And although the anxiety hadn't completely disappeared, sleep slowly began to pull me in…

Ding… Ding… Ding…

I woke up to the sound of the alarm.

It was irritating enough to make my head feel heavy before I even opened my eyes.

I slowly lifted my head, blinking several times as I tried to understand what was happening.

I lazily reached out and turned off the alarm, then looked at the clock beside me. When I saw the time, I froze for a second.

Six in the morning.

My eyes widened slightly. Six a.m…?

"That's impossible…"

I muttered under my breath. Does this mean I slept for an entire day?

I tried to calculate it in my head, but the conclusion was clear. It seemed I had been so exhausted that my body decided to shut down completely without consulting me.

Strangely, I didn't feel hungry, nor did I have the severe headache that usually follows such long sleep…

just a general sense of sluggishness.

I took a deep breath and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I must have been really exhausted…"

I slowly stood up and headed to the bathroom. The warm water pouring over my body gradually woke me up.

The shower wasn't special or different, but it was necessary.

I felt as if the fatigue clinging to my muscles was slowly dissolving with every passing minute.

After finishing, I changed my clothes quickly. I didn't want to waste more time than necessary.

Before leaving the room, my eyes fell on the bracelet.

And at that very moment… the feeling returned.

My heartbeat suddenly sped up without warning.

An uncomfortable sensation tightened in my chest, as if my body were reminding me of something I couldn't remember.

I didn't linger. I quickly turned my gaze away, and within seconds my heartbeat calmed down again.

"…I don't like this."

I muttered to myself, then reached out and picked up the evaluation sphere.

It was slightly cold in my palm. I focused on the bracelet, and the information appeared before me.

I sighed in irritation.

"What a lousy device… it's truly useless."

I should buy a more advanced one than this worthless thing.

In any case, I already know the bracelet's name and abilities, so I don't need this device right now.

I took a deep breath before opening the door and stepping outside.
