Story: In 2017, two young women from Southeast Asia, Siti Aisha from Indonesia and Đoàn Thị Hương from Vietnam, were tricked into assassinating Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Believing they were participating in a YouTube prank show, they were instructed by men posing as producers to smear a harmless-looking liquid on strangers' faces for payment. On February 13, they targeted Kim Jong-nam at Kuala Lumpur airport, applying what they thought was lotion or baby oil. 😵💫
Twist: Unknown to them, the "prank" involved two separate non-lethal substances that, when combined on Kim's skin, reacted to form VX nerve agent, one of the world's deadliest chemical weapons.
