Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Innate Talent

Darkness. That is all Kal could see. Not even his hand was distinguishable. Sure he was dark, but skin tone was a caramel brown chocolate so it should have been visible. Unless he wasn't awake yet. But somehow he felt he was. Or he might just be trapped in a state of semi consciousness, a coma. "So it was a hallucination, huh? Well that is disappointin-"

Suddenly, a burst of white light snapped him out of his thoughts as he shielded his squinted eyes away from the brightness. "Argh! A warning would've been rather polite," Kal grumbled under his breath before adjusting to the sudden change. From the wisps of light emerged a glowing orb rotating slow and steadily. Kal tried moving towards the ball and surprisingly, it felt natural.

Inching towards it, Kal wondered what it was and unexpectedly, he received an answer.

[That is the Soul Orb. It is triggered by beings with innate abilities. However such individuals are few and far in-between. Among the 100 million human, at least 8 have been detected to have such abilities.]

Kal froze and facepalmed. What do you do when you have a system? You ask. How he forgot the Transmigeration Rule No.1 is beyond even him. Well he couldn't be blamed. He was still skeptical about this whole experience. For all he knew it could be a symptom of hallucinations. He did spend too much time with games, animals and Webnovels.

'Who cares? Of this isn't real, I'm waking up to work on such an idea. ENIGMA does sound like the next big thing,' Kal mused before halting in front of the orb. He felt a strange sense of peace at this proximity that filled him with a strange but soothing warmth. Raising his hand, Kal gulped as he prepared himself.

He thought he didn't care, but that was a blunt lie. He gave a damn. His life had become rather monotonous and boring. Only thing that kept him going was his games. He, like every other Otaku, fantasied transmigeration and facing a situation where his dreams might come true and the possibility of it not, was depressing to say the least.

With a sigh, Kal placed his hand onto the orb before a strange energy got sucked into his hand like a vortex. Other than an itch, Kal felt nothing...

[Innate Talent detected. Awakening has been initiated]...at least until now.

"Ahhhhh!!!" Kal let out a blood curling screamed as he desperately clawed his face in agony. Every second felt like an eternity each inching him closer at the edge of his sanity threatening to push him over.

After 5 minutes, the agony slowly subsided until it ceased completely. Breathing heavily and shakily, wanted to fall to his knees and catch a breath but he was floating in a vast darkness with no tangible form of matter other than the ball. With his jet black silky hair reaching his nape and stuck to his forehead, Kal turned up and bellowed, "Couldn't you warn me first you bastard?!"

Although he knew yelling at your soon to be benefactor was unwise, Kal couldn't help himself. He felt so betrayed. However, when the screen popped up again, he almost fell to the non-existent floor.
