Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO — Distance and Letters

When Jimmy reached Form 3, fate decided to test their love. Thelma was transferred to a girls' school, and Jimmy went to a boys' school in another town. The day they parted, Thelma cried softly. Jimmy held her close and whispered,

"No matter how far you go, I'll always find a way to reach you."

Those words stayed with her.

There were no phones, no internet — only letters. Beautiful, slow, heartfelt letters that carried every emotion across miles.

Jimmy would write in the soft glow of a lamp at night, pouring his heart into every line. Thelma would wait anxiously, counting the days until a letter arrived. Sometimes it took weeks, sometimes months, but when it did, her whole world lit up.

She would hold the envelope close to her chest, kiss it softly, and finally open it with trembling hands. His words made her smile, sometimes cry, but always reminded her of the love they shared.

Jimmy, too, would hold Thelma's letters like treasures. They would both kiss the paper, and those letters, in their quiet way, smiled back with love.

Though distance kept them apart, their love only grew stronger. Each letter became a bridge between their worlds — proof that true love could travel farther than any train or road.
