Chapter 12 - We'll talk about being friends when you've cured your eighth-grader syndrome and your perverted stalker tendencies.

My luck today is just the worst. To think I'd run into this annoying guy twice. He was definitely about to blurt out the word 'pervert,' wasn't he?

Whatever. I'll just ignore him, buy my things quickly, and get out of here.

Horikita Suzune decided internally not to get involved with this guy. She had a feeling that getting too close to him would lead to a lot of unnecessary trouble.

"By the way, the student council president is your brother, right?"

Shikime Natsu's gaze fell on the other daily necessities in the convenience store. He hadn't noticed when he first came in, but there were free items. It seemed that as long as you were at this school, a basic standard of living was guaranteed, so you wouldn't end up destitute on the streets.

The air conditioning in the dorms could also be used freely, which was quite nice.

After saying this, Shikime Natsu received no reply from Horikita Suzune. He looked up and glanced at her, noticing that her expression seemed a little off.

"You... how did you know?"

Horikita Suzune spoke, a trace of panic appearing in her wine-red eyes. If this guy really told her brother about the 'pervert' nickname, what would she do?

"You two have the same last name, so it's a natural suspicion. Plus, you give off a similar vibe..."

Hearing Shikime Natsu say she was similar to her brother, a flicker of joy flashed through Horikita Suzune's heart. She had always been imitating her brother, following in his footsteps. She had even grown her hair long because her brother had once said he liked it... She hadn't expected this guy, who usually spouted nonsense, to be so perceptive at times.

"Of course, if I said you weren't alike, that would also be true, since you're..."

"Shut up! Don't talk to me anymore!"

Hearing Shikime Natsu on the verge of saying those two words, Horikita Suzune quickly cut him off. As expected, you can't expect good words from a foul mouth. If only she had her compass on hand.

"Oh, and you, the classmate from the bus. What's your name?"

Shikime Natsu's gaze went past Horikita Suzune and landed on the deadpan guy from the bus. What a coincidence. He wondered if he might run into that other angel as well.

"Ayanokouji Kiyotaka."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka sensed the other's gaze and replied instinctively.

(So I'm also worthy of having someone take the initiative to ask for my name?)

"There are a lot of free things here. If you need anything, you can take them for free. Of course, it says 'Up to three items per month' on them."

Shikime Natsu pointed to the free daily necessities section on the side.

"This school is quite lenient with its students. Not only do we get one hundred thousand points a month, but even if we spend most of our points at the beginning of the month, there are still free items."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka spoke calmly, his eyes showing no emotional fluctuation, as if he were merely stating a simple fact.

"Yeah, it's great that we could get into this school. It feels like we're just here to enjoy ourselves."

Shikime Natsu chuckled lightly. It seems... Class D hasn't revealed any information either. In other words, they were all on the same starting line.

"One hundred thousand points a month, plus supplementary goods. This school coddles its students too much."

Horikita Suzune snorted, her gaze also falling upon these items.

"By the way, since we've met again, why don't we exchange contact information?"

Shikime Natsu took out his phone and walked up to the two of them with a smile.

"I don't really mind."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka chose not to refuse. In fact, he thought it was a good idea, especially since his contact list only had a few lonely names: one Kushida Kikyou, one Chabashira Sae... Hmm... he said a few, but it was actually just two.

"I refuse. I have no need to make any friends."

Horikita Suzune's voice was still as cold as ice, keeping everyone at a distance.

"Alright, once you've cured your chuunibyou... and your pervert tendencies, we can be friends then."

Shikime Natsu just smiled, not minding at all, and after picking out his items, he got in line to check out.

"You...?!!"

Hearing Shikime Natsu's words, Horikita Suzune's eyes widened. This guy was truly infuriating. She would never be friends with him in her entire life!

Shikime Natsu bought his things, paid, and walked out of the convenience store.

"Don't look down on me!"

Suddenly, a loud voice came from outside the convenience store door, audible to everyone inside.

It was a red-haired boy. Just from his appearance, he seemed like the type who would be hard to get along with. Hmm... listening to that aggressive voice, he also seemed quite difficult.

"I think he's from our class."

After checking out, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka followed Shikime Natsu out, his gaze also falling on the person who had shouted. The red hair looked familiar.

In front of the red-haired boy stood three others in school uniforms.

"You're from Class 1-D, right?"

The leader of the group spoke, his tone clearly confident, with a hint of contempt in his eyes.

"So what if I am?"

"You've got some nerve, talking to upperclassmen like that."

So they were upperclassmen. But judging by their appearance, they didn't seem like the type to be short on cash. Shikime Natsu uninterestedly shifted his gaze away, his eyes landing back on Horikita Suzune who had just come out.

"Aren't you going to stop them? Something troublesome might happen."

"Getting involved with him would only lower my standards."

Horikita Suzune didn't even lift an eyelid, seemingly ignoring the arguing group completely.

"We'll let you off the hook today. It'd be too pathetic to bully you 'defects' any further. So go on and bark all you want. Soon enough, you'll see hell."

After leaving those words, the three of them walked straight away, leaving behind the furious red-haired boy. He kicked a nearby trash can to vent his anger, then left.

"Oh, something incredible just happened. Aren't you going to clean that up?"

Shikime Natsu continued to speak.

"It has nothing to do with me."

Horikita Suzune took her things and left directly, not even glancing at the toppled trash can.

"What about you, Ayanokouji?"

Shikime Natsu's eyes fell on Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's gaze lifted slightly, noticing the surveillance camera above Shikime Natsu's head. He sighed softly and chose to clean up.

"I'll help you."

Shikime Natsu took out his phone, found the contact 'Kamuro Masumi,' and sent her a message.

"Thanks."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka said, though it felt strange. He wasn't the one who kicked it over, but... oh well.

With an extra person, cleaning up would be faster.

"Don't mention it. You look like you're having a tough time. By the way, is your class representative Kushida?"

Shikime Natsu asked casually.

"No, it's probably Hirata..."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka shook his head. However, Kushida Kikyou seemed to be quite popular among the girls. It was only the first day, and he was completely different from them.
