Everyone warned her about the suffering that could be brought on by death, no one mentioned the agony of being born. Her mother's insides writhed and squeezed all around her trying to push her out, she felt like she was being digested by a python.
After a claustrophobic, painful and traumatic half hour she was finally out into the world although she couldn't enjoy it as she was practically blind, her vision completely red and blurry.
Still, Julie, now called Judas couldn't believe her situation, she was reborn! A flood of questions flooded her mind.
How was she alive? If this was the after life shouldn't she be in heaven, hell or whatever? Reincarnation with her memories intact, how was that possible?
She was an infant right now, less intelligent than a dog. How could she think so clearly?
Did everyone reincarnate or was she a special case? Would she reincarnate again if she died?
That thought filled her with dread, living for eternity, unable to die, that was a fate surely worse than death.
If this wasn't some natural occurrence which was the most likely possibility then who or what was behind it and what was their purpose?
Facing so many questions that she would likely never find an answer for, Judas decided to push those thoughts to the back of her mind.
After being wiped down she was wrapped in a blanket and handed to her mother. Only once she was in her new mother's embrace did Judas finally realise just how small and frail she was.
And then.
[System initialized] a cold, emotional voice of a woman rang in her mind.
Looking up at her mother, she couldn't make out her exact facial features but she guessed that she was smiling. Judas's blood ran cold.

Six months had passed and Judas had learned more about her new living situation. Firstly she wasn't on earth, at a glance the world seemed like a mideval earth but looking more closely, Judas made a chilling discovery.
This world had magic, monsters and other intelligent races, all under the governance of the "God's voice." The voice that had appeared in her mind at her birthday.
Furthermore, she lived in the Rowa Kingdom and was born in the year 12,000 of the heavenly calendar.
The world wide system setting, the location and the calendar all pointed to an unthinkable possibility, she was reborn inside a world that shouldn't exist, a world inside a novel and what a horrid world it was.
Judas considered suicide but decided against it in the end.
'With my knowledge of the story and how the system functions I am confident in becoming strong enough.'
But strong enough for what? To avoid death?To gain glory? To build an empire or seize a throne? None of those things enticed her.
What she truly wanted was to see just how high an ordinary person of this world could climb with any cheat titles or skills.
'But in order to start my journey I will first need some seed capital.'
The system, or god's voice as the people of this world referred to it was truly an incredible tool, it could grant impossible mastery over weapons, grant the ability to use all sorts of versatile and powerful magics and enhance a person's physical, intellectual and observational abilities to absurd degrees.
In order to gain any sort of enhancement there were only four ways; leveling up, growing older, training and using skills.
Leveling up was the most straightforward method, by leveling up, an individual's stats would increase. Stats influenced a person's base physical strength, endurance, magical capacity, vitality, agility and dexterity.
Some stats were straight forward in their affects while others were less so, for example although dexterity seemed obscure compared to strength, it had the effect of making a person's actions, skills and abilities more efficient with lessened wasted movement and a slight increase in the casting speed of spells.
As for the exact increase in stats for each level and their ratio, that depended on a large variety of factors such as the type of skills possessed, a person's species, age and stats.
How to level up? That was simple, Kill!
Only by killing could one level up, the higher their level the more they had to kill, the stronger the prey the greater the affect.
This was a world run on violence, where every living being could be sacrificed to gain power, it was as if the world itself was trying to use the greed for power in the hearts of men to encite violence.
Growing older was straightforward as well, as a person matures their stats increase as well.
Although stats were good, skills were more important, using magic, splitting thoughts, seeing in the dark, flight, predicting the future, traveling thousands of kilometres in just a moment.
Although there were more than a thousand skills, only two types of skills existed; Skills and racial skills.
Skills could be acquired and strengthened using skill points. Racial skills could only be acquired by being part of a certain species and were gained immediately after birth or after evolution.
The only way to acquire skills was through purchasing them from the system using skill points, the only way to acquire skill points was through gaining titles by fulfilling specific requirements.
As for training it was the most important, by training, one could increase their stats up to a certain level but even more importantly, through continued use of skills one could gradually increase their power.
In these six months, using her knowledge of the system and the world, Judas had created a route to creating the most versatile and powerful build possible considering her race as a human.
As a new born she had no skills nor skill points so the first thing on the list was the acquisition of a few titles that would get her enough skill points.
Unfortunately as an infant that had only started developing the ability to crawl there wasn't much she could do, however recently, she had begun to develop teeth and that would be enough to get a few titles in one sweep as long as things went according to plan.
Licking her small teeth, Judas's black eyes locked on her mother.
Judas didn't know much about her mother, Juliet but she knew enough, Juliet was a prostitute, pure and simple.
