Keifer's POV:
I drove to my office.
As I parked the car and stepped out, I felt someone watching me.
I carefully looked around, trying not to make it obvious. I didn't see anything unusual, but the feeling remained.
My experience had taught me to trust my instincts.
I adjusted my suit and started walking toward the building.
Then—
I sensed someone approaching from behind.
At the last second, I moved aside and turned.
A masked man lunged at me.
I blocked his punch and kicked him backward.
Before he could recover, more people attacked me.
All of them were wearing masks.
Interesting.
This wasn't random.
Someone had planned this.
One attacker rushed toward me from the front while another tried to come from the side.
I avoided the first and shoved him into the second.
Both stumbled.
A third attacker appeared behind me.
I turned just in time and blocked the strike.
The parking lot erupted into chaos.
Footsteps echoed around me.
Shouts filled the air.
Attackers came from every direction.
I remained calm.
Panic was useless.
One man charged.
I sidestepped him and used his momentum against him.
Another came immediately after.
Then another.
And another.
They weren't giving me a second to breathe.
Whoever sent them clearly knew what they were doing.
But they also underestimated me.
I grabbed one attacker by the arm and threw him into two others.
They crashed into a parked car.
A loud alarm began blaring.
The sound echoed through the parking structure.
Good.
More attention.
More witnesses.
The attackers became more aggressive.
A few of them tried to surround me.
I moved before they could close the gap.
Never stay cornered.
Never stop moving.
A lesson I learned long ago.
Then I noticed something.
One man wasn't fighting.
He stood farther away near the entrance of the parking lot.
Watching.
Observing.
His posture was different from the others.
Calmer.
More confident.
The leader.
My eyes narrowed.
The moment he realized I had noticed him, he slowly smiled beneath his mask.
Then he raised his hand.
Immediately the attackers backed away.
One by one.
As if they had received a command.
Within seconds, the men who had been attacking me were retreating.
Interesting.
Very interesting.
This was never about winning.
It was a test.
The leader stared at me from a distance.
Neither of us moved.
Then he spoke.
His voice was low.
Distorted.
But clear enough.
"Still dangerous."
I didn't respond.
The man chuckled.
Then he turned around and walked away.
Not ran.
Walked.
As if he wasn't worried about being stopped.
The rest followed him.
Within moments they disappeared.
The parking lot became silent again.
I stood there watching the direction they had gone.
Something about that voice bothered me.
Something familiar.
A memory sat at the edge of my mind.
Close enough to recognize.
Too far away to identify.
I adjusted my tie and looked toward my office building.
Whoever they were...
Whoever sent them...
They weren't after money.
And they weren't after me.
Not directly.
Because if they wanted me dead, they would have tried harder.
No.
This was a message.
A warning.
My jaw tightened.
The image of Jay flashed through my mind.
Then Kade.
Immediately my expression darkened.
They could test me.
Threaten me.
Watch me.
Fine.
But if anyone thought they could touch my wife or my son....
They were about to learn why people feared the name Watson.
I stood there on a parking lot for a moment then set my suit and tie and walked towards the building.
I entered and everyone greeted me.
I got into lift and call my PA.
"Yes sir"
"I want the footage of parking area five minutes ago"
"On it sir"
I cut the call.
I reached the top floor and went to my office cabin.
I sat on the chair.
Who could that be?
I picked my phone to call body guards around mansion when I saw Jay's message.
Worry washed over me.
I quickly open the chat and saw a picture of Kade sleeping his face Buried on her chest. The photo was taken by her because I can see her smile.
There was also a text.
"He said da before sleeping"
Everything in me soften.
I could imagine them both sleeping right now cuddling each other.
I smiled.
I called the body guards and told them to be aware.
I won't let it know them or never let even a shadow of it near them.
__
After attending three meetings and review endless files now I'm done.
I completed my last file and glanced at my watch and it's 5 pm.
I headed towards home.
I reached the mansion and asked the guards about today then I entered the mansion.
I could hear the faint noises.
I entered the living room and there they were sitting in the floor playing with blocks.
Kade saw me first.
"Da! Dada! Da da da " he literally came running I mean crawling faster than I ever saw.
I crouch down to pick him up.
I picked him and bounced him in the air once he laughed loudly then I did again.
I hugged him and rested his head on my shoulder. I closed my eyes to feel hid warmth.
He pulled away and patted my face. I kissed his little hand then his forehead and cheek.
We're in our moment when....
"Wowww, just wow" it was jay.
I looked at her and she was standing there crossing arms
" I'm third wheeling now."
I looked at her and she was standing there with annoying expression.
I couldn't help and a small laugh escaped me.
Which annoyed her more..
I walked towards her and pulled her by waist. She tried to pull away but my grip was tight.
"My baby is sulking?" I asked in a low voice then kissed the corner of her mouth.
She scoffed.
"You clearly showed who your favorite baby is two minutes ago" she said looking away.
Ohh so is it like this?
A smirk formed on my lips.
"Are you jealous of your own son Mrs Watson?" I asked.
Now she looked at me.
"What? No! Why would—" she stopped mid sentence.
She reached for my face and her hand brushed my jaw.
"Why is there a bruise on your jaw?
What happened?
Did you fight?
With who?"
She asked questions one after another
