It was Department A-16s turn to go on stage, not many people expected much from this group as they were not the best among all the department's but they still listened to what they had to offer.
Philip walked up to the stage with nothing in his hand, he cleared his throat, looked at everyone and said,
"We have created something that would revolutionize combat, speed and defence, behold our invention, the armor suit."
As he finished metallic parts flew from around the arena and started to attach to his body, soon a full armored suit was created.
It didn't look futuristic at all and kind of looked like something from the 90s but it was still a full armor that could be disassembled and reassembled on command.
What followed after the suit was fully built unto Philip was a chorus of applause.
"Thank you, you would see the other things the suit can do in the other sections." Philip said as he tried to fake humility.
He took a bow and left the stage, he looked at A-5 and grinned before going to meet his group.
"What do we do, we would be on in a few minutes and if we also show of a robotic suit it would be seen that we copied." Sophia said in a panic.
"You guys don't need to worry, we would just show them which one's better." Dexter said with a confident smile.
Seeing Dexter so confident, the others almost felt like there was nothing to worry about and that everything was under control.
After two more departments showed their projects it was A-5 turn.
"Next up Department A-5." The host said.
Dexter was the one that went up stage and this shocked everyone.
"They are sending a teenager up stage, that is so unprofessional."
"It is like what they made is so bad they don't want to embarrass themselves so they sent a teen, so cruel."
People hadn't even seen what he was going to present and they had already started judging it, but Dexter didn't care, he just shook his head to block out all the thoughts and focused on what was important, his presentation.
"My presentation today is a robotic suit." Dexter said.
"No wonder they sent a teenager up there they just copied what Dep A-16 did, such a disgrace."
"I can't believe those guys a willing to humiliate this boy only to escape humiliation."
Philip was smiling from ear to ear when he heard what the audience were saying.
How did he know they did a robotic suit you may ask, he just happened to have overheard Travis and Sophia talking about it, so he went to his group and decided to make their own robotic suit and as luck would have it, his group was on stage first which really helped matters.
Dexter waited for the barrade of insults to calm down before he continued.
"Our suit works with nanotechnology." Dexter announced.
Now everyone just thought he was trying to salvage the situation by saying something out of this world.
"Nano tech hasn't been invented yet and your now telling me that department A-5 just happened to have invented it and would have been able to not just invent it but use it to the extent were they can create a suit with it, ha! I find that hard to believe."
"If they actually were able to create a nanotech suit, I would personally quit my job."
Dexter didn't waste any time and immediately activated the suit.
Before everyone's very eyes, Dexter's body that didn't have anything on it was immediately covered in a dark blue suit, the suit was so beautiful, it was fashionable and functional, it was a dream must have for everyone.
There was pin silence, no one made any noise as they stared at the marvel of engineering before them.
Then there was a thunderous applause as everyone stood to appreciate the suit.
"So who copied who exactly?"
"Isn't it obvious, department A-16 copied, department A-5."
"And to think we were quick to judge them when they were the victims the whole time."
Philip was livid by how things were turning out, so in moment of desperation he climbed unto the stage.
He grabbed the mic from the host and said,
"How do we know if this your suit actually works, this could just be all for show, but what is the point if it doesn't work."
Everyone knew that Philip was just trying to salvage the situation, even if it doesn't work, for the fact the it was made from nanotech was already impressive.
"Ok so you want me to prove that the suit works?" Dexter asked.
"Yes! Prove it, show us if your fancy suit actually works." Philip said deliberately taunting Dexter.
"Well then, you better stand back for this." Dexter said and the thrusters at the back of the suit opened.
There was a noticed hum noise coming form the back of the suit.
Everyone could see a red and yellow flame coming from the back of the suit.
"Is he going to launch the suit."
"Is that even possible."
While everyone was talking the red and yellow flame then turned blue in colour and then boom.
A Sonic boom was heard as the suit shot up into the air.
Everyone was left frozen were they were,
"Was that a Sonic boom?"
