Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 System

"Do you know today is the wedding of Princess Lian Yue? She is known as the most beautiful and powerful princess in the entire Dynasty. She is marrying Ji Chen, the heir of the strongest cultivation sect under the heavens. No one knows what roots they possess, but rumor says they are extremely rare and unique," a storyteller in a bustling restaurant announced dramatically.

The streets glowed with lanterns as Princess Lian Yue's dowry procession moved forward. Servants tossed handfuls of copper coins and occasionally broken pieces of silver into the crowd, causing people to scramble with delighted cheers. The atmosphere was festive and lively.

At the front of the grand procession was a massive sedan chair crafted from gold, jade, and purplewood. Dozens of bearers carried it with steady steps. Inside, the princess sat in dignified silence.

Music echoed through the streets, and everyone wore bright smiles.

The sedan eventually reached the mountain entrance and halted. The bearers carefully lowered it, and the maids opened the red silk curtains with gentle hands.

Princess Lian Yue extended her hand, which Ji Chen immediately took, supporting her with quiet care as she stepped down.

They ascended the mountain stairs together, gifts carried behind them. Yet after only five steps, the scenery shimmered, the space around them twisted, and in the blink of an eye, they stood atop the mountain.

The wedding ceremony began. They bowed to the heavens, to each other, and to their parents.

Afterwards, Princess Lian Yue was escorted to the bridal chamber while Ji Chen remained outside to greet the elders and guests.

Inside the chamber, Lian Yue sat gracefully on the wedding bed.

"Princess, would you like something to eat?" her personal maid Bai asked softly.

"Yes, some fruit," Lian Yue replied.

Bai retrieved her favourite fruits from her storage bag, slicing and arranging them neatly before serving them on a jade plate.

As Lian Yue ate them slowly, a sudden ding sounded in her mind.

'No one can see me except you. Oh, and by the way, no matter who you marry, the effect remains the same. If you're thinking of never giving birth, drop that idea; you won't be able to handle the consequences.'

Lian Yue frowned as she stared at the translucent window. Even the wedding veil couldn't obstruct her view. She glanced at her maids, but they showed no reaction at all. Seeing the side effect made her heart sink like falling into an abyss, though the compensation offered a faint sense of relief.

What was the villain? The one who gets defeated is killed in every story by the hero.

"Everyone, go out," Lian Yue ordered. The servants bowed and quietly left the room.

She reread the status screen carefully, anger rising as she reached the threatening message at the end.

If something could bypass the sect barrier and all the guarding experts, its warning was likely not a bluff.

A soft blue light shot toward her and entered her forehead.

A manual's knowledge suddenly engraved itself into her mind.

Closing her eyes, she reopened the system window and tapped on the gift.

Congratulations

Pregnancy Kit (Reusable), Astral Root (Mystical), Heavenly Guqin, Root Improvement

Claimed

She examined the items one by one.

The pregnancy kit contained pills for stabilising pregnancy, post-birth recovery, and nourishing the child's root and aptitude—usable only during pregnancy.

Root Improvement was exactly what it sounded like, priceless.

The Heavenly Guqin came with a manual and stated she possessed extraordinary talent for it.

As for the Astral Root… it could fuse with her current root to form a Mystical-ranked Astral Sound Root.

Without hesitation, she initiated the fusion.

Deep within her dantian, two lights intertwined—one a silent silver star, the other a trembling ripple of sound. Slowly, they began to merge.

Lian Yue trembled from the sharp pain, her face tightening.

Only the system's concealment prevented the powerful phenomenon from alerting every expert in the sect.

To congratulate the Host on her marriage

A special gift!

Astral simple technique and Dream Weaver technique.

Lian Yue studied the technique carefully.

The Astral Simple Technique increased cultivation speed under moonlight, transforming lunar energy into a unique power that strengthened the body from within. It even granted additional benefits during dual cultivation with someone who possessed a Solar Root, enhancing both partners' growth.

The second technique, Dream Weaver, allowed her to enter a chosen person's dreams, using illusions and mental power to shape or control them.

Lian Yue's cheeks warmed slightly at the dual cultivation section. She had already decided to give the Root Improvement treasure to her husband after tonight, when their union was officially complete.

She opened the window, letting the moonlight spill in, and began cultivating the Astral Simple Technique.

As the cool lunar glow wrapped around her, she heard voices outside.

"Young Master, she is inside," a servant announced as the door slid open. Ji Chen stepped in, and the door closed behind him.

He looked nervous, almost stiff, as he approached with the long wooden stick wrapped in red cloth. With slow care, he lifted her wedding veil.

And immediately, he had a nosebleed.

A Core Formation master… having a nosebleed at the sight of his new bride.

Lian Yue let out a small, amused laugh. She reached for her handkerchief, intending to help, but Ji Chen quickly caught her hand.

"I will do it myself, Princess." His voice was calm, his expression still cold, but the tips of his ears were bright red. The contrast was almost comical.

She handed him the handkerchief. "Princess? You should call me 'wife' now," she said teasingly.

"Yes," Ji Chen replied as he wiped the blood and tucked the handkerchief into his storage ring.

She raised her brows slightly. "Then say it."
