Chapter 16 - Unexpected Reuni

"How long will it take at this speed?" I asked.

I was moving at high speed toward the city of Cierliu.

The distance from the city of Geaz to the city of Cierliu, according to the Grey Lurk leader himself, was around 660 km.

If using a horse carriage that travels at a speed of 20–60 Km/H, then the time spent getting there would be about 1–2 days, including resting during the journey.

Because the horses in this world are faster and larger than the horses in Guiver's old world. Even when pulling large carriages, their speed still ranges from 20–60 Km.

Well, it's not like I'm good at calculations or anything. It's just that's what the Grey Lurk leader told me.

Because he and his subordinates have already explored the entire Outer Slums, which makes them know everything that exists in the Outer Slums.

You could say, they are useful allies for ordinary people like me.

Guiver muttered as he gave his answer, "Based on your speed like this..."

"You should arrive in about another hour." He replied.

"I see." I answered.

I had already been moving since an hour ago, and even flying for two hours didn't tire me at all.

Previously, when heading to the city of Geaz, it took about 6 hours even though the distance was farther, so this wasn't tiring at all.

On top of that, because I could now truly control my body thanks to Guiver's understanding.

He gave my body a new understanding of how to use it.

For example, what I couldn't properly detect before, now I was increasingly proficient at it because Guiver had refined it. Just like when he detected the presence of the Grey Lurk leader earlier.

The same goes for other abilities such as Buff, basic magic, healing. He improved all of that in just one day.

"Ah... Speaking about him, I always remember his funny face," *Pfft... I chuckled, remembering something really funny that I couldn't forget.

"What is it, kid?" Guiver asked curiously.

*Hehehe... *Pffft. "Hahaha!"

"You know... When the Grey Lurk leader introduced his name, and then you said you weren't interested..." I really couldn't forget that moment, I swear.

"And then his always calm face suddenly looked like an stupid..."

"Your tastes are weird, kid." Guiver replied curtly.

The day before, when their meeting was almost over, the Grey Lurk leader introduced himself in front of Guiver who was using Reigh's body.

"Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet, have I?" That man smiled kindly, while touching his own broad chest.

Guiver raised an eyebrow, he really wasn't interested in that.

"My name is Cyrn Ofdhis," The man's voice sounded friendly.

But not for Guiver, he showed a flat expression when looking at the man in front of him, "Oh." Guiver replied briefly, "Nice to meet you, Kairn."

"Cyrn," The man was still trying to smile.

"Eh?"

Silence for a moment.

Guiver corrected his words, "Cairn?" He muttered, "A stone marker?"

The man pronounced 'Cyrn' with a 'Keyrn' tone, a heavy accent that sounded similar to 'Cairn'.

But Guiver misheard it as 'Cairn' pronounced 'Kern' in English.

"Khahaha!" Reigh's laughter didn't sound friendly at all, instead it sounded like mocking laughter. "His face when he looked at you was unforgettable!"

"Your teasing really cuts deep, you know!" Reigh shouted.

"I'm not teasing," Guiver grumbled, "I was stating facts about the meaning of his name, damn it!" He added.

Reigh chuckled, "Really?!"

He kept moving fast in the air, shouting without hesitation, because no one could hear him at that height and speed.

He passed villages at his high speed.

*Shsjakahk.

"What was that sound?!" Someone screamed in fear.

"What was that just now?!" Another shouted, seeing a vortex of dust and dry leaves flying due to the strong gust of wind.

No one knew what had just passed by them. Only the laughter and its echo were carried by the wind. It wasn't clear and was confusing.

Even if he was shouting, no one would see him as crazy for talking to himself.

"Why do you need a map too, kid?" Guiver asked, "Wasn't that your hometown?"

"Hehehe..." Reigh laughed quietly, "Of course I forgot, right?! It's been 7 years since I kept moving from place to place!"

"It's impressive you can move hundreds of kilometers like that!" Guiver replied. His tone sounded praising, but also a bit mocking.

"Hahaha!" Reigh blushed instead, taking it as a compliment, "I always sneaked onto the merchants' horse carriages!"

Suddenly, Guiver spoke in a serious tone, with no friendliness or sarcasm at all, "Kid." His voice was heavy.

"Hm?" Reigh replied briefly.

"Actually, I don't want to interfere with your revenge," Guiver paused for a moment, then continued, "But could you leave that part to me?"

Reigh fell silent for a moment and stopped moving. *Ssswhhh... The wind that was enveloping his whole body also disappeared. "Isn't that the same as interfering?" Reigh asked, "I want to do it myself," Reigh's eyes stared straight ahead.

"Can you even torture someone?" Guiver replied, asking. "Someone like you has no experience torturing people, right?" He added, "It would be such a waste if that bastard just died immediately."

"But..." Reigh clenched both of his fists.

Guiver smiled faintly, "You can introduce yourself first to him, like all the things you've been holding in," he said quietly, "After that, you can leave the torture part to me."

"You can see it from inside here too, right? Wouldn't..." His voice lowered, becoming excited, "Watching that bastard being tortured be amazing?!"

"I can keep torturing him for days without stopping and without him losing his life, you know," he added.

"Eh?! You can do that?!" Reigh asked.

"Yes."

Silence for a moment.

Reigh's eyes suddenly sparkled, "Can you do that to me?!" He asked enthusiastically.

"Hah?!" Guiver scoffed, "No way, you idiot! I'm in your body, you know!"

*Tsk. He clicked his tongue and continued their journey.

"I don't mind if you take over, but," Reigh said.

"But?" Guiver asked.

"You have to make him regret being born into this world." Reigh said.

Even though he no longer cared about pain, he really hoped Guiver would fulfill his request.

To him, that man's life was not enough to atone for everything he had done.

Guiver smiled faintly, "Yeah. You can leave it to me." Guiver replied, "I'll show you something interesting."

Reigh continued flying low at high speed for an hour, passing through forest trees, village houses, and accidentally blowing away bandits who were hunting for prey.

When that happened, the people who felt saved immediately bowed to the gust of wind, then muttered, "Thank you, Wind God." Then they ran to secure themselves.

One hour later, Reigh had arrived fairly close to the entrance gate of the city of Cierliu.

*Wsshh... Ssshh... The gust of wind surrounding his body slowly disappeared, *Thud. He stepped onto the ground.

"If I stop here, no one will see me, right?" He glanced around.

"Safe." Guiver replied briefly.

Reigh walked forward toward the city gate, about 200 meters away.

He brought his hand to his temple, looking far ahead, "The line is quite crowded, huh." Reigh muttered as he walked.

He immediately went to the very back of the line.

A few minutes later, he got bored waiting in line. "Haaa... This is taking so long!" He muttered half-quietly.

That mutter was heard by the person in front of him, "That voice?..." Someone in front of Reigh immediately turned around.

"Hm?" Reigh replied.

For some reason, the person in front of him felt happy, "It really is you!" She exclaimed, "You! How did you get here?!" She asked Reigh.

Reigh was a bit confused, because suddenly there was a woman whose voice sounded like she knew him, "You don't know her, kid?" Guiver asked.

Suddenly, Reigh started to remember something, "Woah! You... The woman who always gave me food!"

The woman's face was covered, so it was hard for Reigh to see. But Reigh clearly remembered her voice.

The same with the woman, she also clearly remembered Reigh's voice and didn't feel unfamiliar when she heard his earlier muttering.

The woman felt awkward, "D-Don't be so loud!" She quickly covered her face with her hood.

Reigh chuckled, "S-Sorry!" He leaned in and whispered, "What business do you have in this city?" Reigh asked.

"I have something to take care of," The woman replied, looking at Reigh, "What about you? Why are you here? You disappeared before, didn't you?"

Reigh blushed, "Y-Yeah..." He scratched the back of his head, "I want to change my life..." He replied awkwardly, "I want to..." He stammered.

"Look for a job," Guiver cut in, "Say that."

"T-That's right!" Reigh exclaimed, "Looking for a job."

"Eh? I see." The woman replied with a smile.

"Come on, it's our turn." Someone beside her said.

"Y-Yeah." She turned around. Before that, she glanced back at Reigh first, "See you later!" She exclaimed.

Reigh smiled widely, "Yeah!" He replied shortly.

Reigh's face immediately turned red. "I didn't expect... to meet her," He muttered to himself, "The woman... I admire."

"Sylzee Aileen."
