Chapter 7 - Moon

I sat cross-legged on the bed, taking out that cultivation technique called Moon, given by Ji Woo. I opened its first page and started to read.

"Moon or Sun, Yin or Yang, they both complement each other. But a Moon can't shine without the Sun."

"The Sun defines the Moon's existence, and the Moon is just a black rock, illuminated by the Sun."

"The word Moon is cursed, an existence that can only live under the Sun. Without the Sun, the world loses light, and without light, everything loses its meaning; the Moon becomes blank as the world falls into darkness. But it didn't mean everything vanished, if you couldn't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist."

"Choice isn't yours, be the Sun or Moon, you're not the one to choose. But you exist that is you, not to be seen by the world, not to live in light or hide in darkness."

"Want to step out or not, up to you.

Believe it or not, up to you.

Sun or Moon, up to you."

This page didn't belong to the original content in the book; it was written with fresh ink. I was unable to control my smile because hearing something like this from Ji Woo was very hard to imagine. I continued reading, placing this page in my drawer carefully.

After turning to the next page, I felt an unknown feeling like I was drowning in these texts. The feeling was quite unique and amusing, almost identical to what happened when I found an addictive book and couldn't stop reading it.

As I continued reading, my Blood-Qi started to flow through my body on its own. At the beginning, it was just fast blood flow, but it quickly transformed into blazing flames, which were running destructively through my veins. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't, invisible shackles stopping my body.

The sweat started to run down my body, soaking my whole body slowly, evaporating from my body like steam, my body was burning from the inside. I could feel my lips turning dry, my skin cracking; it was extreme pain that I couldn't possibly handle. But these invisible shackles were stopping me from falling unconscious, stopping me from screaming, making me watch my own self burning in pain. Even though my mind was flooded with pain, I had to savour it thoroughly, leaving zero control over myself.

Time continued to pass, and the burning blood in my veins started to condense into a spherical ball in my Qi Sea. The blood in my body was drying at a rapid pace. I could feel my eyes cracking from the dryness. It was the end; there was no escape. My head wasn't messed up. I could still think clearly, which forced me to bear this unbearable pain.

Finally, the blood in my body had completely dried up, and the burning sensation started to fade, but the blood sphere in my Qi sea still hadn't formed completely. As the blood flow decreased, the consolidated blood also started to crumble into pieces.

Just at this moment, suddenly, a new wave of blood Qi surged into my body, revitalising the sphere. The crumbling blood core started to form again, slowly increasing in size, becoming hotter and hotter, even my mind was burning while looking at it.

I slowly started to lose my consciousness, engulfed in helplessness.

Finally, I can rest now. With this thought, everything turned blank, as I lost my consciousness.

When I woke up, my head was hazy, but before I could think about anything, a foul smell penetrated my nose. It almost made me vomit as I barely stopped myself from vomiting. I felt someone embracing my body from behind. It was a familiar feeling; usually, I would have already pushed him away by now, but right now, my focus was on the black sticky substance seeping from my skin.

I tried to understand the situation a bit before leaving his embrace. As I stood up, I took a look at him and his clothes were also covered with sticky black substance oozing from my body. When I looked at myself, I found that my whole body was giving off this foul smell, wrapped in this black substance.

I gave him the last look; luckily, he was still sleeping, before I quickly headed to the bathroom.

Once I entered the bathroom, I quickly removed this filthy dress and started to clean up my skin. It took me almost an hour to clean up and remove that foul smell from my body.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, I saw him still sleeping, his clothes soaked in black substance. I went closer to him and looked at his face, which was slightly covered in black substance. I took a slightly moist cloth, gently clearing his face.

When I touched his face, I could feel dryness, like I felt when my blood was being condensed into a sphere. I thought about that sudden surge of blood Qi, but didn't dwell on it any further. I already owed him so much that I no longer cared about it.

After I was done clearing his face. I removed his filthy clothes, also shifted him slightly away from that dirty mattress, and covered him with a clean blanket.

Once I was done with him, I went to dress up myself, while there was still a foul smell lingering in the room. Once I was done dressing up. I looked out from the window, and the morning sun was illuminating my vision.

I took a long breath before feeling the changes in my cultivation. When I peeked into my blood sea, the small blood sphere had turned into a blazing blood-sun. This makes me wonder why this technique was called the Moon. It was clearly related to Fire and Blood.

Well, the name doesn't matter much, because I could feel the power flowing through my body, which I had never felt. I wanted to test it out quickly, but I couldn't because if others were to find out, it might cause a big problem.

After controlling my initial excitement, I went out of the room to get some water, because my throat was completely dry from the cultivation session.

As I was about to walk out, I paused and went to the wardrobe, taking a quick look at myself. Only to see, my skin, which had become much cleaner, and even my body seemed to have grown a bit. Making me a bit happier.
