**Scene 105 "City Streets"**

*While Labib was walking alone through the city streets, he was surprised when a bus stopped in front of him. Jim Jamar stuck his head out of the window, smiling.*

He said:

"The storm has calmed down, right?"

*(Meaning: "You're not angry anymore, right?")*

*Labib smiled and got on. The bus set off.*

Jamar said:

"Do you know where we're heading?"

Labib:

"No."

Jim Jamar, happily:

"To the restaurant… the restaurant, the restaurant, the restaurant, the restaurant."

*The bus stopped in front of the small shop where Labib had slept the night before. It turned out to be a small, modest restaurant. Jim Jamar went in, and when the old man—the owner of the restaurant—saw him, he was very happy.*

He said:

"Jamar… you've been gone for a long time! Welcome, welcome. The grilled fish have missed you."

Jim Jamar:

"And my longing for them is fiery—no, even hotter."

*When Labib entered, he realized it was the same man he had met the previous night, and the old man realized it too.*

*Both said at the same time, surprised:*

"Is it you?!"

Jim Jamar:

"Do you know each other?"

*They sat down, and Jim Jamar learned from the old man how he had met his friend Labib. Labib also learned that Jim Jamar always gets grilled fish from this small restaurant, that he has known its owner for a long time, and that his name is Mr. Saber. At that moment, Labib smiled and trusted him because he was Jim Jamar's friend.*

Labib said:

"I'm sorry for being rude yesterday."

Mr. Saber:

"Don't worry about it… we all go through times when we don't like talking to anyone."

*Mr. Saber told them that he needed someone to help him with the restaurant work, and he offered this to Labib. Labib hesitated.*

So Jamar said to him:

"Accept it, accept it—come on. An empty pocket is heavy, and a full pocket is light and jingling.

And remember—you still have to pay the bus fare."

*Jim Jamar got on the bus, and before it departed, Mr. Saber stopped him, saying:*

"The fish… you forgot the fish."

*And he handed him a lot of them. Jim Jamar said:*

"I almost forgot… thank you."

*Then he sped off.*

*Labib agreed to Mr. Saber's offer and stayed to help him. Mr. Saber gave Labib a small, beautiful room on the upper floor with a single window.*

He said:

"From now on, this is your room, and no one will enter it without your permission."

*Labib felt sad about being separated from his friend Jamar.*

So Mr. Saber said:

"No need to be sad… your friend comes here every morning and every evening.

He won't be away from you for long."

*Labib was very happy to hear that, and Mr. Saber continued, saying:*

"He has many matters to attend to, but he hasn't told me about them."

*Then Labib spoke to himself, saying:*

"He investigates gangs and defends the oppressed, day and night."
