Evelyn glanced back and forth at Logan, and though he wore a seemingly indifferent smile, she felt that, deep down, he was really, really sad.
Being unable to do what he truly wanted and being hindered by those closest to him must be heartbreakingly painful and frustrating!
"It's okay!" Evelyn tried to sound as casual as possible. "Logan, I believe in you. Eventually, you'll earn the respect, understanding, and support of your family with your own strength. The challenges you're facing now are only temporary; things will work out!"
Logan nodded, moved by the smile on Evelyn's face, and said solemnly, "Yes, absolutely!"
"So... how much more do you need?" Evelyn asked softly.
Logan let out a long sigh and said, "You don't need to worry about the money; I'll find a way on my own. If it comes to it, I can go back to Midoria to develop my career. My dad and the others will have a harder time restricting me there."
"Actually..." Evelyn hesitated, "I have some money on hand."
