Looking at Evelyn's pale little face filled with determination and concern, Caden Lockwood paused and instead held her back.
Seeing her frowning with displeasure, he spoke up promptly, "You go lie down and rest in bed, I'll find the doctor later to bandage myself."
"Later?" Evelyn raised her voice, "You need to get bandaged now!"
Caden Lockwood had no choice, "Alright, I'll go now. You head back to the ward first; the doctor said you're very weak."
"You go first," Evelyn persisted, "Don't delay any longer!"
Caden Lockwood simply picked Evelyn up directly, took her back to the bed to lie down, pressed her down, and said deeply, "Rest well, don't move around."
Evelyn's face turned red, and she nodded, obedient and gentle.
Caden Lockwood's heart softened, and he lightly brushed Evelyn's cheek with the pad of his finger and gave her a deep look before heading out of the ward.
Watching Caden Lockwood's back, Evelyn touched her cheek, a faint smile on her lips, her heart sweetened.
