Listening to Caden Lockwood's words, Evelyn Morgan really wanted to pry open his brain to see what he was thinking.
Was her attitude of resistance not obvious enough?
"I will not marry you," she spoke out resolutely.
Caden raised an eyebrow and casually uttered something that made Evelyn feel like she was being choked: "You already did."
Her breath hitched, Evelyn's gaze froze.
That marriage certificate, could it possibly be real?
"How is that possible!" She stomped her foot anxiously, "That marriage certificate can't be..."
"For such a huge enterprise like The Lockwood Family, a slight arrangement like this is hardly a difficult task, isn't it?" Caden's tone was profoundly deep.
She blinked, not wanting to accept some of the real information he conveyed.
He stared at her and continued to speak, "You were the first woman to hire me, shouldn't you take responsibility?"
