Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Bringing Lunch to Leo Grant

"Just tell your brother what you want to eat, Holly. Your brother will make sure you never go hungry."

Back home, Leo gently ruffled the little girl's hair and said slowly.

When Nathaniel offered to take the little girl out for a meal and she happily agreed, Leo felt a bit uneasy and unhappy.

"Mm-hmm, you're the best, brother."

Holly Sawyer showed a sweet smile, happy like a child.

"Be good, it's late, Holly. Go to bed early."

Leo glanced at the time; it was already ten o'clock, quite late. The little girl usually went to bed early, so she must be tired.

"But I'm so full, I can't sleep!"

Holly touched her stomach and said with a conflicted expression.

She really had eaten a bit too much that evening. Both versions of Holly were food lovers, particularly with a sweet tooth.

Holly was not the kind of person who would try something she didn't like, so her preferences were genuine.

"I'll walk with you to help digest."

Leo looked outside and said.

They were in a villa area, with neighbors nearby, and there was a place for activities next to the villa, a favorite spot for the elderly and couples to stroll, also equipped with recreational facilities.

"Yes, yes, I haven't been out to play yet."

Holly jumped up in excitement, clapping her hands like a joyful little rabbit.

She was very enthusiastic, pulling Leo's hand as they headed out.

Seeing how easily Holly was satisfied, Leo smiled slightly, recalling another little girl in his memory who was similarly easy to please.

Cheerful, lively, naive, and energetic.

The evening breeze was slightly cool as Holly spread her arms wide, the smile never leaving her face.

"Brother, I want to know why someone wants to target you?"

Holly looked up at Leo, lightly biting her lip as she spoke, appearing utterly clueless.

Leo, Noah, and Nathaniel's conversation hadn't been hidden from Holly. Although she had amnesia, she wasn't a fool and could definitely understand.

"Silly girl, that's not something you need to know."

Leo gently ruffled Holly's hair, speaking softly.

Such a pure little girl should be well-protected; he should take care of her until she recovers her memory. Once she remembers, whether she stays or leaves will be up to her.

"But brother, Holly wants to know."

Holly reached out to hold Leo's hand, speaking slowly, her eyes full of longing.

"Because brother is standing in their way, understand?"

Leo explained.

Holly looked at Leo with confusion.

"It's like a limited edition lollipop, only one exists. Wouldn't you want it?"

Leo asked.

Holly nodded.

"While you want it, someone else will also want it, right?"

Leo continued.

Holly nodded again.

"But there's only one lollipop, and many people want it, so they would fight for it, right?"

Leo gently ruffled Holly's hair, his voice soft.

"Oh, I get it. So brother got the lollipop; because it's in brother's hand, those who want it will all come against brother to grab it, right?"

Holly blinked, her expression suddenly enlightened.

Her eyes opened wide.

Leo: "Mm, correct."

Indeed, his metaphor was quite accurate.

The position he held was like that coveted lollipop by the Grant Family; because he acquired it, they were unwilling to let it go and eyed him, aiming to get rid of him.

"Brother, I'll protect you."

A smile played on Holly's lips as she spoke slowly, her eyes filled with seriousness.

"Silly girl."

Leo ruffled Holly's hair again, not taking her words to heart.

How could he let such a soft, timid, amnesiac little girl protect him?

Besides, how could she possibly have the ability to protect him?

"Holly will protect Leo."

Holly repeated it, this time adding the name, speaking with particular seriousness.

She wasn't joking.

Holly would protect Leo; it was a promise she made to him, even if he might not believe her.

——

Early the next morning, when Holly got up, Leo had already left, and Mrs. Hayes had returned.

"Miss Sawyer, is there anything you'd like to eat?"

Mrs. Hayes said with a smile, speaking warmly.

She'd heard about Leo's situation, and although Holly had been unintentionally involved, she had still helped Leo, which made Mrs. Hayes very happy.

"Auntie, please just call me Holly. You don't have to call me Miss Sawyer."

Holly lightly bit her lip and said slowly, her eyes showing a hint of sadness.

She seemed upset by the title Miss Sawyer, looking quite wronged.

"Alright, alright, Holly, what would you like to eat?"

Mrs. Hayes immediately replied.

"The same as usual is fine."

Holly wore a sweet smile on her face.

She sat in the dining room, playing with her phone, waiting for Mrs. Hayes to bring breakfast.

Her eyes shifted slightly, her gaze on the phone changing.

Leo had already gone to Grant Group, and the people of Arkenfall had calculated Leo's timing, so he was in danger.

"Auntie, can I go to find my brother?"

When Mrs. Hayes brought breakfast, Holly lightly bit her lip and asked, looking conflicted.

"Why? Missing the young master?"

Mrs. Hayes teasingly asked Holly.

Holly's face turned red immediately, and she blinked, "I want to bring my brother lunch. He's busy working, and what if he forgets to eat?"

Holly looked at Mrs. Hayes with innocent eyes, full of seriousness.

"Alright, I'll make lunch for you, and then you can take it to the young master. How does that sound, Holly?"

Mrs. Hayes naturally wouldn't refuse Holly's request. The young girl was so cute, she hoped Holly could become the future young mistress of the Grant Family.

"Mm-hmm, thank you, Auntie."

Holly grinned, nodding vigorously, looking incredibly pleased.

"Such an easily satisfied little girl."

Mrs. Hayes watched Holly's happy expression, feeling good herself, but still thought the young girl was too pure.

An innocent young girl could easily be deceived.

Holly: "Not really."

Holly kept checking the time, and when Mrs. Hayes had prepared lunch, she kept pestering to go out.

It wasn't even eleven yet, and she was already eager to leave.

Mrs. Hayes arranged for the driver to take Holly to Leo's company and called Leo before letting Holly leave with peace of mind.
