Adrian returned to the Shaw Residence, and the guards stationed inside and outside the courtyard saluted him in perfect unison.
He stepped out of the car with his long legs, tossing the key to a nearby security guard in one fluid motion.
Without heading back to his own room, Adrian went straight to his father's study. As he passed by the West Solarium, he overheard his Fourth Uncle and Aunt arguing again.
The sound of porcelain shattering rang out one after another.
"Father entrusted me with this burden before he died because he trusted me. Just look at what's become of the Vance Family—how can I possibly turn my back on them?" Fourth Aunt's voice trembled slightly, not out of weakness, but from exhaustion and hoarse fatigue.
"Trust? Or a shackle?" Fourth Uncle's booming voice erupted, anger laced with a trace of anguish. "Besides the Vance Family's requests, the company shares, and those worthless siblings of yours—do you have room in your heart for this family at all?"
