The swordsmith Bill from Dog Town couldn't help but recall the afternoon when Li Younan showed him how to forge a hunting knife from powder steel after the fourth time he cracked a billet.
Many times when people watch a craft as an audience, they often have the thought, "This? I could do that too."
This feeling is particularly strong when they watch the work of some masters, because the master's movements seem more composed, leading people to mistakenly believe that the skill has become much easier.
This sensation is particularly evident in sword forging; many people watching the Sword Forging Competition feel that there is nothing very difficult about it.
Bill had never tried forging powder steel before, especially using the Damascus method to forge powder steel. It was only after watching Li Younan forge up close that he thought he might as well give it a try.
And such an attempt directly tied him up here for over ten hours.
