Raine, holding the Obsidian Counterattacker, blocked the Frost Giant captain Linveiya's Bone Axe. The rest of the Royal Guards also successfully fended off the Frost Giants.
With three remaining Royal Guards under Colonel Tessa's command, plus the ones with Benest, there were six fully capable Royal Guards in total.
Thus, while each Frost Giant was held back, an additional guard blocked the front of the Crit team.
This brought smiles to the faces of the Crit brothers and the other mages.
The battle returned to the pace they were most familiar with and enjoyed the most.
