Over the next hour, Leon and his group of three endured the trials of three more rooms.
The first room still featured magical beasts, but this time, it wasn't the Cinnabar Flame Dragon. Instead, it was a Frost Dragon—a dragon species that mastered ice and snow, occupying a very high rank among the dragon kin. The Frost Dragon that Leon had once planned to contract for Yukino Yukinoshita in the Familiar Forest was a lower-tier subspecies of this one. In other words, this Frost Dragon was far more powerful than the one in the forest and much stronger than the previous Cinnabar Flame Dragon, causing no small amount of trouble for Leon's team.
Faced with this Frost Dragon, even Rias could no longer destroy the opponent with a single strike. Sona Sitri, on the other hand, faced a situation completely opposite to her previous battle; her proud water magic not only failed to restrain the enemy but every time she gathered moisture, the dragon would freeze it into ice. Sona was nearly swallowed by the encroaching snow and frost.
In this room, Leon was once again the first to eliminate his foe, using a massive magical beam to obliterate the Frost Dragon. He then turned back to assist Sona, allowing her to narrowly overcome her enemy without further incident.
By the time Sona finished her battle, Rias finally succeeded in landing her Power of Destruction on her Frost Dragon, reducing it to ashes. With victory secured, the passage to the second room opened.
The second room contained a trap. It was filled with miasma capable of corroding a Devil's body. Furthermore, the purer a Devil's bloodline, the more susceptible they were to its effects. Rias and Sona collapsed within seconds, their breathing labored and their faces pale. Forget fighting—even moving a muscle brought agonizing pain.
Leon was also affected by the miasma and felt pain throughout his body, but he was only half pure-blood Devil. The other half of his heritage was that of a human exorcist, so the impact was significantly reduced. He wasn't immobilized, and his magic could still function normally.
Consequently, Leon initiated an indiscriminate bombardment of the entire room, releasing countless magic bullets to blast away the thick miasma, causing it to thin out.
Once the miasma dissipated, the effect on Rias and Sona lessened. After resting for a while, the two mostly recovered, and the passage to the third room opened smoothly.
In the third room, Leon's group encountered yet another trap.
This time, it wasn't miasma that appeared, but a power that acted like a lethal poison to Devils—Light.
Just like the final blow Sharon had used against Yukino Yukinoshita, a massive magic circle of Light appeared on the ground. Intense Light overflowed from the circle, instantly eroding the defensive magic circles Rias and Sona had hurriedly deployed. Only Leon's magic circle remained standing, blocking the overflowing radiance.
Seeing this, Rias and Sona both released their magic toward the Light magic circle on the ground. One condensed a magic bullet filled with destructive power, while the other formed a vortex of high-speed rotating water. They fired simultaneously, striking the ground and destroying the magic circle along with the floor.
The trial of the third room was finally passed, and the passage to the next room quietly opened.
Counting the first room with the Cinnabar Flame Dragon, Leon's group had now endured four trials.
After these four rooms, Leon was still in relatively good shape, but Rias and Sona appeared exhausted, having clearly expended a significant amount of energy.
Fortunately, as the three traversed the passage and reached the fifth room, they finally laid eyes on the mastermind behind everything.
"Welcome to the Sovereign's Chamber, successors of Eligos, Gremory, and Sitri."
The speaker was a man dressed in aristocratic attire, sneering at the three of them. Though he was dressed exquisitely and elegantly, he possessed no sense of nobility; instead, he exuded a sinister aura.
The man was young, likely not yet thirty—in the prime of his youth.
Of course, compared to Leon's group, who were not even twenty, this man was undoubtedly much older. His chronological age certainly didn't match his appearance.
After all, Devils were a long-lived race. Judging by the presence of this young man, even if he wasn't hundreds of years old, he had to be at least a century old.
"Is it you?" Rias stepped forward, demanding, "You're the one who planned all of this, aren't you?"
Rias recognized the voice; it was the same voice of the Old Satan Faction member they had heard in the first room.
This man was the owner of the voice they had first heard when they were forcibly teleported into this labyrinth space.
"My name is Luffy Trix."
The man introduced himself openly, triggering a reaction from Leon, Rias, and Sona.
"Trix?" Sona narrowed her eyes. "Are you a descendant of the Trix family, an Extra Demon family?"
The so-called "Extra Demon" families referred to Devil lineages that were not part of the current Seventy-Two Pillars but were still quite famous.
Some of these families had produced incredibly powerful Devils in the past, and some possessed influence no less than—or even greater than—the Seventy-Two Pillars. However, for various reasons, they were not included in the Pillars and maintained a certain distance from the current Devil government.
The number of surviving Extra Demon families in the Underworld was small, consisting only of a handful like Mammon, Abaddon, and Belphegor. These were families that chose to retreat to the depths of the Underworld to avoid power struggles.
The Trix family was once one of the Extra Demon families, but in today's Devil world, their name was almost never heard.
The reason was simple: during the civil war hundreds of years ago, this family had actively surrendered to the Old Satan Faction. They became a direct branch family under the son of Beelzebub, one of the four Great Satans. They were the confidants of the Underworld's ruler at the time and the executioners used to slaughter other rebellious Devil families.
During the civil war, the Trix family incited public outrage due to excessive killing. They were targeted by the Reformist Faction and were eventually wiped out by a joint effort of the Sitri and Glasya-Labolas families.
As the next head of the Sitri family, Sona could naturally never forget this history.
"That's right. I am a survivor of the deceased Trix family, and the sole survivor at that."
Luffy's gaze toward Sona was cold and filled with hatred.
"Sona Sitri, successor to the Sitri house. The blood flowing in your veins makes me want to burn you to cinders. Not just because my family died at the hands of yours, but because after committing such sins, you dare to defile the name of Satan Leviathan."
"You, and your sister as well, are the objects of my deepest hatred—the targets I most want to eliminate."
"It was precisely because I heard you were organizing this meeting that I brought along other Devils who also hate the Sitri family to set this death trap."
As he spoke, Luffy also looked at Leon and Rias.
"The two of you as well. Not only do you both have those hateful fake Satans standing behind you, but one of you shamelessly claims to be the descendant of a pure-blood Devil despite being a half-breed, while the other, like that fake Lucifer, inherited the Power of Destruction from the Bael family."
"And you are all close friends of the Sitri successor, her allies, her precious people."
"In other words, you all deserve to die."
Luffy made no effort to hide his loathing and disgust. His words were filled with shocking malice, yet they failed to shake the three students.
"Truly, you are just a ghost who has been forgotten and ostracized by the Devil world," Rias said with a brilliant smile that lacked even a hint of warmth. "It's no wonder you would do all this. Knowing you are a member of the Trix family, it isn't surprising at all."
"Indeed." Leon spoke indifferently, as if Luffy didn't even exist in his eyes. "A bunch of executioners who were ostracized for their perverse actions, a group of opportunists. Now that you've lost everything, how could you not want revenge?"
"It's a pity. A survivor finally appears, and instead of hiding away to have children and continue the bloodline, you actually come out to seek death—"
"The descendants of fools remain fools after all. It's no wonder you can only play these dark tricks in the shadows, needing to exhaust your enemies before even daring to face them."
Leon and Rias's words sent Luffy into an instantaneous, uncontrollable rage.
"Shut up! You are not allowed to judge my family in such a filthy manner! You aren't worthy!"
Luffy roared, only to be met by a lethal strike from Sona Sitri.
"The ones who judge families in a filthy manner should be executioners like you, shouldn't it?" Sona said coldly. "You were wiped out and still haven't learned your lesson. Like Leon said, the descendants of fools are fools after all."
With a flick of Sona's hand, a massive surge of water erupted from beneath Luffy's feet, transforming into sharp spikes that lunged toward him.
As it turned out, Sona had been quietly making preparations from the moment they began talking. At this very second, she triggered the water that had silently spread to his feet, launching a surprise attack.
Against an ordinary High-Class Devil, this move would have been difficult to react to in time.
However, though Luffy was furious, he managed to react in the nick of time.
Boom!
A staggering amount of magical power erupted from Luffy's body, directly blowing apart the countless incoming water spikes.
"What?"
Sona's expression flickered, and even Rias's gaze sharpened as her face turned grave.
Leon's eyebrows arched slightly, his gaze toward the opponent filled with surprise.
The reason was simple: the opponent's magical power had already exceeded the level of a High-Class Devil.
Ultimate-Class Devil!
Luffy Trix was an Ultimate-Class Devil!
