Alina's fingers turned cold when they approached the Thorn's mansion for the Christmas Eve party that evening.
The mansion was so big and intimidating just by looking at it, compared to her own house… well she felt the pressure, the door is so big that an elephant can enter with ease, and the environment, so peaceful and clean, not even a speck of dirt or dead leaves around.
As they were heading to the door to enter, Alina's breath was withheld. She was anxious and quite scared about meeting his parents. She was extremely nervous, because every click of her boots on the marble floor sounded like a countdown to a confrontation she wasn't sure she could win. With his hand possessively around her waist, Alina felt a bit of pressure lifted upon her.
He turned her to face him at the entrance of the huge mansion, a worried yet doting expression on his face. "If you feel uncomfortable, we can still leave," he muttered, pulling her into a warm embrace.
