Chapter 11 - CHAPTER ONE — THE ORIGIN

EXT. KLONDIKE MOUNTAIN RIDGE – SUNSET

Snow whipped across the jagged peaks like shards of glass. The air was thin, each breath biting into the lungs. The sky above burned in streaks of orange and purple, the last light of day glinting off icy cliffs. A carriage creaked and groaned as it climbed the treacherous path, wheels grinding against frozen stones, hauling Takashi Sinkaf and his small company toward the unknown.

Takashi, tall, imposing, and quiet, led the group. His coat flapped in the wind, and his dark eyes scanned the ridge with a sharpness that made Rishi, his younger brother, nervous.

RISHI

(voice tense, shouting over the wind)

Takashi… this is madness! The snow's waist-deep, the wind will freeze our lungs! What if the stories… what if they're true?

TAKASHI

(flat, unwavering)

We survive, or the mafia takes everything. We find the gold, or we die trying.

Behind them, six hardened retainers trudged through snow, their breaths puffing white clouds. Each carried a rifle or axe. Each was aware that this mountain was not only treacherous but alive with whispers of something unnatural.

A faint movement in the snow below caught a survivor's eye. Shadows seemed to ripple.

SURVIVOR #1

(whispering)

I… I swear something moved… down there…

Takashi froze. His instincts flared. The snow shifted unnaturally, as though it were breathing.

TAKASHI

(quietly, deadly calm)

Stay alert. Nothing here is as it seems.

EXT. MOUNTAIN PASS – NIGHT

The path narrowed. Ice covered every rock. Snow drifts threatened to swallow them whole. Takashi's boots crunched against frozen stone as he moved forward.

RISHI

(hesitant)

Takashi… are we really going to find anything? This place… it feels wrong.

TAKASHI

(focused, scanning)

Gold or death. That's all that matters here.

The brothers' eyes caught something strange: a glimmer beneath a mound of snow. Takashi bent down, brushing away the ice. Beneath was the edge of a cavern—a frozen tunnel. A faint red glow pulsed inside.

TAKASHI

This is it. Stay close.

EXT. MOUNTAIN TUNNEL – NIGHT

Takashi pried open the frozen crevice, revealing the faintly glowing interior. The air was unnaturally still, the kind of silence that pressed against your eardrums.

Inside lay a corpse, frozen, its body covered in jagged, black spikes. The faint red light reflected off the bones. Its eyes flickered faintly, unnervingly alive.

RISHI

(horrified)

What… what is that?

TAKASHI

(voice low, deliberate)

It's… not human.

Suddenly, the corpse twitched. Spikes flexed like living weapons. With a guttural roar, it leapt toward them—a Death Walker, massive, spiked, unnatural.

Takashi reacted instinctively. He swung his pickaxe. The Death Walker struck, impaling his left hand. Pain flared, white-hot, but Takashi's body responded. A metallic sheen hardened his skin. His veins shimmered faintly. His scream echoed through the cavern.

RISHI

(yelling)

Takashi!

Energy burst from Takashi's chest. The Death Walker was hurled backward, crashing into stone, then disappeared beneath the shadows.

TAKASHI

(breath ragged)

I… feel… different…

Rishi grabbed his brother, fear and awe mixing on his face. Beneath the snow, shadows pulsed ominously—something far larger stirred.

EXT. MOUNTAIN RIDGE – NIGHT

Takashi flexed his new abilities. Rocks floated, trees shattered under his telekinetic force, snow exploded with every pulse.

RISHI

(amazed)

What… what are you doing?

TAKASHI

(intense)

Surviving. Learning. Preparing.

He felt the energy coursing through him, the blood of the first Death Walker now running in his veins. The mountain seemed to hum with awareness.

TAKASHI (V.O.)

I am changed. Something new… something stronger.

The blood of the first Death Walker runs in me…

And I must survive.

EXT. MOUNTAIN VALLEY – DAWN

The valley lay below, blanketed in snow. Takashi led Rishi and the survivors along a narrow path. Every step was calculated.

Suddenly, snow erupted as Death Walkers burst from beneath the frozen earth. Glowing red eyes pierced the white morning.

Takashi raised his hands. Energy pulsed outward in waves, obliterating dozens of creatures. Snow and ice splintered into fragments.

SURVIVOR #2

(amazed, whispering)

He… he's not human…

TAKASHI

(firm)

We survive first… we fight later.

Montage: The survivors train. Takashi teaches them to sense underground movement, to anticipate attacks, to react instinctively. Snow, rocks, debris—all became weapons.

EXT. VALLEY TOWN – NIGHT

A small settlement, ruined tents and collapsed shacks. The survivors fortified doors and windows. From below, scratching and rumbling—the Death Walkers were already moving.

SURVIVOR #3

(panicked)

They're inside!

Takashi slammed his hands on the frozen ground. Energy erupted, waves of force disintegrating dozens of Death Walkers instantly. Snow exploded, ice shards flew like knives.

RISHI

(firing rifle)

Move! Protect the civilians!

Two people were lost. Takashi's face hardened. His metallic skin glimmered in torchlight.

TAKASHI (V.O.)

I can't stop now… the more I fight, the stronger I become…

EXT. MOUNTAIN RIVER – NIGHT

A horde of Death Walkers descended. Takashi lifted boulders with his mind, hurling them into the fray. Energy pulsed from him, waves radiating outward, tearing creatures apart.

Rishi pushed survivors out of harm's way. Bullets tore the air. Takashi leapt, metallic skin reflecting moonlight. A Death Walker lunged, spiked arms snapping. Energy surged, and the creature shattered.

RISHI

(shouting)

Hold the line! He's saving us!

Takashi's fury became unstoppable. Snow melted, rivers ran red. Night screamed with the sound of war.

EXT. FORTIFIED TOWN – NIGHT

Traps went up: spikes, fire lines, collapsing snow barriers. Survivors learned fast.

Rishi dove into an attack to save children. He died, leaving Takashi screaming in rage.

TAKASHI

(shouting, raw)

No more! You take no one else!

Energy tore outward, obliterating Death Walkers. Takashi collapsed, bruised but alive. Underground, a massive red pulse—the Queen was awake, watching, plotting.

EXT. MOUNTAIN RIDGE – NIGHT

Takashi trained. Rocks and snow bent to his will. The Death Walkers adapted, but so did he.

TAKASHI (V.O.)

This is war. And I will win… even if it kills me.

EXT. KLONDIKE VALLEY – NIGHT

The Death Walker Queen emerged fully. Thirty feet of spiked terror.

SURVIVOR #1

(terrified)

It's… enormous! Run!

TAKASHI

(shouting)

Hold your ground! I will stop her!

The battle was a storm: boulders, energy blasts, snow shaping into weapons, slow-motion combat, debris and blood flying.

EXT. VALLEY TOWN – DAWN

The aftermath: destroyed settlements, survivors crawling from snow and rubble. Takashi stood, bruised, glowing faintly.

SURVIVOR #1

(amazed)

He… stopped her…

Underground, the Queen's remnants pulsed faintly.

TAKASHI

(to survivors)

We rebuild… stronger… the family line survives.

EXT. FUTURE TEASE – CENTURIES LATER

A city street. Neon reflections on wet asphalt. A Sinkaf descendant's hand glows faintly along a wall. Underground, faint pulses stir. Briar family crest etched in stone, glowing subtly.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Centuries pass… but some powers… some monsters… never die.
