i step back

he growls low
"this king never explains twice"
then he bends down
one kid per arm
picks them up like they weigh nothing
moves so smooth like he's done it a thousand times

i try to grab them back
"put my kids down!!"
he leans in lips brushing my ear voice dark
"you stole my bloodline and hid them in the human world for three years? today none of you are leaving"
the kids aren't scared at all
aurora actually hugs his neck
"uncle hair same as us!!"
aiden grabs his crown
"you the king uncle on tv?"
regulus mouth twitches almost a smile
that tiny smile hits me like a truck
three years ago he left without a word
now he's looking at our kids like they're the whole universe
i bite my lip hard
"regulus put them down we're done"
he laughs cold
