Jenifer's POV
The families here come from money or power—that's just how this school works. This craft competition? It's really just a fun activity for the kids. Nobody genuinely cares about who takes home the top prize.
Watching Lorelei make such a scene about winning only made the other parents look more disgusted.
Joanna already couldn't stand Lorelei, and now her expression turned absolutely frigid. "Ma'am, these crafts are entered under the children's names. It doesn't matter who assisted or which parent was present. This is about the child's achievement."
Lorelei wasn't having any of it. She was fixated on getting Romano that first-place win—if she could secure it for him, she'd earn serious points with him, and he'd be completely in her corner after that.
"Ms. Harper, I feel terrible for Romano. That poor boy wouldn't have those injured hands if he wasn't so determined to please his mother."
