The appearance of a Giant of Light left 'Jingliu' momentarily speechless.

However, as the Giant of Light interfaced with the Tuning, a warm glow enveloped the real Jingliu. Her manic expression visibly softened, becoming significantly more peaceful.

'Jingliu' took it all in. As the red sphere of light dissipated, a familiar figure appeared before her.

"Lingyi? Why are you here?"

"Mother, I am overjoyed to be reunited with you. But our priority right now is him—Doctor Primitive. I must arrest him so he can face trial by the Interastral Union!"

Compared to Baiming's initial impression of her, Lingyi's appearance hadn't changed much. However, her tone had grown more mature and notably gentler.

"You've grown, Lingyi. Let me help you."

'Jingliu' glanced at the real Jingliu, who had fallen silent and motionless after calming down. She decided to lend Lingyi a hand in capturing Doctor Primitive. That strike just now seemed to have wrecked whatever gadget the Doctor was using to flee.

Better to strike while the iron is hot.

But Lingyi looked thoughtfully at her mother's current appearance and the Jingliu standing beside her. "No need, Mother. You came here for Miss Jingliu, didn't you? We have always wanted to help her, but she has been very resistant to us. If Mother intervenes, I am certain you can save her."

"Furthermore, Doctor Primitive is dangerous. It would be bad if Miss Jingliu fell victim to his tricks."

Lingyi flew directly in front of her mother, positioning herself between them and the satellite where Doctor Primitive had crashed, taking up a vigilant stance.

Doctor Primitive—the notorious genius. His ambition was to devolve the entire universe into primitive beings and then force a restart of evolution from scratch. He believed this was the only way to grant the universe a brand-new future.

The Giants of Light had launched operations against him more than once. Working with the Galaxy Rangers, they had uprooted many of his experimental bases and sabotaged several of his projects.

But, as everyone knew, Doctor Primitive had the power to turn a person into a monkey. Many Galaxy Rangers had fallen victim to this. Even the Giants of Light... because most of them evolved from carbon-based lifeforms, they could still be affected if caught in their human forms.

However! The Giants of Light had an Aeon who was practically hovering over them with nothing better to do. Noah was watching almost every single Giant of Light.

Doctor Primitive's devolution methods targeted both the body and the will simultaneously. But with Noah's protection, the mental pollution was virtually ineffective. Even if they were hit while untransformed, the moment they turned into Giants, Noah could "log in" and purge the corruption from their consciousness.

And simply devolving a Giant's body was meaningless. To a Giant of Light, the physical body was the least of their concerns; as long as the will remained, they could evolve as many times as they were devolved.

Thus, after several encounters, the lead organization in the hunt for Doctor Primitive had gradually shifted from the Galaxy Rangers to the Land of Light. The Rangers now primarily focused on hunting down the Doctor's followers.

Still, even for the Land of Light, capturing a Genius was no easy feat. They had caught him a few times, only for him to escape every single time—as if some existence were pulling strings from the shadows.

As for Doctor Primitive... he had been chased by the Land of Light until he had lost his temper completely. Truly. In his heart, he had cursed the creators of the Giants of Light more times than he could count. This artificial race was an insult to his aesthetic!

Talking about devolving them... Doctor Primitive had personally witnessed a target he had successfully devolved into a sphere of light evolve right back into a Giant in front of his eyes. That shock nearly killed him with pure frustration.

He had tried sneak attacks when they weren't transformed, too. It worked—they turned into monkeys—but shortly after being carried back by their comrades, they'd come back as Giants and beat him up again. Where was the logic in that?

And! Every single one of these Giants could perform individual warp jumps. He had to prepare special tools, but the opposition just clapped their hands, turned into big red orbs, and flew at faster-than-light speeds. If it weren't for Polka Kakamu acting in secret, he would have been dragged back to the Land of Light for judgment ages ago.

This time, he felt he had been set up.

Doctor Primitive crawled out of the wreckage. He looked at the two identical Jinglius and the Lingyi who was hunting him. Then he looked at the culprit that had intercepted him—the Stellaron.

To suggest this confluence of low-probability events wasn't a trap... Doctor Primitive wouldn't believe it for a second. He even suspected Polka Kakamu had secretly given him a shove.

BOOM—!

Lingyi landed on the barren satellite like a heavy hammer. She stared coldly at Doctor Primitive. "Doctor Primitive, surrender. Unlike the others, I don't mind removing your limbs and stuffing you in a cage to bring you back to the Land of Light."

Within the Land of Light, Lingyi could be considered a representative of the "Hawks." Leaning toward the Path of Hunt, she was quite firm when dealing with enemies. Of course, she wasn't as firm as the Galaxy Rangers. Lingyi still cared about bringing him back for trial; a Galaxy Ranger would have just put a bullet in his head.

Watching from the sidelines, 'Jingliu' heard Lingyi's words and thought she was going to kill him; it turned out she just meant to leave him a cripple. That gave her a bit of a start.

Doctor Primitive, naturally, was unwilling to surrender. Although he had been knocked out of the sky and was temporarily unable to flee, he still had plenty of "wonder gadgets" on him. He could still fight. If he found an opening, he could still run.

Seeing his lack of cooperation, Lingyi struck decisively.

How was Doctor Primitive's own combat ability? It was "alright," but nothing special. However, a Genius fought with tools, so it couldn't be generalized.

Based on Lingyi's strength, 'Jingliu' could tell she was already far beyond an ordinary Pathstrider, her energy readings nearing those of a standard Emanator. It seemed Noah had been "watering" her quite a bit over the last few centuries.

However, Lingyi was clearly pulling her punches, fearing she might destroy the satellite and affect the life-bearing planet nearby. Combined with the Doctor's tools, they were momentarily at a stalemate.

But 'Jingliu' was still there. While she held back against the real Jingliu, she didn't need to do so against Doctor Primitive.

Just as 'Jingliu' was about to move, the chessboard she had been carrying flew out on its own. It was as if it had detected her need and triggered a "tutorial program."

The board landed in her hand, prompting her to inject Imaginary energy. Then, a phantom chessboard was projected across the battlefield.

A phantom figure, looking exactly like Doctor Primitive, appeared before everyone, accompanied by an intense Imaginary energy reaction.

"..."

Both Doctor Primitive and Lingyi stopped, falling into a wary stance.

But the phantom Doctor Primitive didn't say a word. It pulled out the exact same wonder gadgets and charged straight at the real Doctor Primitive.

The instigator, 'Jingliu,' hadn't even processed what was happening.

The chessboard can be used like this?? If that Arbitrator ever got into a real fight, what kind of insane scene would that be??
