"..." 'Star-shatterer' instinctively took half a step back. Uh-oh, was Herta actually some kind of clingy woman?
"Heh, just kidding. I'm sure you prepared an escape route long ago, and I don't mean the Phase Flame," Herta scoffed. "You don't look like you're kidding at all."
'Star-shatterer's cautious but unafraid expression made Herta chuckle. As expected, this person had an escape plan ready. "Fine, just remember to come." With that, the Herta puppet suddenly went quiet, having disconnected.
Baiming didn't rush off. Instead, she called AI Herta for an update. Since she had dismissed personnel and set up rules, the Herta Space Station had few staff. AI Herta handled most operations, and its most frequent task was unpacking deliveries—Madam Herta was sending her Curios in batches.
"Hmm, sounds like things are on the right track," 'Star-shatterer' noted. "Yes. When I promote an acting acting Station Master in the future, I won't have to be so busy," AI Herta replied.
'Star-shatterer' briefly toured the Curios. The unique containment items filled several compartments. She noticed the most detailed archive belonged to Curio No. 1: the Fire-source. Herta had spent time clarifying its technological mysteries, adding the information to an appendix.
"Ugh, this strange competitive streak." 'Star-shatterer' felt Madam Herta had deliberately left the file for her to see, a silent boast that she had solved the imposter's creation.
Just after 'Star-shatterer' finished reading, Madam Herta's communication returned: "Stop playing. The message to Ruan Mei has sunk into the sea. Come directly to Herta City." "...You reached that conclusion so fast?" "More or less. If it were me, I wouldn't waste time on a project I was interested in." "Alright. But are we really going to do all this in Herta City?"
"My suggestion is for you to come to my place. Honestly, I have a subtle premonition that perhaps this plan won't go very smoothly," the Herta puppet said, slightly frowning.
Herta explained that past accidents, which repeatedly put the Blue Planet in crisis, suggested some force might be hindering her work. She felt something would happen this time, too, and chose Herta City as the location where she could best quell any incident.
"Ah, if that's the case, I understand," 'Star-shatterer' said, instantly becoming wary.
Could it be the Lord of Silence? Or the grand hand of Preservation? The latter was possible, as the Aeon was known to intervene to maintain cosmic balance.
Since Ruan Mei couldn't be contacted, 'Star-shatterer' had no reason to stay. Despite a slight unease, it was time to leave.
'Star-shatterer' touched the silver ring. Phase Flame engulfed her body, obscuring Herta's view. Baiming seized the opportunity to cancel the character card impersonation.
Her vision returned once more to a blurry state. Baiming looked at the dimmed character card:

The lifespan countdown began. However, for a lifespan of one hundred years, a few or even a dozen seconds were directly omitted and unrecorded.
As always, the remaining impersonation time turned into a recharge progress bar. On the card, Star-shatterer's image showed her right arm completely intact. It hadn't become a mechanical arm, and the character card showed no extraneous changes. It looked like the status would be refreshed directly when she impersonated the character again after recharge. That was quite good.
And after canceling the impersonation, the system's settlement reward followed: [Reward Settlement: Impersonated Star-shatterer. Successfully gathered a large amount of Emotional Value without finding the real body. The Host can acquire a portion of Star-shatterer's talent.]
