Ivy and I stood side by side as Firefly emerged from the boiling water behind him.
"Let's try that again!" Firefly shouted slamming his glowing fists together causing a wave of rippling heat to wash over us. Ivy winced back but I was mostly immune barely feeling the heat wave's effects. I wasn't sure if my metallic form could actually melt, but if it could, it would take more heat than Firefly had hit me with so far.
"You really decided to spin the block after I whipped your ass last time? You couldn't just hold the L?" I said in an attempt to distract him with talk while I tested out a theory. I tried to reach Ivy through the plants around us, attempting to communicate with her directly or through them.
Surprisingly, it worked, and a mental message instantly passed between us.
'Hey, Ms Ivy when I attack you fall back and strike from range. I can handle his heat but you can't. Also, I'll be talking to you like this from now on.' I waited for the standoff to end after that.
So I stared into Firefly's burning eyes; they were like hot coals. Two orbs of pure heat and hate nothing but anger inside them. I noticed odd cracks of lava-like skin around them and it took me a moment to realize that they were the scars from the glass that cut open his eyes. If only they'd managed to blind him permanently.
They narrowed as heat waves of tension washed over us; then with the fall of a single leaf reaching the ground, we exploded towards each other.
"DIE YOU LITTLE BASTARD!" He roared at me, charging forward my fist balled and wind magic coiled about it and thrust it forward. A wall of hard glass wind formed where our fists met. His was covered in blazing thermal radiation; mine in ethereal white light. The air cracked and shattered like glass and using the sonic blast ability to enhance the explosion we flew apart at a rapid speed but I caught myself in the air.
Flying was getting easier and easier these days and I could move smoothly enough that air step and anti-gravity were starting to feel like second nature. Honestly, if I could I'd stay in the air all day long but unfortunately that just wasn't how life worked out so far.
Narrowing my eyes I searched for Firefly hed been flung back across the small lake, skipping across the water like a hot stone, and was currently being held down by more of Ivy's vines.
I was about to fly forward to continue the fight when it exploded with force and light. The resounding boom knocked me out of the air and I landed in a flaming ball of heated metal.
The force disoriented me more than anything else and the bouncing crash hadn't helped either. I felt the heat but it didn't burn exactly and when I'd finally regained myself I stood from my own smoking crater black trails streaming behind me.
"What the fuck just hit me?" I said checking my body for dents or scratches. I didn't find any major ones, but I could feel a little back pain for a few moments only for the white light shining from my body to pulse and the pain to fade entirely.
I scowled the moment I realised that my hoodie had been shredded to pieces but more importantly, I started getting more messages from Ivy and the other plants around me.
'Little Kai are you okay? This damn fly isn't here by himself,' Ivy sent me the message.
'Yeah, I kinda noticed on account of getting hit by whatever that was. Speaking of which did you see what hit me?'
'Some kind of rocket and -' before she could finish the plants around me swirled with life and energy sending me a warning that multiple cards were approaching and surrounding the entire forest.
Faster than words can communicate I asked them where Selina and Holly had gone and they told me they were running through the forest as someone chased them from the trees.
Then Ivy screamed and I knew I had to choose between finishing this and finding them. Cursing I soared up and after a few moments I decided to go to Ivy. She was at a bigger disadvantage and she was directly in front of me, currently dodging through Firefly's rain of glowing blows.
I flew at them so close yet so far. At some point Firefly flew and started chasing Ivy as she summoned giant tentacle after tentacle, hopping between them. Because of course he could fly no wonder he crashed through the roof. Still no idea how the bastard found us anyway.
"I'm gonna fry you alive!" He screamed towards her hands burning when one of her plants smacked him down only for a ripple of heat to radiate out from it and the entire plant burst apart and a beam of burning yellow nearly caught Ivy. Instead, she leaped from the plant carrying her down into a pile of massive cotton and lily pads.
He flew up and screamed back down at her like a leporn of fire chasing its leafy prey. I bulldozed into him with a grapple and a sonic blast-boosted snap launching the two of us into the ground.
Crashing I recovered as quickly as I could shifting my hand into a spiked metal mace and flying towards him. He weaved my first swing ducking to his left then countering with a thermally enhanced left hook. Even in my metal mode I was significantly shorter than him so I dropped my anti-grav and air-stepped, falling to the floor dodge before summoning a bubble of anti-gravity and flinging Firefly up before quickly casting a lightning bolt down into his back crashing him to the floor.
I stepped towards him shifting both my hands to have Wolverine-style claws. Charging with a burst of wind beneath my feet he tried to evade my lunge only for me to slash open his side anyway.
"Son of a bitch!" He shouted at me firing another barrage of heat beams I dodged them all as I charged at him again.
"Oh, you should not have said that," I growled, trying out a more liquid form for my hand and trying a grab; he dodged mostly but caught his hand and pulled him in. He tried to pulse his hand with power to melt me off of him but I just reeled him in closer and shifted one hand into a hammer smashing it into his molten ribcage.
"It's hammer time bitch!" Shouting my Hammer Hands whipped him aside and smashed him into a dense group of trees and other plants that quickly caught fire.
Then I heard the screeching of tires and before I knew it a helicopter was flying towards me while dozens of cars and bikes surrounded me and stopped in a circle.
Sure enough, Kravens ' henchmen and a bunch of black-masked goons had shown up. Then one larger cruiser in the middle opened its door and out walked Black Mask. Meanwhile, Firefly roared a beam of energy at me from the flaming tree line before stalking out.
The two villains stopped to look at each other for a moment before they both nodded in recognition.
'I suppose game recognises game or some bull shit like that.'
Then Firefly got closer as Black Mask pulled out a white and black megaphone and turned on the speaker.
-[ "Hey there kid you don fucked up. See you stole from me and I don't like it when people steal from me." ]-
I tuned him out instead; my mind started racing on what to-do first. I settled on trying to contact Ivy again.
A quick confirmation that she was alive but injured was exchanged between us through the flora. Then as Black Mask continued to mono lounge I called for Mimi through our mental link who subtly approached in bird form. Although she didn't have the biomass for anything too big yet she could totally shift into a mini version of something dangerous. So I had her approach black mask as a fly and land behind him waiting for my signal. Then I readied Blink and my newest wind spell a simple but sharp wind blade that I could shoot in any direction.
-[ "Thats why nobody fucks with Roman Fuckinng Si-"]-
"Yeah yeah that sounds nice and all but, I'm gonna stop you right there," I spread my hand smirking wryly, "I do not care bro, Imma be real," I smiled before pumping my body full of as much magical energy as I could gather while my own white aura began to grow faster and faster.
-[ "Alright then get boys,"]- Black Mask narrowed his eyes. Then the goons all raised their guns and fired even a few bazookas. Meanwhile, Firefly stepped forward his flaming aura rising to meet mine.
Yellow-orange clashed with beautiful white light as waves of heat and energy rolled between us. Slamming his glowing fist into his blazing palms. Thermal energy radiated off of him. She grinned with molten teeth; his eyes stormed with a ravenous hunger for revenge.
"I'm about to cook your shit kid," He growled his black skin still cracking with energy as flames continued to ignite around his body the light of his figure reflecting off my metallic skin.
"Sure sure whatever you say old man, but before that, I just got one last thing to say," I said my glowing white eyes locking with his own evil orange ones.
"And what's that you damn brat?"
"Dismayed FN!" I shouted as dozens of wind blades soared at Firefly and the goons who opened fire all at once.

Hey guys I decided what the white light coming off of Kairo's body is and what kind of metal he's made from.
Also from now on, I think I'm going to stick more to third person rather than first.
