Chapter 7 - The boy, the monster, and the horny system

I'm really sorry about the late upload, guys. I honestly hadn't even realised it's been about two weeks since I uploaded to this story, and I meant to do so every single week.

So, once again, I'm really sorry about that, and I hope this fic hasn't lost its audience or anything.

My bad, y'all. I've just had a lot on my plate, not a lot of time to write, plus I have a trip, summer classes, and a funeral coming up, so that's kept me rather busy. That's not really an excuse, though, so I'll try to do better.

Plus, I kept editing and adding things, but I kept losing my progress, which pushed it back by about a whole day of writing, and I lost several paragraphs. Eventually, I just got frustrated and left whatever mistakes happened in there. The final product went down from about 7,000 words to about 5,960.

[Location: Gotham City, New Jersey, Black Masks Territory]

[Third-person point of view]

Tommypaced outside a warehouse; his partner, Austin, was already running a few minutes behind, but the longer they had to make the boss wait, the worse it would go.

He kept pacing and checking the time on his new watch as he waited for Austin to arrive. Soon enough, an all-black truck with blacked-out windows.

The window quickly rolled down, and Tommy recognized Austin inside.

"Oi get in," Austin called out, taking off his shades and placing them inside his suit pocket. Tommy shook his head and got in, throwing a black bag in the back seat.

"Damn it, Austin, you're running late. What the hell happened?" Tommy asked angrily, slamming the door of the truck as he got in.

"Fuckin car trouble, you don't think the boss will blame us for being a few minutes behind though, do ya?" Austin said, brushing a hand through his light blonde curls.

"How the fuck would I know? Ever since Victor went missing, the boss has been even more angry than usual." Tommy shook his head, sighing in frustration.

"Man, you ever figure out what the deal between those two was? They totally had a weird vibe, right?"

"Nah, never figured it, but I don't think he and the boss were together or anything, but it was certainly strange. Turn left here." Tommy pointed as his friend hit the turn signal and switched lanes.

"Hey Oz?" Tommy said voice turning a bit grim.

"Yeah, what's up?"

"The fucking bat signal is out tonight, we'd better hurry up," Tom said, pointing out to the midnight sky.

"Really? Shit, we have to pay low then, last thing we need is a brawl with the bat." Oz growled briefly, glancing at the shadowy streets around them.

"Hell, are we sure he's even real?" Tommy asked as they took on another turn towards the Bowery.

"GCPD seems to think so, and I'm not inclined to find out." Austin frowned, thinking of the pigs. The last thing he needed right now was a brawl with the bat and the pigs.

The two stayed silent for a while, making their way to the shady ports of Gotham. It took them about 10 minutes before they were pulling up to the main gate of one of Gotham's shipyards.

The two of them nodded to each other and Tommy grabbed the bag out of the back seat, taking out two skull masks. After masking up, Austin made the light signals that signified they were welcome here and two goons glanced at each other. Then with a quick nod, Austin's left started to approach closer.

They expected the gate to open as usual, but it didn't. Instead, two armed guards in dark suits and black masks stopped them. One of the two walked up to the vehicle, quickly knocking on the window.

"Password?" The goon asked, his voice distorted slightly by the dark mask. Oz had almost forgotten about that part; the shipyard was a new addition to the boss's operation

"Black box," Austin answered quickly.

The other goon nodded and signaled to the others to open the gate. They swiftly slid open and Autin pushed the car slowly into the shipyard.

Red, blue, and green containers passed by as the two drove past the gates and towards a gathering of other trucks.

Stepping out of the vehicle the two friends quickly grabbed assault rifles out of the back of their truck and approached the gathering of men.

But as Austin stepped past the left front wheel of the truck, a small, bat-shaped device blinked briefly with a dim red light.

Joining the hundreds of other goons gathered around in a circle, the two of them stood silently as they watched the proceedings. Several crates were stacked around them in a circle all of them with guards holding sniper rifles.

In the center of the circle, two men sat opposite each other. On one side, a man in an all-white suit his face was entirely covered by what most assumed was a simple mask, was actually ebony carved from his mother's coffin, and was at one point burned into his skin so severely that it has become indistinguishable from his actual face. Unfortunately for him, it's said he was quite the looker as well before that.

Roman Sionis, aka Black Mask, wears an all-white striped suit and black undershirt with black gloves and black dress shoes.

The crime boss had his hands folded together and his shining white teeth clenched together in a neutral expression, plastered across his face.

Across from him, a man in an odd half-black and half-white suit leaned back in a relaxed posture. Behind him, a second sea of goons, half black in black suits with white stripes and half in white suits with black stripes, faced off against Black Mask's forces.

The man himself had his face covered by a long white mop of hair a pair of sinister eyes glaring out from behind the curtain of snow white.

The two men stayed silent for a moment and the crowd around them murmured. Tommy stood next to his childhood friend glancing around and hoping nobody noticed they were late. Then he bumped Austin's shoulder.

"Hey ask someone what's going on. They're just staring at each other." Tommy whispered gesturing to the center of the circle of goons. The other side of the circle wasn't just Black Mask's men either there was another group across from them.

"Why the hell do I have to be the one to do it? Yo do it." Austin whispered back.

"Because I did it last time now do it," Tommy grumbled angrily. "Besides your the reason we're late anyway."

"I told you that was car trouble it's not my fault," Austin grumbles back angrily.

"Tch just do it," Tommy says shaking his head.

Austin sighed then took a few steps, leaned over to the nearest goon next to him, and whispered.

"Pss yo what I miss?"

"Uh, most of it their making the final deal now. The other guy already decided to hear him out and then they started negotiating. Well, Ms Li did anyway."

Two goons started recapping the meeting.

Meanwhile, in the circle, Two-Face flipped a single coin back and forth between his fingers, rolling it between each finger before passing it back. Then he flipped it up into the air letting it spin for a moment before catching it.

He covered it with one of his hands before staring over at Roman. Black Mask pulled his face into a grin before calling out.

"Heads." his bright red eyes tracked the coin as it sailed through the air.

Then the two-sided criminal snatched his trademark coin hungrily like a starving piranha and looked down at the results, it was heads.

"Lucky guess." Two-Face's eyes narrow, glaring balefully down at the coin before looking back up at Roman. Grumbling something too quiet for anyone in the crowd to hear.

"Fine," he growled pocketing the custom coin in his breast pocket before standing upright.

Black Mask stood up as well, red eyes locking with Two-Face's mismatched ones.

"How grand we have deal then." His smile widened as he walked over to the former district attorney. He stretched out a hand to the other villain and Two-Face shook it.

"I don't typically like working with Red Skull-looking motherfuckers but the coin says what it says," Two-Face growled scraping a very much loaded Uzi off the table.

"That's good because I already set up the proper bait for the Bat," Roman said clapping his hands together before sliding them down into his pockets.

"That orphanage you were talking about?" He said frowning deeply the exposed blue side of his face grimacing.

"Yeah, the one run by that old bag on the edge of our turf borders. She was behind on her payments anyway." He says causally waving away the villain's concerns.

"And the kids?" Two-Face growled his voice scratching like nails on a chalkboard.

"Bah, they'll be fine." He gestured offhandedly before turning to look over his shoulder.

"Ms Li!" the woman stepped forward, she was in a grey suit and a pencil skirt. Li had handled most of the fine details of Black Mask's business proposal on how to finally get rid of the bat once and for all.

"Yes sir?" She said, " The picture of modern professionalism. A woman like her looked like she'd belong more inside of a corporate office than anywhere else and yet despite being surrounded by easily over a hundred armed gangsters she seemed as cool as a cucumber.

"Is the live stream set up and ready?"

"Yes sir, all we need to do is start the stream." She replies adjusting the glances on her face.

"Good now let's have the bat take the bait first before we start." Black Mask says turning to walk away. Two-Face follows silently the asian secretary follows both of them.

"Once we get back to Club Siren, let's have a toast to breaking the bat once and for all!" Roman shouts and several of the goons cheer back in response to his words.

"Here here," Two-Face says dryly.

Meanwhile, farther away, one of the above the dark knight himself placed his binoculars back in his utility belt as he finished watching the proceedings.

"Well, what bow master Wayne I do hope you don't plan on falling for their trap."

"The best way to figure out what a trap is, is to spring it. Patch Batgirl in, she'll be closer to the orphanage. Whatever Roman is up to well stop him but under no circumstances can we allow the children to be hurt." Bruce said keeping his voice low enough for only his com piece to hear.

"Very well, Master Bruce. I'll tell her right away and happy hunting sir."

"Right," Bruce said in a monotone as ever but his eyes lingered on Two-Face for a little while longer.

[Location: Gotham City, New Jersey, Gotham City Orphanage]

[First-person point of view]

[Kairo Oyama]

Kairo had been making his way home swifter than ever. At first, he'd thought about walking, just wanting to conceal his abilities from the bat, but then he realized that Batman already knew he had abilities far beyond those of a normal five-year-old.

Not to mention, Kai was fairly certain that he was somewhat faster and stronger than a normal human would be at his age, even without his current abilities, so instead of a casual walk. Kairo decided to cast a simple spell called Win Runner.

The spell was simple for him to cast and was his own custom-made design. The book of aeromancy not only had several pre-made spells but also provided a method for crafting new ones as well.

So getting home had taken only about a third of the time, speed walking and he only appeared as a particularly fast child with a pleasant breeze behind him.

He could have pushed the spell harder. He could have run faster, he could have done so many more things than he did.

So when he returned to see a sea of flames where his new home once stood something Ksiro shifted.

None of the joy and laughter that defined his movements beforehand disappeared in an instant. He was really running now, moving with a speed and swiftness most people could never have.

By the time he'd even realised he was moving, he was already bursting inside the building. He recalled the gauge remnants of a conversation with the matron who'd collected as many of the children as she could before getting out.

He'd screamed at her to tell him if anyone was still in there with a force that startled even him. The fear on her face had surprised Kai, maybe even more than the fire itself. She had never treated him differently for his looks or his abilities, to her he was just another orphan. Now though when he looked in her eyes he didn't see faint warmth but fear.

Even then he didn't stop asking her. Then she did as he asked, stuttering out a response while clutching the youngest children with one arm and a case with all the most important paperwork for the children in the other. If any object in the orphanage needed to survive it was that case and supposedly it was one of the few things she did.

But she hadn't gotten everyone. First, Tye had been missing from the start. Then Jimmy who had been stuck with the flames between him and the matron. She'd told him to run and he did but she had no idea if the boy had made it. Last was Jason and Anna the last time she saw them Jason was trying to duck his way through a burning hallway.

Finding the first of them was easy Tye is only a few years older than Kai but he has the sense to try and get out. He found him trying to unlock a door and get out when Kairo broke it down with a few plants.

Those same plants then caught fire which wasn't exactly the plan but Kairo adapted quickly. First, he tried to think of any plant that released water he couldn't but he remembered that cactuses store water in them and there are plenty of water-filled fruits.

These a quick and hot wave of steam which reminds him of the heat rumbling around him. Activating dragon scales the heat becomes practically irrelevant to him. The door opened Kairo picks up the stunned Tye and runs him out the door, dropping him on the pavement.

A notification from the system appears in the corner of his eyes but he ignores it moving back into the burning building. Running back in Kai hears screaming coming from one of the upper floors. The stairs however are consumed in fire and only moments away from collapsing.

His mind darts around quickly for a solution. Smoke inhalation alone is already annoying his lungs where it should be causing a normal person to collapse so he has more time than most to think. Still, his mind is frantically racing for answers and a few come to him.

Sacrificing the use of poison factory and hawk eyes to slot in two other abilities. Forming a quick spell for wind blast Kai bursts over the flames before running on the air using his light steps ability.

He's running quickly another wind runner spell already in use as he climbs up the stairs. He hadn't realised just how useful the Hawk-Eyes ability was. Where before his vision was mostly clear and it was easy to navigate, now the dark smoke filling the hallways makes it practically a maze.

Luckily for him when you live somewhere for so long it's easy to navigate even with your eyes closed, and Kai's eyes are wide open. Wide open and dried out from the smoke and flames. The smoke chokes him still and he's contemplating trying to forge a new spell something like an air bubble that will keep the smoke itself out of his lungs stop it from singeing his body.

He doesn't have time for that though as there's another pitiful cry for help followed by a terrible angry voice.

A man tall and sinister if not wildly dressed in a suit that can only be described as the image of a high-tech bug, clamping a fist around Jimmy's throat.

Behind him through the smoke the terrified figures of Jason and Anna back away from the super villain.

Kai's eyes dart around the scene just as quickly as the villains do to him. In that moment he knew he didn't have the time to figure out who or what he was facing.

Instead, he was ducking as the black yellow figure glared down at him, with large red eyes, pointing a guantleted hand and fires.

A bright yellow beam of energy fires right at Kairo and it's only the blink skill that saves him from being hit. Turning to look at the results a hole has been burned into the wooden wall behind him which quickly bursts into flames.

A direct fight is a bad option then so Kai's mind does what it does best. It pivots to another option, the Bloom skill may seem like a bad option here but it just might not be.

If this villain is exactly who Kairo thinks he is then it's a fair bet that anti-gravity and most wind spells won't work and he hasn't learned how to use any lightning spells yet.

So instead he decides to use plants as a distraction then when he gets in close he'll finish it.

And so the battle begins, blinking around Kairo makes his way to Jason and Anna first. The villain in the hallway turns with a growl of frustration.

"Oh great first that Home Alone bullshit now a kid who teleports! What the hell is this place? Hogwarts!" The villain yells dripping Jimmy's forgotten body to the ground. He starts to charge but Kairo is already moving no idea if he can teleport with other people yet he wraps a few vine tendrils around himself before shooting out two thicker tentacles around the other two children. Then with two more he uses them to amp his speed even higher.

"What the fuck!" Jason yells while Anna just screams loud enough to hurt the ears of everyone present. Before he can think Kairo's down the hallway with a swiftness only a wind runner can provide while simultaneously summoning a wall of trees between him and the yellow pyromaniac villain.

"Go-" The Villain yells only to have his voice muffled by the trees and growing shrubbery.

Kairo runs into his room quickly moving the other kids with him having now wrapped their mouths to toe. Mostly for their own good. Kairo's room isn't on fire fully just yet, just some small embers flickering around along with plenty of smoke.

Making his way to the window he gazes outward to the dark streets. The crowd has gathered fully now and the other children seem fine if not distraught at watching the only home many of them have ever known burn to cinders.

'No fire department?' His eyes narrow suspiciously but he's still moving mostly on instinct and what he thinks are the right decisions.

He grabs Flowy from his favorite spot on the windowsill before opening it and taking the time to lower the now unconscious other children out of the window to the streets.

Quickly some of the few gathered adults see Kairo lowering them down from the window and unwrapping them before setting them down gently. Two of them quickly rush forward, frantically gathering the children in their arms.

Turning back to the door as soon as it crashes in Kairo clutches Flowy's pot tightly and lifts himself off the ground as the armored enemy enters the room.

"Well well, plants too huh, don't you know fire and bug beat grass types?" The red-eyed villain glares at Kai his yellow helmet reflecting the crackling flames of the consumed doorway around him.

The villain whom Kai now recognises as Firefly balls his fists at the sides, bright yellow markings glowing with unknown energy fed to them by yellow-orange tubes. His fingers twitch as the two lock eyes Kai's vines raising in a way that vaguely reminds him of Doc Oc or Kaneki.

His mind swirls still assessing the best path to victory. He's always been a quick thinker, as fast on his feet as he is with his mind which is considerably faster than most people with Wind Runner casted. So Kai paints his mental picture of the battlefield as the two lock in a dramatic standoff.

There in a confined space and that's an advantage for now but if Firefly can get off a direct shot it might be over. Dragon scales will protect him but the beams of superheated liquid Firefly fires aren't exactly flames so he's not sure if his elemental resistance will be enough. It's indoors though so he can still catch him off guard with a slam into the walls or ceiling without the villain trying to take to the air.

Then the true idea comes and Kai rushes forward, Firefly breaks the lock at the same time hands charged with balls of scorching yellow material.

The two chemical blasts collide with the upper tendrils first bursting through them but stopping there. Kai gets closer in what feels like a heartbeat and Firefly only manages to get off a barrage of three shots before he is standing in punching range which is exactly what the villain tries to do.

But Kai summons an anti-gravity bubble slamming the costumed enemy into the roof above hard enough to crack the weakened ceiling. Then sliding below him the tenicles grip and slam Firefly back down into the charring floor with a wicked crack. The villain quickly tries to activate his jet pack but Kai is already on him slamming him into the left and right walls with almost viscous strength before dragging him back to Kai.

The silver-scaled boy rushes forward, Flowy still being carried in one arm and summons his last learned spell while using another ability in a combo he's been dying to make ever since he obtained it.

Right before he reaches the stunned Firefly he summons a glass-thin yet large barrier of solid transparent air before slamming his hand into it. Cracks trace throughout the air in front of him before shattering utterly. The sound of air cracking and smashing is already loud, like a window shattering.

But with the help of the sonic blast ability that loud noise becomes earth-shattering. It's loud enough to crack and shatter anything made of glass left in the room. Including Firefly's red eyes as he's sent flailing through the broken window in an amplified boost of air.

The spell, Wind Breaker, is designed to be used in fandom with Sonic Blast to do maximum damage. The spell itself only summons a thin barrier of air that is particularly fragile and loud when cracked or broken but it also sends a wave of wind in the direction opposite to the side it's broken from. The air wave is only somewhat strong but with the help of Sonic Blast, it's much more potent. After all what is sound but the energy generated by vibrations through a medium and one of its most common media is air.

The broken glass in his helm stabs in his face and judging from his screams as he falls from the second floor it's enough to distract him as he launches out, crashing down to the ground in a heap.

Kai stands there a moment Flowy clutched in his grasp carefully breathing steadily which is starting to be much more difficult with the accumulating smoke in the air. He rushes forward watching Firefly writhing on the ground before creating a few thick roots to wrap him up in an angle that prevents his hands from burning away the plants or escaping with his jetpack.

He breathed deeply coughs and starts to leave out the window when he remembers.

"Jimmy! Shit!"

Kai turned back to the burning hallway and the flame consumed the doorway. He stops trying to think of a solution when he suddenly jolts when Flowy makes a suggestion.

He nods as the bright green glow in his eyes intensifies as he runs forward.

Barbara arrives as quickly as she can but is already late. The orphanage is consumed in flames already and it's all she can do not to stand still in shock.

She leaps from the top of a nearby building, she partcores down swiftly. Running over to the matron standing outside keeping all of the children together with the help of some of the other ones.

She's about to ask the woman if anyone's left inside when a window opens and two bodies are lowered to the floor by what looks like vines and unwrapped.

She frowns and decides to simply run in while reporting the presence of a possible meta on the scene to Alfred.

Shes quick, covering her face and mouth with the cowl and cape provided to her by Bruce. The costume is fireproof enough for flames not to burn her at all.

Soon enough she's up the collapsing stairs and there's still no sign of the metta human. Calling out for anyone who might hear her she just hears a boom and the shattering of glass as walls crackle with flame and the ceiling starts to fall one panel at a time.

Then there's a loud crash of glass followed by a boom from the end of the hall. She runs forward to follow after it only to see a small boy collapsed on the floor with slight burns. There are flames between them and a segment of the ceiling collapses as she runs through.

She uncovers her face again only to be met with a large wooden figure covered partly in flames, shielding the small boy with its body. The figure rises, shirking off several large shards of burning wood.

It stands to its full height still big, yet smaller than Batgirl thought hed be. The two lock eyes. One pair glowing, the other mundane, but both green.

The figure turns away from her, gently cradling the boy in its wooden arms before running away with him. She gives chase but he's too fast, enhanced speed perhaps?

It doesn't matter because he's headed out of the hallway into the room with the shattered door. She runs after him but it's no use he's already gone by the time she enters the room.

And by the time she's looking out the window, he's setting the boy down gently by the Matron and the rest of the frightened children. They share a nod, an unspoken understanding passing between them before he's leaving, whipping up long green vines into the air gripping buildings, and swinging away. She also notices basically a crucified form of Firefly on an oddly shaped tree and puts together that the two weren't exactly allies.

Taking out her grapple gunnBarbara fires the hook out of the burning orphanage, her instinct to chase already activating. The moment she's out there though she looks back at the burning orphanage and the children alongside Firefly's unconscious body.

Firefly might get away if she goes but if she stays the other superhuman definitely gets away, if it even is a human at all. He's swinging from building to building each vine digging in before landing near a manhole cover. He quickly stretches out a tentacle to lift it.

She could still make it still hunt him through the sewer and catch him if she's careful enough. But that's a fight she can't guarantee a victory in and Firefly is the one who actually burnt down the orphanage.

It's a gamble but ultimately if the plant monster does have a connection to this orphanage then she may be able to get something out of the Matron if not now then later.

"Tch, no good options." She frowns then makes a choice. She runs back to the blazing building groaning about how annoying tonight's report is going to be.

[Gotham City, New Jersey, The Sewer]

[Third Person POV]

[Kairo Oyama]

Kai sits in the sim sewers contemplating the day's events. The sensation of it isn't even all that unpleasant. The wetness of it can't reach him through the wooden mech suit around him and enough mint and lavender is surrounding his nose for the smell not to bother him. He also finally allows Mimi to change out of her bag form on his back and into her more humanoid one though she keeps away from the sewer water still.

So he breathes deep and sighs. His home is gone and most of his experimental concoctions along with it. He can probably come back around for any essential paperwork he needs and store it in his inventory.

He can't stay with them anymore though that's for sure. If he's hoes back he's liable to get caught and shipped off to Arkham by the bat or something worse. Whoever sent Firefly to the orphanage had some sort of reason behind it. He doubted the pyromaniac wanted to just burn it down for no reason and more often than not characters like him are being hired by someone else.

More importantly, he decides to finally check the system that's been notifying him ever since he got his first. The panel pops up and it's a little shocking just how many rewards he's gotten.

[New Achievement! Childhood hero!]

[Congratulations! You have saved the lives of several others while still being a minor!]

[Reward x3 Bronze Gacha tickets!]

[New Achievement! Out of the frying pan!]

[Congratulations! You have charged headlong into a burning building without hesitation.]

[Reward: x2 Silver Random Gacha Tickets]

[New Achievement! Swatting a Fly!]

[Congradulations! You have defeated the super villain known as Firefly!]

[Reward x1 random golden Gacha ticket]

He decides to save the more important roles for later when he's somewhere safe and starts out with the bronze tickets. Kai rolled the fist of the two Gacha tickets and was immediately blinded by an all-consuming flash of light. It was a light so bright that it easily spread across the entire cosmos and back again in a wave.

Many beings, all cosmic in nature, felt as if something was wrong or off, and yet not a single one could place what had occurred. All then decided to dismiss the strange feeling and resume their previous activities.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Kairos' vision had now cleared, and he was now reading the description of his first role while trying to not to let his shock consume him.

[Rule 63]

|Rare Trait|

["Where Banana?" Reality across all of existence has been twisted, warped, retconned, and remade to make some men women. Or women, men.]

Kairo blinked twice, trying not to get too distracted. Sure it makes things a little more complicated than before but not impossible. Although it might sabotage any plans he has of figuring out who in the world his father is though.

He sighs then pulls out the next bronze Gacha ticket. Running his hands over it briefly, he grips it carefully and pulls.

[Bitch Breaker]

|Uncommon Trait|

[Sometimes all a bad attitude needs is a good fucking, you are an expert at correcting attitudes through sex correction.]

(A/N I'm sure that won't be helpful in the future at all. 🤣)

'Sometimes life gives you lemons, other times life gives you. I don't know, Key lime pie? No, lemon pound cake, yes, lemon pound cake is much better for this analogy.' Kairo thinks nodding with a chuckle.

He feels an odd tingling sensation coming from his crotch but other than that nothing changes although he can't quite check while covered in a bunch of wood, flowers, and vines. Still, it makes him smile as he feels the change and has to adjust the armor for more space.

Then he tears the last of the bronze tickets quickly before he can waste any more time. For all he knows Bathirl is still chasing him and even if she's not hell still needs to find a safe place to stay preferably tonight.

[Oedipus Simple]

|Uncommon Trait|

["Complex? I think you'll find it is quite simple." There is nothing wrong with keeping it in the family. Society as a whole does not find it particularly morally wrong if you marry your own kin. In addition, all genetic problems that could possibly occur with inbreeding are resolved. Any biological conceived and born children of yours inherit your traits far better and inherit at least two of your abilities. It is easier to earn the affection of your family, platonically or romantically. This trait can be rerolled for free.]

Another flash of light consumed all of Kairo's vision. He blinked twice, removing the fuzz of light from his eyes, then he reread the description.

His first thought was 'Eww gross,' his second was to read it again to make sure.

"This fucking day, man." Kairo sighed, rolling his eyes and dismissing the panel for now. He's had enough of the system's nonsense for tonight and it's not like the trait is forcing him to have a romantic relationship with anyone. Besides he just so happens to be an orphan anyway and he doubts he and his mother will be reuniting any time soon.

Standing up in the tunnel Mimi walks beside him now in the form of a crocodile. Kairo raises a brow but doesn't say anything until he walks a little further forward and he hears something.

So far the only other life they've encountered were rats and bugs but now the sound is coming from something much larger than that. Kai looks down at Mimi whose starring back up at him.

Then as if on cue two large yellow predatory eyes appear in the darkness of the sewer. They rise, gross green liquid seeping off the massive dark figure.

"WHO ARE YOU GRRRAAAHHH."

The massive scaled man growls savagely at them. Kairo knows who he is instantly, this man is the main reason that Kai didn't want to linger in the sewers of the city and he's just gotten lucky enough to run right into him.

Standing at eleven feet of reptilian scales, jagged claws, sharpened teeth, and raging instincts. With a weight of reaching up to 1000+ lbs (454 kg) of mutated fat and muscle.

Killer Croc looms above the young white-haired mutant in all his mutation-type quirks horrible savage glory.

XXX

So, what did you guys think of Black Mask this chapter? I tried to make him a solid mix of the live-action and animated versions since I'm not as familiar with the comic book version of the character.

As for Two-Face well let's just say I have plans for him and the future.

Also, what do you guys think of Killer Croc being a mutation-type quirk user?

Out of all my stories, this one is honestly my favorite to write about. Mainly because it's easy and extremely fun as well. I've honestly been thinking of dropping one or two of my other stories in favor of writing this more often.

Anyway, what gender swaps would you all like to see?

Anyway, remember to comment and drop a review if you can, and maybe turn on notifications so you can catch whenever I upload the next chapter.
