Chapter 5 - Calling Stars and Apples

Several days have gone by, by then I have mostly been visited by Samuel when he wasn't being chewed out for not doing his work.

Rarely have I seen any other angel other than him, but considering I got a ticket for one of them watching me from afar, I figured they have ways to check up on me without actually being here.

Every night, while I meditated, something I was half sure was inportant to Airbending, I have tried to reach out into the Void…to the voices that try whisper in my ears and yet I could not make out their contents.

Eventually learning to decipher them little by little, I realized this was where Caryll Runecraft comes in.

And they had…a lot of options, mostly resistances, a whole bunch of them, be it shock, fire, physical, they even had ones for madness.

Though I didn't really need any of them…I was perfectly good in the Garden of Eden, with no real reason to go past the gate that I discovered the gate that served as the one and only entrance and exit from here.

Also was when I came close that Michael—who was probably watching me at the time—shined down in a pillar of light to tell me that I was not to go out, as the world was unlike the garden, a chaotic mess of half finished or unsupervised work.

To which I nodded immediately and turned around after hearing the rule, I had no reason not to, who wants to be eaten by dinosaurs?

I spent time meditating, breathing correctly, trying to work on myself, while on occasion connecting to the ones…outside of everything.

Out of the runes, I went with three of them that I figured were a good mix and match, taking a stone and a sharper one and slowly carved out the symbols.

The first image shows a dark, blood-red (berry sauce) symbol painted onto a cold, textured stone surface.

A single, long vertical stroke forms the spine of the design, tapering slightly as it rises and ending in a sharp point.

From its lower half, two angular branches jut outward like crooked limbs, each bending sharply downward before tapering to fine tips.

The lines look as though they were drawn with something thick and wet—almost smeared rather than painted—giving them a raw, dripping quality.

(I may have cut some of wooloo's wool and stuck it on some stick)

The symbol sits in the center of a faint circular frame, the surrounding stone washed in bluish-gray hues that make the crimson mark stand out starkly.

It feels ritualistic and foreboding, as though it represents a warning, a ward, or a sigil tied to something ancient and harsh.

Before I felt the symbol, the Anti-Clockwise Metamorphesis, before the stone literally burned in…I don't know, but while it may have looked like fire it sure as hell didn't look like it with its silvery light before the rune rock vanished from my hand.

And then I felt it lightly imprint on my soul…but not embed, I felt like it was simply attached, as if I could easily rip it off and insert a different one at my whim.

And had room for two more.

Ding! You have painstakingly carved your first rune, well done, get a Silver Random Gacha Ticket!

[Persuasive]

|Uncommon Trait|

You are very persuasive, it is easier to make people see things from your perspective and get them to agree with you.

…Neat, actually first grade.

First rune increased my total stamina by 10%. I worked on my second and third one, sadly they didn't get rewarded.

Corruption, despite its ominous name…it had a incredible recovery ability, quite literally regeneration, if incredibly slow, and only enough so I am in a somewhat of a working state.

The second image depicts a tall, thin symbol arranged along a central vertical line.

At the top sits a shape reminiscent of an elongated eye or leaf, narrowing smoothly into the vertical stem.

Beneath it, the line is intersected by a series of small, symmetrical barbs or hooks, three on each side, creating a stacked, spine-like appearance.

The entire emblem is rendered in a deep black that looks carved or etched rather than painted, standing out against a muted teal-gray circle behind it.

The texture surrounding the symbol suggests ancient stone, giving it the feel of a rune linked to ritual, command, or layered meaning—something that might serve as a crest, a seal, or a mark of structured and disciplined power.

Like last time, it was covered in a silvery fire-like substance that didn't in any way hurt me other than a little of my eyes, and felt a sensation that was as I can only describe, like a hundred little ants crawled into my body and walked around in my veins.

The last one to raise my stamina recovery speed.

The third image features a dark, swirling emblem resembling a four-armed spiral or rotating tendrils.

Each arm curls outward from a central point, forming a continuous motion that almost looks alive, like twisting smoke or coiling vines.

The lines are slender, smooth, and deeply shadowed, giving the impression of ink soaked into old parchment or stone.

The background is a soft, mottled gray, textured like worn metal or weathered slate, subtly framing the symbol without overpowering it.

The spiraling shapes create a sense of movement and fluidity, and the overall design carries an eerie, almost hypnotic elegance—as though it marks something tied to cycles, storms, or shifting unseen forces.

I had a feeling the reason this skill was ranked on elite ranked was mostly because while the benefits were definitely good, it's the fact that it allows me to navigate safely on knowledge and entities that would shatter my mind.

Being able to instinctively know when I should back down, how the runes should be carved or painted, and otherwise how to avoid actually, accidently hearing an actual word from a Eldritch Being…

Because acquited resistance or not because I stayed at the void for a time, hearing something I shouldn't will probably most like warp me too much to be called human anymore.

"Alcremie!!" Said a certain cream pokemon on my lap, as patted my cheek with its white hand, trying to insert cream into my mouth.

Obliging her, I took a bite of her latest samples, as I utilized Nakri and Expert Cooking to get a opinion on it.

"…hm, it's good, but overly sweet I would say, you would need something added to it that gives it more flavor besides drowning in sugar,"

She looked at me with a serious expression and nodded—more adorable than anything— "Mie!" before she sat back down in the middle of my crossed legs, trying to come up with new flavors to her cream.

Like how the Gacha stated, she wasn't a fighter…more support than anything, she could tackle but it's as effective as one would imagine from such a tiny creature, being little a few centimeters off a foot tall.

She could raise defence, lower the enemy's, apparently get them confused by blowing a kiss, and buff her ally's physical and mystical attacks.

Like…she was a pokemon, so she obviously had the potentially to be a force to be reckoned…however she had zero will to fight, if I had pockets, she would more than likely get scared and hide in it while buffing us.

Oh, and she had a special ability, Sweet Veil, to just make herself and anyone within her general vicinity of her choosing just not fall asleep from an outside force.

Another note I have gathered from the Gacha…being a fairy type, she is quite literally immune to all dragon types…like don't get me wrong a claw attack or a fire breath aimed at her general direction would destroy her.

But let's say the dragon has dragon magic, or lets say…DxD Albion's Divine Dividing…she would completely ignore it, while also being able to hurt them to a greater extent than most others if she actually had the will to fight.

But she didn't, and even so…she was effectively level 1, so she was allocated to a support role and being my support chef that specialized in sweets.

Considering I have no way to make modern dairy ingredients…she was very appreciated…should I give her a personal name?…what would I even name her?.

(AN: I'm free for suggestions lol. If anyone cares enough to share one in comments here, otherwise, I may just go find one randomly I like XD)

I briefly considering making the tools to then further sheer off the swiftly growing wool on wooloo…but decided to leave that sometime later down the line.

I have not once felt cold nor hot, and I never at any point felt shame for bein bare…so at the moment it was pointless.

Though it has honestly been a while…I began to wonder, just how long did it take to create me? My initial assumption was a day or two, now perhaps I was thinking that was presumptive of me and it may actually take several weeks or more knowing just how complex a human being is.

…Maybe I can get into painting next, I found an decently sized cave with smooth enough walls to replace the lack of white canvases.

Or I could try my hand on sculpting-actually no, that was a tad bit more complex and mistakes are a lot more permanent than just me painting it over.

…what other tasks could I take? Singing? painstakingly creating an instrument is an option I guess, wood carving?

…I'll put a pin on that.

Picking up my pokemon, I placed her on my shoulder as I stood up and took a walk, just journeying where the wind may take me.

Walking through the first set of trees, I found a elk with particularly impressive antlers that was eating and minding its business.

After a minute or two of gentle petting, I moved on alongside the river, rabbits ran past my feet, a snake could be seen relaxing on a tree branch, a tuna fish jumped out of the water before diving back in.

It was definitely peaceful, rarely did I really need to do anything, it was strange that…while I couldn't technically speak to them word to word…I could intent to intent, thought to thought to a certain extent.

Later that day, hours later after walking and exploring…I stumbled upon a apple tree…there was something about it, but I could not tell why.

The tree looked the same as any other tree, if isolated from any other large flora, the number of red, juicy apples that hung from the branches that…seemed to call to me,…like a negative magnet getting more and more closer to the positive.

|Uncommon Skill|

You know how to move with grace and finesse. You are light on your feet and you can definitely tear up the dance floor. You rarely lose your balance and can perform parkour. You can also perform flips and manoeuvres with decent grace.

…Oh…that sounds ominous…also picking Internediate Savoir Faire, I already have more ways to fight.

I stood a good distance away from it, Alcremie just looked at me in confusion and back at the tree, clearly she wasn't sure what had me enraptured other than there was a apple tree.

I myself wasn't sure what do I even do with this tree, other than it may be best to avoid it at least.

Only to be then interrupted, as several pillars of light appeared down from the heavens, Sera and Michael appeared both with concerned frowns on their faces.

"Adam, it has been some time," Michael said with his hands behind his back, to which I blinked, processing the fact they were now here now.

"Sir Michael, Lady Sera…good evening, is something the matter?" I could see it on their faces, and I suspect it has something to do with the tree they were currently blocking the view of.

Lightly blushing gold from the formal title, she coughed for a bit, "ahem yes, Adam,…we arrived on short notice for two messages" so your my notification? Interesting

Michael continued from there, "Please stay away from the tree and more importantly…from the apples…Lord only knows we have tried to destroy it with any manner with could ever since it appeared yesterday just as we were finishing up with the First Woman," as the guy hatefully glared behind him at the tree that "innocently" sat there.

"Be it chopped, burned, sliced, plucked, crushed, drowned, nothing seems to work…if we tried to dig around it and take it out…it would find itself back here once we stopped looking…"

…Oh… schrodinger's tree?

"What makes it so dangerous? Or at the very least completely unwanted in the Garden…is there a reason I am only hearing this now instead of when it first appeared?" I tilted my head, afterall this was all incredibly sudden.

"We are aware, and we are truly sorry for that, the tree possess properties that could distablize the entirety of creation,…perhaps with no chance to fix it…we believed we could just remove it in a moment, but as we kept pouring our vastly limited thinned forces on this…it simply slipped our minds to inform you of this abomination," Sera apologized and clarified as she took a small bow to the head, clearly frowning in genuine guilt.

Michael while looked just as serious in the situation, seemed to be concerned with something else, "It does not help however that Father doesn't seem inclined to give me any sort of response to this, insistently giving me that wide, smug grin and that look in his eyes that tells me it's something that may or may not be inportant,".

Sera gave him a side eye, "Careful Brother Michael, one may see your words as blasphemy," I was about to say…she has a point.

Michael turned to her with a raised eyebrow, "We both know that he would simply find amusement at my words, then any sort of offense, at worst he would do something along the lines of changing me into a interesting shade of color he is interested in at the moment or force me to speak in rhymes," huh…excentric?…I suppose that would make sense if it isn't the All Knowing, All Powerful, All Present variant that looks like an old man and acts all wise and shit 24 hours straight.

Still I heard there was suppose to be the other news, "Don't come near the tree nor its fruit, understood…what was the other message?" I asked politely and respectfully.

Michael's smile morphed to a very pleased smirk while Sera looked a bit more…a subdued version of excitement, "That is indeed correct, Lord Adam of Eden, The First Man, your First Woman will be ready and presented by tomorrow!" As they both looked very pleased with themselves.

…While I tried to understand what the fuck am I supposed to feel about all this…especially at my…apparent wife.
