Konohagakure No Sato :
Forest OF Death ( Central Tower ) :
The Chunin Exam preliminaries were in full swing. After that break, the crowd was buzzing and ready for the next match, and this matchup definitely brought the energy right back into the arena.
High above the fighting floor, spectators leaned over the railings. The murmur of dozens of voices settled into a restless hush as the next pair of fighters stepped into the spotlight.
" whom do you think will win "
" ...mostly Konoha "
" yeah , in the end , Sound is just a minor village "
" Konoha is very strong this year "
On one side stood Kiba Inuzuka, practically vibrating with restless energy and feral confidence. He already had his signature sharp grin locked in place, with Akamaru perched on his head like a tiny white blur of pure cuteness overload.
( .....finally My turn )
Naruto watched Kiba , his thoughts moving , but in the end , Naruto didn't share any intel about sound Nin to him , not because KIba was a boy or someother stupid reason but
( Chunin exam is for Growth .......and kIba won't appreciate it either )
On the other side was Dosu Kinuta of the Sound Village. He was pale, calm, and almost eerily still. His single visible eye was half-lidded, making it look like this was less of a life-or-death contest and more of a math problem he was solving in his head.
( ........Inuzuka ....their hearing should be sharp )
The referee's voice rang out, bouncing off the stone walls. This time, Hayate Gekkō didn't even cough. He just spat out the declaration in one go:
"3... 2... 1... Begin...!"
Kiba didn't waste a single moment .
He launched forward with a savage burst of speed, his sandals scraping against the stone. Keeping his shoulders low, his fists were already coiling for the first strike.
Akamaru sprang from his head and cut outward in a fast arc, a tiny white streak aiming straight for Dosu's flank. It was a classic Inuzuka opening—direct, overwhelming pressure, splitting one body into two separate threats, with speed and instinct working as a single mind.
(One crashing in straight and one on the flank, colliding at the exact same instant without any delay in the attacks.....) Naruto thought, his eyes narrowing as he watched Kiba and Akamaru approach the Sound ninja.
Dosu didn't panic. He lifted his gauntleted arm to respond, meeting Kiba's punch with one hand while slamming the other down toward the floor in Akamaru's path.
A sharp, violent vibration snapped through the air.
Kiba's first punch was knocked completely offline before it could land. The force skimmed past Dosu's shoulder and slammed violently into the stone floor behind him, sending a crack spider-webbing through the bricks and kicking a burst of dust into the air.
The crowd stirred at once. Akamaru didn't fare any better; the pup didn't just face the physical gauntlet, but was met with a vibrating floor that killed his forward momentum, easily redirecting and parrying the dog's attack.
"Kiba's going in hard!"
"Dosu stopped it without even moving his feet!"
Kiba's teeth bared in a snarl. He slid into a second attack, then a third, hammering in with brutal, close-range swipes and kicks. Dosu answered every single one with short, clean pulses from his sound gauntlet. Each pulse disrupted the rhythm of Kiba's charge just enough to make the next strike miss by a hair.
It wasn't flashy, but it was terrifyingly effective.
But Dosu's mind was somewhere else entirely.
(He's moving too much. I can't send enough vibrations into his body to disturb his rhythm and balance to take him out like that green capsicum.)
Dosu knew his advantages and disadvantages. The last time he fought Rock Lee and took him down quickly, it was because that green weirdo was parrying and keeping constant physical contact with his gauntlet to protect that pink nuisance, Sakura.
But this opponent was moving too fast. There wasn't enough contact time, nor enough time to accumulate the frequency.
Plus, Kiba wasn't being arrogant and sticking strictly to textbook taijutsu; the Inuzuka was using his whole body as a weapon and targeting his whole body not just focusing on the gauntlets like Lee did. He wasn't letting the vibrations settle inside his body either .
(.....And that pup too. Annoying.)
Akamaru darted behind Dosu, trying to catch him from his blind side, but Dosu's gaze never fully left Kiba. He didn't even need to see the pup in detail. He could feel the changes in the air, the micro-shifts in movement, and the pressure of every footfall and breath.
( I can hear it )
Dosu turned at the exact moment Akamaru lunged, and another concentrated vibration snapped out, forcing the little dog to veer away in a startled, tumbling roll.
(My hearing is far more accurate than even a dog's... thanks to Lord Orochimaru.)
But seeing Dosu react like that made Kiba's eyes change. He clicked his tongue. "Tch. So you can sense movement through the air... like a sensor? Or is it because of the vibrations ffrom sound ?"
Dosu's single eye twitched at the question. His voice was utterly flat. "You're loud."
Kiba's eyes narrowed. "Hehe, fine then. Let's go, Akamaru! "
" Woof!"
He flashed a wild grin and answered with a sharp bark—not to Dosu, but to Akamaru. The pup bounded around him in a spiral, their footwork instantly syncing up in the way only the Inuzuka clan could manage.
Then Kiba darted left, then right, then back again, weaving in irregular rhythms instead of the simple straight rush he had started with. It was a subtle shift, but a clever one. If Dosu could predict motion through vibration, then Kiba would stop giving him clean patterns to read.
(Hehe, now try to guess which vibration or sound belongs to which one of us, Sound man!)
" LOUDER ..!! AKAMARU ...!! LOUDER "
" WOOF "
Just like a zig-zag or a spiral helix of DNA, both Kiba and Akamaru moved. Most importantly, they moved in close, and this time they didn't try to muffle the sound of their feet at all. The whole arena could feel the heavy thudding of their movements. It was much louder, creating a chaotic mess of sound.
Dosu's single eye twitched again.
( ...Annoying....)
The next exchange came even faster.
Kiba feinted a straight charge and suddenly dropped low, skidding across the floor as Akamaru leaped high into the air. Dosu pivoted, but Kiba's hand was already out, hurling a handful of gravel and broken chips of stone into the air to blind him.
( Take that single eye bastard ..!!)
Dosu ducked down to dodge Akamaru's aerial attack. As for Kiba's gravel, Dosu simply answered by sending a pulse through the air and ground. The loose debris shivered, then scattered outward in a widening spray that turned Kiba's own tactic right back against him.
A few pieces pinged painfully off Kiba's cheek. Another struck the wall. Dosu hadn't even advanced a single step.
Kiba sprang back up with a growl, and then he exploded forward again, his speed climbing even higher. The Inuzuka style was built on pure aggression—on overwhelming the opponent before they could even think.
For a moment, that pressure nearly worked.
But suddenly Dosu's gauntlet flashed as Kiba entered striking range, the air around them snapping with raw vibration and counterforce. As Dosu's gauntlet touched Kiba's shoulder, Kiba only managed to dodge because of Akamaru's pincer attack, making Dosu flinch and move before the attack could truly land squarely.
Despite that, Kiba's shoulder jolted violently. His arm went numb for a fraction of a second. Panicking, Kiba decided to disengage and try to create some distance, but as he backed up, he suddenly stumbled.
(What the hell?!) Kiba thought, his eyes widening.
The crowd gasped, and Dosu didn't miss the opening. The Inuzuka didn't have enough time to make distance and had already lost his footing. Seeing this, Dosu pressed forward.
(Good. Even if it's not direct, the vibrations are working and accumulating over time.)
Just as Dosu moved forward and used his gauntlet to cover Kiba's head for a finishing blow, he suddenly felt vibrations near his leg. Moving his foot at the very last second, Dosu still felt a sharp pain shoot through his calf.
"Eh?"
Looking down, he saw the pup on the ground, biting his leg with pure stubborness. Seeing this, Dosu's hand moved as he punched down at Akamaru.
But the dog was quick; Akamaru had already disengaged the moment he saw Dosu moving away from Kiba. The pup let go of the bite and tried to jump back in the direction of Kiba, but.
Smack!
Dosu's fist still connected with Akamaru's side. The pup flew backward, only to be caught in Kiba's arms as they both skidded back awkwardly. They used the force of the throw to make distance from Dosu, but Akamaru had clearly taken damage. Kiba looked down and noticed his partner's whimpering state.
Kiba's mind worked furiously as he tried to think , something he was not good at
(...Shit. That gauntlet. Not only is it doing vibration damage, but it's making me dizzy in the middle of the fight..... I need to avoid direct contact with those hands at all costs.)
Seeing Dosu closing in again, Kiba spat blood to the side and moved with Akamaru. No words or tactics were shared, but both man and beast understood each other perfectly.
Akamaru barked and dropped low, racing along the floor with uncanny quickness. Kiba used the pup's movement to hide his own and whipped around Dosu's side in a sudden zig-zag, trying to break the Sound ninja's sense of rhythm entirely. It was the sort of movement that would force most opponents to just guess.
Seeing Kiba getting closer using the exact same tactic again, Dosu's eyes twitched in anger as he moved.
(.....The same tactic won't work again, you little shit..... I am not some pink trash )
Dosu stamped one foot and slammed his hands onto the arena floor, driving a massive vibration straight through the stone.
(You want to use speed? But for that, you need solid footing... Especially near me.)
The arena floor literally shook. Dosu's timing was near perfect; the effect took place just as Kiba entered his strike zone.
Akamaru stumbled, his little paws faltering. Kiba's next step landed on a section of the floor that shivered violently under him. His balance slipped just enough for Dosu to strike. The gauntlet drove hard into Kiba's ribs with a shockwave that rattled through his entire body, forcing him back a full pace.
The crowd erupted.
"That Sound guy is something else..!"
"He already made a counter for the previous tactic!"
"That Inuzuka is in big trouble."
".....He's using vibrations on the arena itself!"
"No good footing near that Sound Genin now."
" But wouldn't he also has trouble too "
" Who Knows ? "
After landing that clean punch, Dosu followed up with another aimed straight at the Inuzuka's face. Just as he was about to use one more, Akamaru intervened again, forcing Dosu to disengage, especially when he saw that the pup was aiming at his feet again.
(Annoying..... they want to make me slow so they can use their speed advantage?) Dosu thought.
Kiba wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and spat to the side, his eyes burning with competitive fury.
"Fine , it's all out then "
Kiba whistled once.
Akamaru circled wide, then dashed into a spray of dust kicked up by Kiba's feet. The white blur disappeared into the haze. Kiba immediately followed it by grabbing a handful of smoke pellets from his pouch and slamming them into the ground.
Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!
A thick cloud burst upward, swallowing both fighters in a grey curtain. For a second, the center of the arena vanished. Spectators strained to see through the smoke. The only things left visible were shifting shadows and the occasional flash of movement.
Then, Dosu's voice cut through the haze with chilling calm.
"Trying to limit my vision? And then using noise to use that tactic again?.......but My vibrations can clear weightless smoke easily."
A sharp, piercing vibration ripped through the smoke. The cloud broke apart in rippling waves, cleared away entirely by the force of the sound itself. The audience saw Kiba emerge from the thinning haze already mid-charge, with Akamaru hidden somewhere behind him. Kiba had been trying to use the smoke as cover to try the same tactic, but Dosu had erased it in an instant.
Kiba's eyes widened just slightly. Then he grinned again, wider this time, looking more feral than confident. "Heh, so you can clear smoke too?"
Determined to keep the pressure on, Kiba reached into his pouch and pulled out a volley of shuriken, attaching a sizzling Explosion Tag to one of them. He hurled them at Dosu with a ferocious battle cry!
Dosu didn't even move his feet. He simply raised his gauntlet and let out a focused, high-frequency blast of sound. The vibrations struck the flying weapons mid-air.
The explosion tag detonated harmlessly several feet away from Dosu, and the shurikens were scattered across the floor. It looked flashy and cool, but it had zero effect on Dosu and didn't slow him down for a single second.
Kiba snarled and lunged in anyway. Dosu raised his arm, and Kiba's fist stopped short again, the blow diverted by another humming counterstrike. But this time, Kiba had timed his approach differently.
He did not pull away instantly. Instead, he grabbed Dosu's arm with one hand and twisted, trying to redirect the blast into the wall and break Dosu's hand or the gauntlet itself.
(Ha... in the end, he's depending on that tool. Break it, and the advantage is mine.)
While some of the vibration was absorbed by Kiba's body, making him wince, the main focus was successfully redirected. The vibration screamed through the stone, and a section of the wall behind Dosu cracked with a rough burst of fragments. For the first time, Dosu's stance shifted. Not much, but just enough.
(.....Since when did an Inuzuka try to use their head? Annoying me again and again.)
Kiba saw the distraction and pounced. He tore in with clawing strikes, one after another, trying to force Dosu into hand-to-hand combat where the distance between the gauntlet and the target would shrink.
He mostly targeted Dosu's torso, head, and legs. Unless it was absolutely necessary, Kiba didn't plan to touch the gauntlets directly, and if he had no choice, he never fully engaged with the gauntlet's main force, using flanks instead.
Akamaru flashed in from the side, then disappeared beneath Dosu's arm, then above him, and then behind him again. The two of them were building a cage of motion around the Sound ninja. Dosu finally took a step back. That was all Kiba needed to think he had the momentum.
Because now Kiba already forced Dosu near the wall and in a position were e wanted
(Finally...!!) Kiba thought.
Seeing the trap set, he called out, "Gatsūga!"
( Fang Over Fang )
Kiba and Akamaru spun together in a twin drilling rush—a white-and-brown blur of savage rotation tearing straight toward Dosu's centerline. The move was a hurricane of claws, teeth, speed, and momentum. The crowd leaned in as one, sensing the massive collision before it even happened.
Dosu's eye sharpened as he realized that his positioning and balance left no room for him to dodge here.
(Smelly bastard.)
Dosu stood his ground and his gauntlet flared. A concentrated vibration pulsed outward and met the spinning attack head-on. The clash boomed through the hall, and dust exploded from the floor. The spinning force of Kiba and Akamaru held for a breath, then shuddered as if the rotation itself had been struck from within.
Kiba's teeth clenched. He forced the spin harder. Dosu did not flinch. Instead, he changed the frequency.
The shift was subtle but devastating. The vibration slid straight into Kiba's inner ear and through the floor beneath his feet. His balance faltered instantly. The world seemed to tilt sideways. His spin broke apart just enough for Dosu to drive a follow-up pulse directly into Kiba's chest.
*Smack*
Kiba was flung back, skidding hard across the stone. The audience reacted in a roar. Even Akamaru yelped as he tumbled free and rolled to a stop near Kiba's side. For a moment, the Inuzuka pair were separated, panting, their eyes locked on their opponent.
Kiba shook his head hard, trying to clear the dizzying sensation. He had taken hits before, but this was different. Dosu's attacks did not merely strike the body; they invaded it. They rattled his senses and his whole body, not just causing pain or damage, but completely unsteadying the senses that Kiba depended on most.
Desperate to get his edge back, Kiba reached into his pouch and pulled out two Soldier Pills. He popped one into his own mouth and tossed the other to Akamaru, who swallowed it instantly. A surge of physical energy and stamina rushed through them both, and Akamaru's fur even took on a reddish tint.
But it didn't help at all.
Naruto, watching from the balcony, sighed. A massive physical energy boost was completely useless when your inner ear was scrambled and the whole world was spinning. Kiba still couldn't find his center. Still, stubborn as always, he surged back up on all fours anyway.
( at Least Inuzuka have good balance and senses ...anyone would have already been down otherwise )
KIba gritted his teeth and looked at Dosu , whowas now already moving towards him
(Heh, I didn't come here to fold, you sound bastard..... if I'm not steady on two feet, then I'll just use four! Don't underestimate an Inuzuka's balance!)
" FOUR LEGS TECHNIQUE "
Kiba charged again on all fours, trying to force his senses to listen to him. This time, the attack angle changed. He forced Dosu toward the wall, using the broken stones and scattered debris to narrow the field.
Akamaru darted low, snapping at the Sound ninja's heel, while Kiba attacked from above with a jumping slash aimed to trap Dosu against the stone.
Dosu saw it coming. He struck the Stone debris near him with a heavy, resonant pulse.
( I can also use environment ....Moron )
The crack that was already in te debris gave way, and several loose chunks of stone broke free. Kiba sprang aside, but the fragments did not fall harmlessly. Dosu timed another pulse through the collapsing debris with precision, making the stones burst outward like a blast of shrapnel.
Boom.
Kiba crossed his arms and took the impact, sliding backward under the force. One stone cut across his shoulder, and another struck his leg. They weren't deep injuries, but they were enough to remind him how dangerous a Sound ninja could be when using the battlefield itself as a weapon.
(F*ck! F*ck! F*ck! My ears are ringing, and now I can't even hear clearly!)*
From the crowd, Naruto shouted something incoherent and loud. Someone else told him to sit down and shut up. The tension in the room had become almost physical.
Kiba snarled. He could feel the fight slipping away if he kept trying the same approach. So, he changed it up. (....Need to find another way.)
Kiba stopped rushing for a heartbeat. Dosu observed him, his expression completely unreadable.
Kiba lowered his stance and began moving in strange, unpredictable steps—small darts, sudden freezes, and erratic shifts in pace that broke all clean rhythm. He was no longer charging like a beast in a straight line; he was hunting like one. Akamaru mirrored the change perfectly, circling in tighter arcs, then vanishing behind Kiba's legs, then reappearing at the edge of the dust.
(...Hmm, wait. Isn't he using sound or vibration for sensing? Then this should work, right?)
Dosu's eye narrowed slightly. He could still sense the movement, but the pattern was harder to pin down now. (The same tactic but through a different process... annoying.)
Suddenly, Kiba opened his mouth and let out a sharp bark. Akamaru barked too, the sounds overlapping in a startling burst. For a moment, it was hard to tell where one ended and the other began. The crowd flinched at the sheer volume of the noise.
"Urgh."
Dosu reacted instantly, sending a wave of sound that should have rebounded the echo into confusion. But Kiba hadn't barked just to make noise. He had used the bark as a decoy—a distraction and a false signal. While Dosu answered the sound, Akamaru darted in from the side, driving low toward Dosu's ankles.
Dosu leapt into the air.
But Kiba was already waiting there! He burst up directly under the Sound ninja's landing path. Claws flashing, teeth bared, he executed a brutal rising strike aimed to catch Dosu in that brief moment of airtime. It was the closest Kiba had come to landing a clean hit the entire fight.
*whack*
Dosu twisted in mid-air and took the blow on his gauntlet instead of his body. The impact still forced him down; the sheer weight behind the Inuzuka's force was enough to send Dosu crashing down to the ground before he had any time to regain his focus.
BOOM!
The ground shattered as Dosu slammed down hard on his back , raising dust and cloud on the floor .
Seeing this, Kiba also fell down near the dust cloud and grinned through the physical effort. "Got you."
Soon though, Dosu's reply came. The Sound ninja heard the cocky Inuzuka's voice, and his answer was immediate and cold.
"No."
Dosu sent a tight, concentrated vibration straight into the floor beneath Kiba. The stone cracked under Kiba's feet. It wasn't enough to break open entirely, but it was enough to throw off his footing for the exact instant Dosu needed.
Another pulse followed, sharper and more focused, and Kiba's vision blurred again. This time it was worse. The sound seemed to resonate from inside his own bones.
(Stupid Inuzuka. It's all about frequency about sound ... You thought you weren't getting affected because of your tactics, but it was just a hidden trap for the grand finale.)
Kiba stumbled, this time his senses going absolutely haywire, far worse than before.
Akamaru barked in alarm and leaped toward Dosu, trying to save the exchange. But Dosu turned, caught the pup's movement, and flicked a controlled, pulsed punch that knocked Akamaru away .
Boom.
(Get lost, dog.... I am a cat person and I like puss*y.) Dosu thought.
The pup rolled and scrambled up, shaken and hurt, and now quite far away from his partner.
Kiba forced himself upright. He was breathing heavily now, his shoulders tensed. The arena had become a minefield of broken stone, smoke residue, cracks, and scattered debris. Every trick he had used had been answered. Every angle he had tried had been read, redirected, or countered
And Dosu still stood there calm, damaged but with nothing concrete holding him back.
(DAmN IT , Damn iT..!! ......Like hell I'm giving up now!) Kiba thought.
"Four Legs Technique!"
Kiba charged one final time—not because it was the smartest choice, but because in that moment, it was the only one his pride would allow. Even if he was completely out of balance and couldn't gain enough speed, he and Akamaru moved together, faster than before.
Claws, fangs, and spinning force converged in one last desperate pressure wave.
"Fang Over Fang (Gatsūga)!" times two!
Kiba drove for Dosu's chest while Akamaru aimed for the lower body, hoping to split his defense for a single opening. Dosu planted his feet firmly on the cracked stone. His gauntlet hummed as both of his hands moved to meet both man and beast together.
This time, the Sound Genin changed the frequency to the exact same one he used to blast open tree trunks—his strongest one, the one that also drained the massive majority of his chakra.
Dosu looked at his opponenent stupidity
( coming head-on .......It's over.)
Then came the strongest vibration of the entire match, focusing directly on both the pup and Kiba. It struck Kiba's body from multiple points at once—through the air, through the floor, and through the subtle harmonics in the stone beneath him.
His attack collapsed mid-motion. His legs buckled. His senses went completely wild as pain exploded through him. For an instant, the arena turned entirely sideways, and he felt as if he might fall forever.
"AARRHHHHH!" Kiba screamed as he flew away
(It hurts... damn it!)
Akamaru was also sent flying backwards.
Dosu stepped forward and delivered the finishing hit—a clean, controlled strike that sent Kiba sliding back across the floor and out of the attack line, all the energy knocked completely out of his limbs.
Kiba's hands dug into the stone as he tried to stop himself, but the damage had already been done. The sound pulsed through him one last time, and his body simply refused to rise.
A heavy silence fell over the arena. Then, the referee's voice broke it.
"Winner: Dosu Kinuta from the Sound Village"
For a moment, nobody moved. Kiba lay on the floor breathing hard, his face tight with frustration. Akamaru hurried to his side immediately, whining and nudging him. The pup's small, durable beast body made the damage manageable, but he was still visibly limping.
Kiba reached down and scratched the pup behind the ears, though his jaw was still clenched tight.
( Lost .......F*Cking Shit )
Dosu stood right where he was, his expression unchanged. The faintest rise and fall of his breathing was the only sign that he had even fought at all. He had not looked flashy.
THe Sound Nin had not shouted. He had simply dismantled every single layer of Kiba's offense piece by piece—the speed, the smoke, the feints, the debris, the twin-fang rush, the irregular footwork, the bark decoys, the wall angles, the close-range claws, the attempts to force hand-to-hand combat, the aerial approach, the terrain traps, the pressure from Akamaru..all of it.
( Look at me ORochimaru-Sama ......I am the only one reliable around you )
Naruto watched the match's conclusion and thought .
( Kiba fought like a wild animal trying every instinct he had with tactics and Dosu fought like a shinobi ......the experience and the skillset showing dominance )
As the medics and attendants prepared to enter, the crowd's noise rose again in excited waves. Some were stunned by how close Kiba had come.
Some were already arguing about whether his last charge might have worked if he had attacked from a different angle. A few were simply impressed that he had kept coming even after the damage had started to stack.
Dosu turned slightly as if to leave, then glanced back once at Kiba.
(...Konoha.)
There was no mockery in the look. Only the silent acknowledgment of a battle won honestly.
Kiba tried pushed himself up with effort, still glaring, still stubborn, still very much Kiba. Even in defeat, he looked like someone who would remember every second of the fight and return stronger because of it.
Akamaru barked softly at his side. Kiba gave a short breath that was almost a laugh. "Yeah. I know."
Soon, the medics came and hauled both of them off to the infirmary. And The crowd watched as the screen started showing Names again for the next match .

Author's notes :
Only 2 fights left hmm
Well I always said , That I don't have much confidence in my fight scenes , so don't raise your hopes much for the upcoming fights .
At first I just wanted to declare the winner in this fight and then write Gaara and choji's fight
but then I changed my mind .
Hope it was ok . The fight also took Kiba's menytality in question too as you don;t see many previous but common tactics .
