Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – Time Skip

2 years later

On the platform near the top of the royal castle, a ray of light could be seen shining on from the uppermost level. A cylindrical beam made of blue light stood upright, piercing through the sky.

On this platform, two individuals were walking toward the ray of light.

These two individuals consisted of a male and a female. The male wore jeans paired with a T-shirt, while the female wore a school uniform. These two were Nasrul Amal and Chiba Erika. Right now, both of them were just walking leisurely toward that ray of light.

"Erika, did you bring everything that you brought to this world when we were summoned here?"

As we approached the portal that would bring us back to our world for the last time, I made sure to confirm things with Erika. I didn't want her to forget anything important—especially our identification. If we lost our identification cards, it would be hard for us to prove who we were. Losing them might even get us into trouble, considering how long it would take for anyone to confirm our identities.

"Nah, no. I already brought everything that I need to have in my pocket. It's not like there were a lot of things we could bring here in the first place. We were summoned suddenly without any warning. So, it's no different than before."

"Heh… is that so? Then there's no problem. I don't want us getting into trouble when we go back. That is, if we're even going to be sent back in the first place."

"What do you mean with that look of yours? Is there something you want to say to me? Out with it."

"Nothing…"

With the questioning gaze I gave her, Erika answered seriously at first, but then, when she saw my expression shift into suspicion—as if she had forgotten something—she scowled. I replied with a wide smile. Seeing that expression, the only thing she could think was that she had been played again.

Turning my gaze to the scenery behind us, opposite the portal that would supposedly take us back to Earth, I smiled with a touch of melancholy as I looked at the setting sun.

It looked like this would be the last time I would see this scenery. The clean air of this world, the beauty untouched by pollution—it was something Earth no longer had. This beautiful view… this would be the last time I saw it. The moment I stepped into that portal, I would part with it forever.

If possible, I wanted to stay here and live here for the rest of my life. But we couldn't remain in this world. The one who sent us here had given us a message through a game-like window, telling us we must go through the portal or be eliminated as our mission already done.

"Seeing this scene… it looks like it's going to be our most beautiful memory from this world."

"Well, this is something our world doesn't have. With all the pollution back home, there's nothing we can do. Only a few places on Earth could ever show this kind of view. It's not like we could go to them with our lifestyle. Hihihi."

Hearing my words, Erika couldn't help but retort. She also knew she wouldn't be able to see this kind of scenery again. Even if there were places like this on Earth, none of them could compare to a world untouched by pollution.

Slowly, I turned my gaze toward Erika, who was enjoying the scenery with a warm smile. Seeing that expression always reminded me that she really was beautiful, despite her tomboyish personality. Well… that part could remain unsaid.

Right now, my gaze was focused on Erika, and after a moment, she felt it. Turning her eyes in my direction, she saw me staring at her.

"Hmn… what are you looking at? Is there something on my face?"

Seeing that I continued to stare at her, Erika touched her face with her hand, checking if something was wrong before questioning me directly.

"There's nothing on your face. It's just that… despite your tomboyish personality, in actuality, Erika, you really are beautiful."

"What with that line!? I'm always a beauty—it's just your eyes that were blind. Hmph… So even you know a pick-up line or two, huh?"

Hearing my words, Erika's face flushed red before she turned to the side and crossed her arms. Then she criticized me for the sudden compliment. When I heard that, I burst out laughing.

"Hahaha, well, it looks like sometimes you can really act like a girl."

"Of course I can! I am a girl, biologically!"

When Erika heard me criticize her again, she felt like fumes were coming out of her ears. Her head felt like it was smoking, filled with anger and embarrassment.

"Well, enough of that joke. It really makes one wonder, doesn't it? Our bodies, I mean. Even though time passed, our ages didn't increase, in other words we do no age from the moment we were summoned. But our strength increased. Through training and battle, we kept getting stronger and stronger. Yet our physical bodies never changed."

"You think too much into it. It might be a system or some kind of magic imbued into us when we were summoned to this world. It might work like programming—keeping our bodies the same while creating another form in a different dimension and linking it to us. No matter how much we think about it, we won't find the answer."

"Hihihi, even though you say you don't mind it… who was the one that took the most advantage of this system? Stuffing himself with as much food as possible."

Bam!!!

"Argh!!!"

"Not your problem."

When I hinted at something, Erika delivered an uppercut to my stomach. The impact made me cry out in pain as I was launched into the air before crashing back down.

"Urgh… that's why you're called a tomboy, acting like a boy. Hah… what a waste."

"Do you want to eat another one!? It's not your problem. Buzz off."

"Nono… hahaha. Well, back to the subject—did you leave anything to your disciple, Erika?"

"Of course. I left him something from our world. I gave him something that wouldn't hinder me when we go back. Since anything we leave behind will remain here, I chose to leave the coins from my country. If you're asking me, that must mean you also left something, right? So what did you give them?"

"The thing I gave my disciple? Hmn… I gave him the headphones I brought with me and… Hehehe… a descendant, if you want to call it that."

At the end of my words, I closed my eyes, remembering something with a smug expression. Upon seeing this behavior, Erika vanished. The spot she stood on was suddenly empty.

Then—

Pam!!!

Pam!!!

Bam!!!

Bang!!!

Boom!!!

"Hentai!! I don't believe you! Why did you do that!? You already have me and you went for another woman!?"

"Urghh… what can I say? I'm a guy, after all…"

"BAKAAAA!!!"

Bam!!!

Moving at high speed, Erika appeared instantly in front of me and delivered a slap, followed by a punch to the stomach, and then a kick to the chin, sending me flying upward before crashing headfirst onto the ground.

Even though the intensity of the hits should have killed someone, I stood back up with only minor pain. As I continued talking, Erika dashed in front of me again and delivered a straight punch to my face, sending me flying past the portal.

After releasing her anger, Erika walked toward the portal while still fuming with fresh fury.

I lay sprawled on the ground after being hit, and seeing that Erika had already entered the portal, I slowly got up and dusted myself off.

"Hah… Erika really can't take a joke. Although… it wasn't a joke. Seeing her like that makes me glad I didn't tell her. I also left a gift for her disciple. I even took a step that my disciple doesn't know about. That disciple of Erika must be feeling really happy right now."

Taking one last look at the town covered in the golden light of sunset, I walked toward the portal and stepped into it, heading to wherever I would be sent.

Unknown to me, before Erika entered the portal, she gave one last glance in my direction. And at the moment her foot touched the portal, a question popped into her mind:

The panties she wore when she came here were gone, and she had never been able to find them. She only had the spare pair she coincidentally brought on that day.

After both of us entered the portal, it shrank rapidly and vanished along with the platform made of light. Everything that happened there disappeared, like it just an illusion.

But the people of this world would remember it as the farewell of the two true heroes who ended the war.
