Because she knew everything had happened too quickly; less than two minutes had passed since this monster erupted and started its massacre, so no one could arrive as support in such a short time.
And worse was yet to come.
Because when Johnny saw the opponent's head turn, she found that its eerie green eyes were looking at her, and a mocking smile was clearly visible at the corner of its mouth.
Johnny's heart tightened.
But it was too late.
Her body suddenly flew into the air, a tentacle breaking through the floor from the ground, trapping her unguarded ankle and hanging her upside down.
She instinctively tried to shoot, but as if knowing her thoughts, a tentacle preemptively knocked her pistol away.
These tentacles had burst from the ground, catching Johnny completely off guard.
Johnny's heart sank; she finally realized something was wrong.
The Tentacle Monstrous Figure hadn't moved since earlier; it turns out it wasn't that it couldn't move while controlling its tentacles, but that the two tentacles extending from its ankles had deeply burrowed underground, specifically to ambush her.
Several more tentacles stretched out, tightly binding Johnny's limbs, making her completely unable to move.
Although as a mechanical body she didn't experience the pain of suffocation, she still felt the tentacles wrapped around her limbs tightening, and alarms from various parts of her Chassis appeared on her display panel.
As the tentacles tightened, Johnny's limb joints sparked with electricity amidst a grating metal twisting sound.
In just a few more breaths, this body would be finished.
Damn it.
Johnny cursed in agony amidst the torment of uncontrollable currents within her body.
She hadn't expected to die at the hands of an unknown monster so soon after being resurrected.
It was truly unwilling.
But even so, Johnny refused to give up.
As the Tentacle Monstrous Figure's green eyes clearly showed curiosity about why this human in front of it was different from the others, Johnny gritted her teeth and made a decision.
Damn it, you want my life, huh?
Then let's die together!
Johnny, the Bomb Man, laughed, already preparing to overload her system and self-destruct, taking this monster that shouldn't exist in this world with her.
She could still set off fireworks before she died.
That would be enough.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Several consecutive gunshots rang out, and several tentacles snapped in response.
With a clang, Johnny, along with the broken, lifeless tentacles, fell to the ground.
Johnny struggled to look over and spotted a purple phantom.
Holding an assault rifle, a blue-purple humanoid armor, whose female silhouette could barely be made out, emerged from the darkness in a firing stance, advancing while continuously firing high-powered rifle rounds.
Each bullet exploded a large hole in the Tentacle Monstrous Figure's body, and the powerful force compelled it to retreat repeatedly.
The tentacles that had been so formidable earlier now became mere targets in front of this purple armor.
Often, just as the muscles at the base of a tentacle began to twitch, a rifle round would blast that tentacle into green gore.
"V, kill it!"
A furious female voice came from behind the purple armor.
Then, several dull, high-powered revolver shots rang out, and the monster's head exploded in response.
And as the flesh wriggled, trying to regenerate its head, the revolver kept firing, shattering the nascent head again and again.
Berry walked to Johnny's side while shooting, pulling Johnny, who was trapped in the pile of broken tentacles, out.
"Heavy weapons should be able to deal with this son of a bitch, whether it's missiles or whatever, bring out whatever you have!"
As soon as she was freed from the tentacles, Johnny shouted loudly.
In her opinion, this was much more useful than any polite words of thanks.
"Don't worry, I won't let this guy live!"
Berry gritted her teeth, her eyes practically overflowing with hatred.
She was truly enraged.
When the alarm sounded in the basement, she immediately helped V don the modified exoskeleton armor and came out; the entire process took less than a minute, yet in that short time, a large number of her people had already been killed or injured.
How could she not hate?
No matter what this monster in front of her was, she swore she would utterly kill it.
