Chapter 240 - Ch 240: Mordan can't do the same

‎Hearing Sphera's words, Mordan's face turned ugly.

Why did the person on the phone mean by this?

Did she want the ministers and military leaders standing behind him to fight against him?

Did she want them to stop him from becoming the absolute leader?

Just as he was about to curse Sphera in his mind, she spoke again, her voice calm and clear.

"Or, sir, you can create a council. This council can have 13 members, who will have the power to expel you through a voting system. And don't worry—there will be no cheating or tricks. Those members will not be able to lie or do anything dishonest. If they try, they will be automatically expelled by your special AI."

Hearing this, the atmosphere inside the room suddenly changed.

All the ministers and military leaders glanced at Mordan. Their eyes were full of meaning—like they were silently urging him to choose the second option.

Mordan understood.

He sighed deeply and said,

"Yeah, okay. Create a council. And its members can be anyone, right? Because no one will be able to lie, right?"

"Yes, sir. You can select the members yourself, or you can give this task to your special AI. It will help you choose them. You can even hide their identities if you want."

Mordan nodded slowly.

"Okay, I understand."

He ended the call.

Then he began making arrangements.

He turned to Umang.

"Umang, go and tell every school, university, lab, and government institution to get ready. Prepare for the upcoming future. But this is only for government-owned places. You don't have to contact private ones. And if private groups ask to join, tell them they must pay taxes—even inside the game world."

Private and small organizations simply couldn't afford the special sect status.

But Mordan got an idea: invite them anyway—but only if they pay.

This way, he could recover his losses in the long run.

Umang followed the order and left the room.

Just then, a minister stepped forward.

"Sir, that was a good decision. Just imagine—what if a tyrant ruler becomes the leader of the sect in the future, and nobody can do anything to stop him? Our nation would suffer heavy losses. It's your powerful insight that you created the council."

Others came forward too, praising him.

"Very wise, sir."

"You always think ahead for the country."

"Excellent choice."

Mordan gave a small nod, accepting the flattery with a calm smile.

Inside, though, he was sighing deeply.

If I hadn't chosen the council… they would likely be cursing me right now instead of praising me.

The example the minister had given was nonsense.

In this cultivation era, where lifespans could be extended, and he—as a cultivator—would definitely live for many years, who exactly was the "tyrant ruler" the minister was talking about?

None other than him.

The minister was talking about Mordan himself—without saying the name.

They were afraid of him gaining too much power.

In real life, they could still remove him from his position if needed.

But if he had chosen the first option—absolute rule in the Concord—they would never be able to touch him inside the game world.

With his long lifespan, he would remain the leader of India Concord for centuries, maybe millions of years.

And they didn't want that.

They wanted the Concord to work like the real world—where they always had a chance to take him down.

Humph. I don't know what to say. Even after I've given them so much… they still fear me just because I might have more power? Can't they just trust me?

He didn't answer his own question.

Because he already knew the truth inside his heart.

Even he feared Sir Heart.

Sir Heart had given him so much—cultivation, pills, knowledge, power—but Mordan still felt uneasy because Sir Heart was stronger.

Uncontrollably strong.

And he couldn't blame the others.

Humans were like that.

If someone became too powerful and uncontrollable, people would do anything to block it—even allies.

But he couldn't do the same to Sir Heart.

Sir Heart's power was different—real, absolute, unpredictable.

Mordan only had positional power.

Sir Heart had true strength.

So unpredictable… humans.

But then he thought,

Well, it's okay that the person from the game company said this now. Otherwise, there would have been many problems later. Looks like that person already saw this coming—that's why he said it in front of everyone. Or maybe Sir Heart ordered him to say it… so there won't be trouble later.

Now let's move.

He still had work to do until the two special AIs arrived.

One for the Concord.

One for the real world.

Hmm… the Concord AI should arrive today or tomorrow after the payment. The real-world AI will take longer. No problem—it's just a few days.

Saying this to himself, he began working.

But first—he decided to call the alliance meeting and tell them everything.

If they paid, they would receive the benefits.

If they didn't pay… well, let's just say it wouldn't happen.

No one was foolish enough to throw away this huge opportunity.

Or they might take a different path—wait for confirmation, verify the truth, and then pay later to make their own Concord.

But of course, they would miss the early-bird advantage.

Mordan smiled faintly.

Let them decide.
