Chapter 164 - Ch 164: What Opportunity?

‎A burly, middle-aged man opened it almost immediately, his broad frame filling the doorway as he looked the ambassador up and down with mild curiosity rather than suspicion.

"Hey, who are you? Do you need any help?"

The man's tone was friendly—he had always held a good impression of Indians, finding them warm, humorous, and easy to talk to—so he remained relaxed.

The ambassador returned a polite smile and replied lightly. While also using a language translation device.

"Sir, I represent India. On the direct orders of our Prime Minister, I have come to deliver a letter to your daughter."

The burly man's eyes widened.

Hearing that this was an official visit from India's Prime Minister himself, he immediately straightened his back, the casual demeanor vanishing as seriousness took over.

"Please, come inside," he said quickly, ushering the ambassador into the warm living room before calling out, "Vera! Wife! Come here—there's someone important!"

His sixteen-year-old daughter, Vera, and his wife hurried in from the kitchen, both looking confused and a little worried.

The burly man turned to them, voice low and serious.

"This gentleman is from India. He has a letter for Vera—from their Prime Minister."

Vera blinked, completely puzzled.

She wasn't a genius, not some prodigy or special talent—just a normal girl living a quiet life, going to school, helping at home, dreaming of simple things.

Why would India's Prime Minister send her a letter?

She stepped forward hesitantly and asked, "Sir… what is the letter about? Do you know anything?"

The ambassador gave a wry, apologetic smile.

"I don't know the contents myself—my higher-ups were very clear that nobody except you is allowed to open or read it. But they instructed me to tell you one single line."

Vera's parents exchanged worried glances, suddenly aware of how confidential—and therefore important—this must be.

The ambassador continued, repeating his higher up exact words with careful emphasis.

"This is your life-changing opportunity. You cannot miss it."

The room fell silent.

Vera's heart began to beat faster.

Her parents looked at each other, then at her, curiosity and concern mixing in their expressions.

Vera took the sealed letter from the ambassador's hand, fingers trembling slightly.

She looked down at it—plain envelope, only her name and address written on the front.

Then she glanced back at the ambassador.

"Can I… open it here?"

The ambassador shook his head gently but firmly.

"No, I'm sorry. You must read it alone, in private. No one else can see the contents. I'll wait right here for your answer."

Vera's mother opened her mouth to protest—wanting to know what could possibly be so secret—but the ambassador's serious expression stopped her.

The family had no choice.

Vera nodded quietly, clutching the letter, and walked to her small bedroom at the end of the hall.

She closed the door behind her, sat on the edge of her bed, and slowly broke the seal.

The single page inside unfolded easily.

The moment it opened fully, the world around her shifted.

Her body froze in place, statue-still, eyes wide and unblinking.

Her mind lifted—pulled gently upward—into a strange, serene place.

She opened her eyes again to find herself standing on soft white clouds that stretched endlessly in every direction.

A warm sun hung above, radiating gentle heat without glare.

The air felt clean, peaceful, alive in a way she couldn't explain.

It was beautiful—simple, calm, and completely lifelike.

Unlike Xinxuan, Vera didn't spiral into overthinking panic.

She wasn't the type to imagine demons, gods, or hellish punishments.

She simply stood there, looking around slowly, confused but not afraid.

The clouds drifted lazily.

The sun continued to shine.

Everything felt… normal.

Yet impossibly real.

She turned in a slow circle, searching for anything familiar, anyone at all.

She whispered to herself, barely audible.

"Where… am I?"

The dream world waited, quiet and patient, as Vera took her first careful steps across the endless sky.

Roaming around the white clouds world, Vera realized after some time that this place was incredibly vast—almost endless. If she kept walking aimlessly like this, she might never find anyone.

She stopped for a moment, taking a deep breath of the clean, crisp air, and began to analyze the details calmly instead of panicking. She had received a letter from India, and the moment she unfolded the page inside it, she had ended up here. So the letter must have been something magical—some kind of powerful artifact.

She had heard many unusual things happening on Earth lately—strange energies, Strong beasts, rumors of cultivation—so this could easily be one of those mysterious events.

She also connected the dots: the letter came from India, so this place might be related to India somehow, or perhaps even created by someone from there.

She was still thinking quietly, piecing everything together, when she suddenly heard a soft clapping sound coming from her left side.
