Chapter 52 - Sisterly Protests and the Mortal Foundation Sutra

Hearing Kamal name the fortress, Solar clone smiled lightly. "Dark Haven Fortress… that's perfect. Dad, you're awesome."

‎Kamal nodded and puffed out his chest in pride.

‎Once they reached the fortress, Kamal headed to his room to rest while Solar clone turned toward the deeper corridors, preparing to create new techniques. He searched for a quiet chamber in the cultivation ground where no one would disturb him.

‎On the way, he stopped outside Sanya's room. He wanted to check whether she was bored or needed anything to eat.

‎He knocked lightly.

‎The door swung open and Sanya peeked out, eyes bright. "Brother? Why are you here? Did you come to play with me or watch a movie?"

‎Solar clone met her hopeful gaze and shook his head. "Not this time. I just came to ask if you're bored or if you want something to eat."

‎Sanya pouted. "No, I don't want to eat anything. I already ate a lot. And yes, I am getting bored of watching movies and stuff."

‎"You can go to the fields if you're bored," Solar clone suggested. "Play with Sacral clone or Mom. They just came back from buying seeds. Okay, I'll go now."

‎Sanya nodded and summoned a wind‑puppet mattress to carry her to the fields. Just as it started to move, she turned back. "Brother, where are you going?"

‎"I'm going to create some new techniques," Solar clone replied casually.

‎The mattress halted as Sanya slapped her palm on it. She twisted around and shouted, "WHAT? You're going to do something amazing and not taking me with you? You're a bad brother! I want to come too—take me!"

‎Solar clone's tone hardened. "No. I need full focus to create techniques, and you'll definitely distract me. Go."

‎With a small gesture, he ordered the wind‑puppet mattress forward. It shot down the corridor, carrying Sanya away before she could argue again.

‎Watching her brother grow smaller in the distance, Sanya clenched her fists and yelled, "I'm not going to talk to you! You're the worst!"

‎__________

‎Solar clone watched Sanya vanish on the wind‑puppet mattress and muttered to himself, "Why don't I create something like a body‑strengthening technique… something that can make the family stronger without much risk?

‎Mom, Dad, Sanya have already come here and are safe, but now they stay inside all day with no outside world. They'll definitely get bored. Why didn't I give them something to do that also helps them get familiar with cultivation?"

‎From Ankit's memories he had read countless novels where, before people became cultivators, they spent years on body‑strengthening drills and strange mortal habits.

‎Those who followed such rules without even knowing they were "techniques" always ended up far more resilient than others. If random people in novels could become tough just by chance, how far could his own family go with a proper scripture?

‎He didn't need anything high‑level. "Even a low‑level method is enough," he decided. "If it can make them four or five times stronger than normal humans, they'll already be considered monsters when real cultivation starts. I can upgrade it later."

‎He entered a quiet stone chamber, closed every door and window, and sat cross‑legged on the floor. Thoughts turned and wove together. "The way to open the Root Core should connect to this… the body should be tempered, the breath steadied, the will sharpened, but all in a way mortals can do."

‎For five days he refined the concept, and for two more days he personally practised and adjusted it using only a human‑level body. On the seventh night he finally opened his eyes, a satisfied light in them.

‎He had created a scripture. He named it: Mortal Foundation Sutra

‎________

‎Mortal Foundation Sutra

‎(Scripture of the Unawakened Body and Mind)

‎This sutra is written for mortals who have not opened a single meridian, who have never absorbed essence, but wish to build a foundation that will not collapse when true power descends. It uses only the strength, breath, and habits of an ordinary human.

‎Core idea:

‎No special talent required.

‎No realm requirement.

‎Follow the rules; your body and mind change on their own.

‎The Nine Mortal Laws:

‎Law of Iron Bones

‎Each day, carry or lift something slightly heavier than the day before.

‎Let your bones remember weight now, so they do not shatter when energy multiplies your strength later.

‎Law of Burning Blood

‎Run or work until your lungs burn, then endure ten more breaths.

‎Blood that has tasted true exhaustion will, after cultivation begins, flow like a dragon river instead of a muddy stream.

‎Law of the Still Mind

‎Sit without moving for the time of one incense stick, watching only your breath.

‎The one who can endure quiet now will not go mad during months of closed‑door cultivation.

‎Law of the Empty Stomach

‎Eat until only seven or eight parts full.

‎The little emptiness you leave every day becomes, in the future, an elastic dantian that can drink in qi without bursting.

‎Law of Heat and Cold

‎Face heat and cold within safe limits: cool water in winter, sun in summer. Do not flee at the first discomfort.

‎A body that has already met extremes will not fear fire‑type and ice‑type techniques.

‎Law of Wounds and Healing

‎Train until small aches and minor strains appear, then let them heal naturally, without medicines.

‎Every healed mark becomes an invisible toughness pattern on your future Dao Body.

‎Law of the Silent Tongue

‎Speak less; don't waste words on complaints and bragging.

‎Saved words become saved willpower. Saved willpower becomes a sharper Dao Heart.

‎Law of Observing Eyes

‎Treat everything as a teacher: water flow, flame dance, wind in crops, weight of tools.

‎A mortal who has stolen a thousand tiny insights will learn any beginner technique several times faster than a so‑called genius.

‎Law of the Heart Vow

‎Once a month, stand alone and say from your deepest heart:

‎"I will become stronger than I am today."

‎Do not shout, do not joke. Say it once, seriously. The world may not hear it, but your own heart will, and it will refuse to retreat in future battles.
