Chapter 31 - 28

Konrad Curze's black hair was still disheveled, but his tone was very normal. At least for now, he showed no signs of an episode.

"Konrad Curze is troubled by those fleeting fragments of the future. I detect abnormal activity in his brain, but it's divided into two types of waves."

Angron pondered what this should be called.

"Yes! It's schizophrenia. Perhaps your ability can help him very well."

System AI spoke.

"My brother, I know your purpose, but... what did the Emperor of Mankind say?"

Angron didn't believe the Emperor of Mankind would allow Konrad Curze to join him on the Great Crusade.

"He agreed."

"?"

"?"

Angron and System AI simultaneously expressed confusion. The Emperor of Mankind just let Konrad Curze come over?

"I have no problem, but my brother, I hope what happened last time doesn't happen again."

"Of course."

Konrad Curze nodded. He saw hope, he saw light. On humanity's dark path, he saw the only possibility, but at the same time, Konrad Curze knew this path was difficult and arduous.

But he needed to witness it!

He would, he would witness it all!

A hint of tenderness appeared on Konrad Curze's pale face. He extended his lightning claw.

Angron stepped forward. Gell and Kharn, with very conflicted expressions, moved aside.

Angron grasped Konrad Curze's hand.

"Take care of me in the future, my brother."

"I will, I will."

Konrad Curze nodded his head heavily. For the first time, Angron saw a smile on Konrad Curze's face, a grotesque smile that made Angron's heart tremble slightly.

"I think you should make him eat more."

"Konrad Curze, are you hungry?"

"?"

Konrad Curze's smile froze. What did he mean?

"You're too thin. How will you find a wife later like this?"

"..."

Konrad Curze felt Angron was like a busybody.

The Thirteenth Expedition Fleet tore through the veil of the physical universe and entered the Warp.

Contrary to System AI's expectations, the Emperor of Mankind and Malcador did not come to see them off. In the last second of their departure, System AI's database received a warning from the Emperor of Mankind.

"Be careful, they are looking for you!"

System AI knew who the Emperor of Mankind was referring to: those exalted beings of the Immaterium. Although the Emperor of Mankind kindly warned him, System AI felt that the Emperor of Mankind would have been better off throwing over some Sisters of Silence or Custodes.

Under the steel, lights illuminated the bridge. Angron, wearing the Armor of the god of war, sat in his designated position. Gell and Kharn stood beside Angron, their axes lowered, while scribes quickly sketched Angron's portrait.

Konrad Curze returned to his own ship. The War Hounds did not want that Primarch near their father. This disdain was unanimously agreed upon by all the War Hounds after Gell and Kharn explained it.

Angron slowly closed his eyes. They were getting further and further from Nuceria.

Nuceria was located in the southeastern direction of the Ultima Segmentum, while they were heading northeast, towards Konrad Curze's homeworld. This was not Angron's wish, but the Emperor of Mankind's command could not be defied.

They would go back, they would... Nuceria, Deshia Arena. Angron vaguely looked at the weapon in his hand. Around him were his shattered loved ones, brothers and sisters.

He was back?

The nail? Where was the nail?

Angron touched his head. It was smooth, completely empty.

He saw Ryan. Ryan lay on the ground, contorted, as if he had died again. He twitched on the ground in a strange posture. Ryan was one of Angron's brothers and sisters, and also one of the loved ones who died fighting the witch.

Only he, only he survived that battle.

Angron looked into the distance with a ferocious expression. It was that guy, the witch!

The witch was making a Gladiator turn into a rapidly spinning pool of blood in the air. The moment the Gladiator dissolved into formless flesh and fell to the ground, Angron could no longer suppress the anger and rage within him. He charged forward.

The axe was clenched in Angron's hand. As in the past, he felt the movement on the ground, the shattered ice and sand sent a shiver down Angron's spine. The biting cold made him unable to move, his legs felt heavy as if filled with lead, his steps slow, but he still resisted the witch's power and came before her. Angron held back the burning purple flames.

"Do you think you can kill me again?"

"Little boy!"

The witch allowed Angron to choke her neck. Angron had killed her once before.

"Of course!"

Angron said firmly.

"Angron, you can never kill me!"

Even as Angron desperately squeezed the witch's neck, she still transmitted her psychic voice into Angron's mind.

"Angron, your destiny has been revealed. You will receive a great rebirth. Kill me!"

The witch shrieked and wailed. She was anticipating, anticipating Angron's furious killing of her. This was fate.

"Oh! Let me see, a poor little demon. How did you get in? The Geller field is still working, so how did you get in?"

When System AI's voice rang out, both Angron and the witch on the ground showed expressions of extreme surprise.

"Let him go, Angron!"

When a thin young man in a green robe appeared before Angron, Angron lifted the witch and held her in front of him like a shield.

"Prove yourself."
