I shivered involuntarily as I listened to Bianca.
Even though I refused to let myself think about Oleander dying, it was no longer an option. I could already feel us heading in that direction.
Dante could have killed her. Or worse whoever had killed Alan had done a meticulous job. They said it was an overdose, but I doubted that was the truth.
They were only telling us what we were meant to know, and I wanted to believe the council had covered everything, just like they had with Alpha Caleb's death.
Yet, I knew it wouldn't be long before they came knocking again. After all, Dante and Alan had been close these past few days. I could already see the accusations hanging in the air, ready to strike.
Dante didn't look satisfied with Bianca's words. He laughed, a humorless sound I knew too well. One that always meant his anger was simmering beneath the surface and it was only a matter of time before he snaps.
