Alan's voice was still ringing in my head as I left the meeting hall.
For the ritual to become a success, she needs to be weakened, broken, and ripped from the original source.
I hadn't even bothered asking how he knew Oleander was the catalyst, or how he knew she was in my pack house in the first place. The fact that he'd mentioned her involvement in Alpha Caleb's death still gnawed at me.
But I refused to dwell on it.
She was powerless, and Hex had been with her for a long time. If she'd had anything to do with Alpha Caleb's death, he would have said something. Besides, on the day that bastard died, Oleander was with me at the summit. There was no way she could have slipped away to kill him.
"She couldn't even use a gun or a dagger on me when I gave her the chance," I scoffed under my breath.
For all I knew, Alan himself was involved, using Oleander's mystery for his own gain.
I stepped into the dungeon, my boots echoing as I made my way toward Oleander's cell.
