"Miss, this way please, the Guild Master is already waiting!" The white-haired, beautiful girl Mirajane, opening the door of the office and made a gesture of invitation to Nami.
"Thank!" Nami nodded and stepped inside.
"What would you like to commission us with?" asked Su Yu as swiveled on the chair gracefully. He could not help frowning slightly as he had already recognized the orange-haired girl in front of him.
This was a matter of course as Su Yu is a transmigrator. How could he not recognize this girl. A member of the protagonist group the "Straw Hat Pirates".
Nami, the genius navigator, the 'Cat Burglar'. For what she came for, he already knows. It is finally time to eradicate the Arlong Pirates!
Su Yu's sharp gaze made Nami's body tremble and panic arising in her heart.
"Do not be nervous Miss. Take a sip of tea first and then tell us your request," Mirajane said softly as she handed over the cup of tea.
"Um..." Nami took a sip of tea, collected herself and then told the tyrannical story of Arlong and his Pirates over Cocoyasi and the surrounding villages.
"How could this be...it is too much!" the kind-hearted Mirajane's face flushed with sympathy and heart full of affection.
"Please, please drive Arlong and his crew out of Cocoyasi Village and the East Blue. This is my request!" Nami bowed deeply, her request sincere.
"So, what about the payment? How much did you prepare for this commission?" Su Yu asked.
"One hundred...no one million Berry!" Nami replied. Of course she could offer more, but she does not know much about this guild. It is not clear if Su Yu had the capability of deal with Arlong and secondly, revealing the total amount would provide less room to negotiate.
Although she heard though a rumor, Su Yu supposedly took a commission to overthrow the Kreig Pirates for only 10,000 Berries! Compared to that, the one million Nami offered seemed more than generous.
"Miss Nami, one million Berries, do you not think this amount is slightly inconsistent with the size of your request?" Su Yu teased Nami with a half-smile. He knew of Nami's obsession with money. Arlong had to be dealt with of course. But first, he had to test this obsessed money grubber.
"I understand the danger of this request. Master Su, please tell me that you can get rid of Arlong and his crew. Whatever the price, I am willing to pay!" Nami said through gritted teeth.
"In that case, then I will not hold back. I want this number!" Su Yu smiled whilst holding out two fingers.
"Two million?" Nami said.
Su Yu just shook his head.
"Then...20 million?" Nami asked tentatively. This price was still within her acceptable range. However, Su Yu still shook his dead.
"It cannot be two hundred million!" The corners of Nami's mouth twitched. This offer was slightly beyond her expectation. But, with gritted teeth she could make it make it work.
However, Su Yu shook his head once more and made his own offer.
"Two billion Berries. A village is worth 100 million. I will make Arlong and his crew disappear from this world!"
"N-Nani?! What two billion?!" Nami staggered slightly, her heart screaming 'Robbery!'
Even Mirajane's eyes widened at Su Yu's absurd offer. In her experience working with Su Yu, she had noticed that he was not overly concerned with rewards. If the client had money, accept more; if not, accept less. Sometimes, just a meal will do. Just like the commission for the Kreig Pirates, the rewards were just 10,000 Berries, but all he had wanted was a glass of water and a bowl of rice.
Yet now, with a girl who has suffered under Arlong's cruelty, he was requesting an absurd amount of two billion Berries. Although without knowing why, Mirajane had absolute confidence that Su Yu must have his own considerations for this move. So, she remained silent.
"So how about it, Miss Nami. I know my quote is a bit high, but it will definitely be worth every Berry!" Su Yu said whilst smiling.
Nami bit her lips tightly without saying a word. A village of 100 million berries was also within her acceptable range. Because she had originally wanted to buy back Cocoyasi Village for 100 million Berries from Arlong. If Su Yu had instead proposed 100 million Berries, she may have hesitated briefly and then agreed. Now however, it was 2 billion Berries, not just for Cocoyasi Village but for all 20 villages.
This was far beyond her current ability. It has taken nearly 8 years of hard work to save money and there was still a long way to go before the 100 million Berries goal. Two billion, this is an impossible task for her.
"Sure enough, this could not work!" Nami pursed her lips, ready to leave.
"Do not give up in a hurry. The guild supports payments in installments. The down payment is one Berry, and the rest can be paid back by working part-time. It just happens that the guild is still short of manpower!" Su Yu said smiling.
"Oh~" Mirajane was stunned. She finally understood the real reason for the outrageous offer. The reason was not for the money, no it was for the girl and her potential.
"Whether you wish to keep the commission, you can think about it carefully. Mira, please send Miss Nami to rest," Su Yu said.
"Yes Master," Mirajane complied.
After a few minutes, Mirajane had settled Nami and returned to Su Yu. Looking at him with her beautiful eyes, her small mouth puffed up slightly.
"What is wrong?" Su Yu asked as he stroked Mirajane's head.
"Hmph! The Guild Master is really playful! He already has us," Mirajane replied.
"Jealous?" The smile on Su Yu's face becoming larger.
"Who is jealous~?" Mirajane denied flustered with her eyes flickered.
Su Yu chuckled, drew and lovingly embraced her within his arms.
"You think too much, Mira, I want to keep Nami for the future development of the guild," he said seriously.
"Really?" she replied suspiciously.
"Certainly. As I said before, we will be going to the Grand Line soon. The weather there is unpredictable and will be difficult to move without a skilled navigation. Nami has the talent we are looking for."
"Miss Nami is a navigator?"
"Ordinary people cannot sailed the sea alone."
"It seems to be so," Mirajane nodded slightly.
"So, where are we going next? Should we meet Erza first?"
"No need, we will go directly to Cocoyasi Village," Su Yu replied.
